---------------------------------
Teachers.Net was founded to service teachers across the entire educational range - whether you're located in the states or abroad, teach from anatomy to zoology, student teachers, beginning teachers, seasoned veterans, even retired teachers - Teachers.Net provides for everyone with a calling to teach. Today's tip helps teachers connect with other teachers in their grade level, and find resources especially targeted for teachers of their grade level.
Teachers who regularly visit Teachers.Net no doubt are aware of the
Mentor Center, which provides
teachers access to over 150 unique chatboards for all major aspects of
teaching. You've probably also seen our prominent red link in the
top right, directing you to the Chat
Center, an extremely fast-moving page capturing the latest
discussions occurring all across Teachers.Net.
But you may not be aware that Teachers.Net offers a channel exclusively
dedicated to the grade level that you teach. Whether you teach
childcare or are a college instructor, Teachers.Net has a discussion
network just for you.
Grade Level Chatboards
Teachers.Net offers web-based discussion boards (our chatboards) for
every grade level. The Grade Level chatboards are all indexed at on
the Grade Level Chatboards
page. They can also be accessed directly from the footer of every
page (see the drop box featuring our site map); from the side links on
the Chat Center page, and from the Mentor Center complete chatboard
listing.
Current Listing of Grade Level Chatboards:
These chatboards move very quickly, so you'll want to bookmark them and
return often. If you have a nagging question relevant to your grade
level, this is a great place to start - post to these chatboards as
frequently as you are able, the more you post the more useful these
resources become for your peer group.
If you haven't been by these chatboards yet, stop in and introduce
yourself. You'll find the teachers on the Grade Level Chatboards
are wonderfully supportive, and love to welcome new voices to the
group.
Grade Level Mailrings
In addition to the Grade Level Chatboards, Teachers.Net also features
a collection of email discussion lists exclusively for teachers of every
grade level. Like the chatboards, the
Teachers.Net
Mailrings connect
teachers with a common interest in a collaborative support
environment. However, the mailrings provide the convenience of
having the discussions sent directly to your email box. In
addition, the mailrings also dispatch chatboard digests or updates for
the chatboards directly to each corresponding mailring. Most
chatboards have a complementary mailring, and to catch all the news,
information, and chat, we recommend you visit the chatboard regularly and
subscribe to its companion mailring.
Current Listing of Grade Level Mailrings:
For fastest subscribing, see the
Teachers.Net Mailrings page,
where you can sign up for as many mailrings as you like from a single
page.
Grade Level Lesson Plans
Teachers.Net hosts a collection of over 4000 teacher-submitted lesson
plans, from short simple ideas to give your lesson some zing, to advanced
standards-based curricula. All lessons in the Teachers.Net Lesson
Bank are categorized and searchable by grade level (as well as subject
area).
To browse the hundred of great lesson plans in your grade level, look for
the
"browse
" link on the top of every page of the Lesson Bank, or scan the
categories listed on the Homepage of the
Lesson Bank.
Current Listing of Grade Level Lesson Plans:
