---------------------------------
Our tip for the 17th day of June is Streaming Teacher Videos. Teachers.Net has made the leap to video on the web, featuring great teacher videos every month in our online teacher magazine, The Teachers.Net Gazette!
Many years ago, in the earliest days of Internet multimedia,
Teachers.Net sought ways to collect, store, and serve great video, slide
shows, and live action presentations on the web. Although the
technology was, in theory, available, it wasn't until the emergence of
YouTube that we finally found a way to cost-effectively store and
efficiently stream high-quality video to the Teachers.Net
community.
YouTube features millions of videos, with tens of thousands of new videos
being added daily. And virtually every video on YouTube can be
directly embedded into any webpage, to bring the massive video library of
YouTube to any website anywhere. In an instant, a video library
greater than all the movie studios' put together was available for us to
feature directly on our website!
Among this incredible amount of videos on YouTube, are thousands of
videos that are by teachers, about education, or of interest to
educators. Teachers.Net's Gazette Editor Kathleen Carpenter scours
YouTube every month, looking for great video content to include directly
in our teacher-produced web magazine, The
Teachers.Net Gazette.
Each issue of the Gazette features five or more videos that we think
teachers will enjoy. In addition to the great content already on
YouTube, Kathleen is always soliciting new contributions directly from
Teachers.Net teachers. If you have a video that you think would be
appropriate for the Gazette, follow these simple directions to get it
uploaded and submitted to the Gazette.
Submitting Your Video To The Teachers.Net Gazette
-
Upload your video to YouTube
- Contact the
Gazette editor and suggest your video - include a link to the video on
YouTube
That's it - we'll review your video suggestion and if we feel it's
appropriate and we have room, we'll include it in the next Gazette issue,
or the next available publication date.
Suggest A Video For The Gazette
You don't need to be the author of the video to suggest it for
inclusion on Teachers.Net. Simply note the URL (or name and author)
of the video, and send
it to us at the Gazette. Videos can also be hosted on
TeacherTube.com - or any other video
hosting site that features webpage embedding.
Here are some great videos that we've featured in recent issues of the
Teachers.Net Gazette. I
hope we have the opportunity to showcase your video or suggestions in
upcoming issues of the Gazette too!

chance, check out the Teachers.Net

featured every month. I hope to see your work in the Gazette
soon!
