LynnM - hiya suzanne!
Suzanne - hi Lynn - how are you today?
LynnM - am I in the meeting room?
Suzanne - yep
Suzanne - 3rd grade 4Blocks, right?
LynnM - maybe my clock is a bit fast...
Suzanne - 1 or 2 minutes yet
LynnM - do you both teach third?
Stacy - Yes, planning to try 4 blocks this year
Suzanne - yes, this will be my 6th year in 3rd, 1st year using 4 Blocks
LynnM - I am starting year 4 with it.... love it!
Stacy - Hope it will help my kids, inner city, new program
LynnM - have either of you had any training?
Suzanne - went to see Dottie Hall, Working With Words last week, but that's it
Stacy - No, so far I've read 4 or 5 of the books and wandered around this site
LynnM - hahahah, stacy, good start
LynnM - I have gotten so many good ideas from this site
Suzanne - I have learned a lot fron the mailring too
LynnM - Are you planning to jump in, or just try parts of it first?
Stacy - Now I have to consolidate, and make a plan
Stacy - I want to at least have the structure of all 4 blocks in place, that is part of what I like about the 4 blocks My kids need structure and routine and so do I
Stacy - Hi Deb I think you helped me once
LynnM - I like the structure of the blocks....
deb - hi suzanne, did you see Dottie in Oak Lawn
Suzanne - yes, in Houston . . . WONDERFUL!!
LynnM - I teach in a learning style environment, so I do 2 blocks in the morning, and 2 in the afternoon
deb - what guided reading lessons have worked in 3rd?
Suzanne - really got me motivated
deb - stacy, :) I like helping
LynnM - I tend to do booksets when i can, and use the basal for some non fiction reading
LynnM - boxcar children is a good, easy start
Suzanne - I am in Texas, so we have TAAS testing in 3rd grade; I can focus on those objectives
deb - What are the third grade questions
deb - Do you read Boxcar whole group first?
Stacy - Without knowing I did a lot of guided reading in this format last year with stories on a 2/3 level I typed up
Suzanne - I love to start with Stone Fox
deb - tell me about stone fox, what do you do with it? what graphic organizers? do you do a question/answer format?
LynnM - we sure did, deb.... some days pair share, some days choral, some days independently, and even a few whole group round robin, although strictly speaking, it isn't a part of the model to round robin
LynnM - I do stone fox in Jan
Suzanne - I have used it to teach Literature Circles format
Stacy - My Kids like Applemando by Patricia Pollaco a lot, surprised me
LynnM - Stone Fox lends itself to character questions..
deb - Lynn maybe later you can post to the mailring some more details about stone fox and the boxcar children. It seems like there are a lot of people struggling with seeing how to do guided reading in a 3rd grade
deb - stacy, what did you do with the typed up stories?
LynnM - there are a lot of TCM and FS out there on those two books to help guide..
LynnM - Each day we begin with a voc discussion on 3-4 words
LynnM - then I set a purpose for reading
Stacy - We have state proficiency tests so I pretty much use that format and those objectives for all guided reading objectives then used literary elements for reading logs in SSR
deb - Stacy, tell me more about APplemando, what did you focus on? How did you do guided reading with it
LynnM - after reading we discuss with venns, or do a GO,
deb - GO -- is this graphic organizer?
LynnM - yes, deb
Stacy - As I remember there is a lot of character motivation in it, and story or plot sequencing
Suzanne - Lynn, what are TCM and FS?
LynnM - Teacher Created Materials, Frank Shaffer Materials
deb - are thirds ready to reading response with ssr? I don't do it in 2nd grade yet
Suzanne - of course (duh)
deb - lit circles -- how do you organize?
LynnM - They have great discussions on the books, so it gives me a jumping off spot... focuses me and helps me see the possibilities of the books
Stacy - Typed up stories were just to have multiple copies. Some folks suggested putting on overhead but that was not workable with my kids, plus it felt a little closer to books. Stories were anything, usually thematic.
LynnM - I do SSR every day
LynnM - most important part, I think....
Suzanne - I use Harvey Daniels' model
Suzanne - 5 different jobs
Stacy - We are required to do them for portfolio, a reading response and log. I just keep it very open ended. They did actually improve as year went on.
deb - did you do rivet for vocab discussion?
LynnM - I do rivet for my words block
deb - So weird I was off now on
LynnM - if you don't have month by month phonics for third grade by Cunningham and Hall, it is a must!
Stacy - No but they really responded to the words in context activity for vocabulary, where you cover the word with a post it.
Suzanne - I bought that ad have made my WW words
deb - What do beginning 3rd grade tchrs need to do to get ready for 4 blocks
LynnM - suzanne, be flexible with WW words... they are words YOUR kids have trouble with and for each class they will vary
Suzanne - I have made allowances for adding those my kids need, but made up the ones M by M suggests, just in case (lol)
Stacy - I bought the ready made bulliten board and am now trying to figure out what words to add to make five a week.
LynnM - Get your WW alphabet up, make a big word, preferable one like hospitals or mountains, one with easy words, and not 7-8 letter words to start
Suzanne - I bought MAking Big Words 2 years ago and have loved using it
LynnM - stacy, I start with because, night, sound, share, words that are VERY rhyming
deb - Do you use 2nd grade material or poems or what on easy days?
deb - Lynn are you given the option about spelling?
Stacy - My kids were on easy days for a lot of days at beginning of year...thank heavens second grade teacher let me use her second basal. This year I have been getting a lot of Shel Silverstein poems ready.
LynnM - I do spelling from 4-blocks
LynnM - I have a sheet I made up in excell, and my first 5 words are my WW for the week, my next five are on grade level and my last 5 run like extra words.. challenge words
Suzanne - my grade level has some class sets of easier books, so I can use those
deb - We are required to give sp tests, but I tie them into wwwords
LynnM - On Monday we take a pre-test
deb - welcome jessy, what third grade questions do you have?
LynnM - We grade it, and go over it letter by letter with a blue pencil
JESSY - actually its grade 2
Suzanne - we use zaner bloser spelling, and i have to give grades
JESSY - i have to do a year long unit on NYC--any suggestions???
deb - tomorrow we'll be talking grade two :) :) but feel free to ask tonight too!
LynnM - I have the advantage, suzanne of having total district support, we have mandated it as the ONLY delivery system for LA
JESSY - thank u.
Suzanne - lucky you, lynn
Stacy - I thought it would also make sense to use 5 words that use the spelling pattern you are working on in making words, if they can transfer that they really have learned to spell.
LynnM - it helps, suzanne
deb - What books do you read for NYC?
Suzanne - i thought about that, too, stacy
JESSY - do you mean interactive reading books??
LynnM - stacy, the idea in 4_block is NOT to use spelling patterns... high frequency words for the first 5
Stacy - Langston Hughes for poetry, the Harlem Rennaisance. There is a nice story about a little girl named Jo Louis.
JESSY - "subway sparrow", "how to get famous in brooklyn", etc. these are a couple of the interactive reading books i can think of ..
deb - lynn, tell me more... about spelling
Stacy - Lynn, I better make sure I've got this. I thought word wall was high frequency exclusively, but that in addition makiing words and word sort deals with word endiings (families) like "ack" or "an".
LynnM - I have a lot of forms for recording, assessing, collecting data, spelling forms, which looks right, etc if you have Word98 and will be glad to attach to an email for anyone who wants it
deb - Also we put one of the word ending words on the wall with a star sticker to indicate that the word can be used to spell other rhyming words
LynnM - yes, stacy, but those words don't need to be on the word wall.... you wouldn't put sound, found, pound on the wall, just one of them
Suzanne - yes. lynn, i would love that :o)
LynnM - my addy is lmellis@att.net, email me and I will reply
deb - lynn maybe you could send to the mailring with a spelling header?
LynnM - I do that too, deb
Suzanne - thanks, i will
LynnM - jessy, email me, and I will reply...
deb - great, for a minute I was confused.
Suzanne - good idea, deb
Stacy - That would be great
LynnM - i will also put that out on the ring so you don't need a pencil and paper
Matt - hi teachers where is everyone from
Stacy - Oh for New York Tar Beach
LynnM - what looks right is a great activity, on page 91 of MbyM
Suzanne - also Cinderelly for NYC
LynnM - South Carolina, Matt
deb - guided reading... what do you read on easy read days?
Matt - Anyone teach kindergarten
JESSY - thats right, Failth Ringold is the author right?
LynnM - I have a form for that too on here
Stacy - I tried some short magazine articles from kids magazines last year but those proved difficult. Maybe the graphics and page format was too distracting?
deb - sorry about the "three"peat
deb - deb is from michigan
Suzanne - I'm from Texas, Matt
Suzanne - would you consider Scholastic News or Time for Kids easier reading?
Matt - What grade do you teach
Stacy - Yes, I love her work. There is also a great reading rainbow episode that uses tar beach and tells all about the bridge in the book
deb - Scholastic for 2nd grade is ongrade level and I don't know about Time for kids reading level wise
deb - deb and jessy teach 2nd grade Matt
Suzanne - i haven't used them before . . . thanks deb
Stacy - So if any 2nd grade teachers are using, I should get there left over Scholastic!
LynnM - amelia bedelia, grade two basal stories, arthur stories, franklin, lots of stuff, and most of it even has the level on the back now
Matt - can anyone help me with a project
JESSY - whats the project?
deb - stacy, I beg borrow STEAL one copy of each grade level and laminate them. GREAT SSR resource
deb - Lynn, thanks ... that's some I use in second grade too :)
Stacy - good idea!
LynnM - my baskets are overwhelmingly level 2 for the first half of the year
Matt - well across the US I have to ask the question to kids from preschool to grade 2 where does a cookie go after you eat it or where does the snow come from
LynnM - great idea deb
deb - mine are preprimer to 1st at beginning of year too.
deb - matt? Are you for real? What for?
Matt - I teach kindergarten and this for my bachelors degree almost finished
Stacy - I'm 3rd Matt, but I'll ask my 2nd grade team mate. Paper?
LynnM - look for websites on schools, matt, and email them with the request..
Suzanne - i teach 3rd matt
Matt - to find the different scenarios of child development
deb - Lynn how do your kids do with 4 blocks after having it for years?
deb - this meeting room is nuts tonight!
Matt - ok
LynnM - I just taught summer school, we pretested and postested, and ALL of them made over 1.5 months gain in a grouping of 12 with our computer testing. SS was three weeks
deb - back to 4 blocks in third grade... suzanne and jessy what are the most difficult things in 4 blocks to implement for you?
Stacy - I found a couple "chapter books" I want to try next year. A series about a boy named Julian, Julian Dream Doctor, the Stories Julian tells etc. And a piece called the chalk box kid by Bulla
Suzanne - that's great, Lynn!!
jessy - i want to assign spelling words for h.w.- what are some activities that are fun to do and different from writing the words 3x each??
Matt - my e-mail if anyone has a chance is mcalandrello@yahoo.com
deb - lynn! that's incredible!!!!
LynnM - Stories Julian Tells is one I do.... great for LATER in third grade....
Stacy - Lynn this was with 4 blocks?
deb - The Chalkbox Kid -- I have a great resource at school. Email me in Sept. d-smith@cybersol.com nad I will send it out snail mail.
LynnM - the foremost thing in 4-blocks is to get them "hooked" on books, makes the SSR easier....
Stacy - Thanks I will
LynnM - our summer school was the first Mandated time to teach 4-blocks, but this is my 4th year with it
deb - does all the staff buy in now? How prevalent is it in the Carolinas?
Suzanne - deb, i think working with words - until i heard dottie. I am still struggling with looking for guided reading materials
LynnM - good question, jessy.... words that rhyme with your spelling words.... alphabetical order, circling vowels, underlining consonents....
deb - My kids love finding words that rhyme in rounding up the rhymes. I sent that home as homework -- they loved it.
LynnM - i think ours is the first district, and most are still struggling with the total concept, trying to "fit" their old teaching to this new style
deb - suzanne, animal themes are easier to read. I have some ideas posted on the lessons on animals. :)
Stacy - I agree about success, it is so hard to make these kids feel successful (or the teacher), I was thrilled when occassionallly I could with genuine enthusiasm share what progress they were making. Now that I know where they are I will work to that goal earl
deb - welcome, ma
Suzanne - i saw those, deb, printed them!!
deb - I had lunch with Dottie, I enjoyed her too. Did she tell you about the third grade phonics book and how it was hard to write because of the third grades that can read vs. the thirds that can't read yet?
Suzanne - yes! I think most of the kids I will have this year are already reading at 3rd grade level - thanks to some wonderful teachers who looped from 1st to 2nd with their kids
deb - I found that breaking the guided reading into more do-chunks really helped third graders cope better with on grade level text?
deb - jane, welcome! What questions do you have?
Suzanne - Lynn, do you start id Day 1 with all 4 blocks? or gradually introduce them?
LynnM - Has anyone thought about conferencing with SSR?
jane - I have no particular questions... just learning by reading. I amTitle 1 and work with all grades We are starting 4 blocks this fall.
deb - How do you structure your conferencing?
LynnM - since I started out without the pressure of doing it all like the other teachers in our district are facing now, I spent the first 9 just implementing the word block
Stacy - I have a question, last year, not 4 blocks, I frequently read sections or whole selections aloud first, since I was primarily concerned with comprehension. Then they do a second readiing usiing any of a number of formats. Does this agree with 4 blocks?
Ralph - hi how do you write out lesson plans for the 4 blocks anyone know
LynnM - ralph, i have a lesson plan format form, can email if you would like me too..
Ralph - yes please do i need it
LynnM - that is within the four block framework...
Ralph - galbant@netmdc.com
LynnM - I am going to email the ring, and you can just reply and say what you want.... I can attach anything you can open with Office 97
LynnM - does anyone here have ICQ?
Ralph - thanks Lynn
deb1 - What is ICQ
Stacy - what is it?
LynnM - a chat msg client
deb1 - Diane, are you the IL Diane ? :)
LynnM - good for sending small files...
Ralph - I dont know about the ring
LynnM - it is freely available on the net...
deb1 - ralph, the 4 blocks mailring. You can join by going to the main page and then clicking on the mailrings
LynnM - teachers.net has a 4-block mailring, you can sign up for it at this site
Ralph - thanks Deb
deb1 - Lynn how do you structure conferencing during ssr? assign days? random? what works for you?
Stacy - I think the two best things I learned in all my reading were the writing block and working with words. Having moved from Intermediate I was lost, they were lost.
LynnM - for the first 2-3 weeks, it is modeling
LynnM - no conferencing, i actually get on the floor and read MY literature, during summer school it started out as Night Whispers by McNaught
deb1 - Good point Lynn!
LynnM - i would help direct the kids who couldn't sustain 15 min, which is what i started with...
LynnM - real restless kids, i offer to share read their books
deb1 - stacy, have you gotten The Art of Teaching Writing by Lucy Calkins yet? It will help with the writing block
LynnM - when they can sustain 20 min, i go to conferencing... you need that long to be able to conference
deb1 - Lynn, that's what I do too! How long did it take to go to 20 minutes for 3rd grade?
Suzanne - are your blocks 30 minutes or longer in 3rd?
LynnM - i have a folder with two different conferencing forms in it stapled on the right... one for short, one for just before reports
LynnM - 40 min blocks for us
Stacy - Yes! Used that with big kids too. But little stuff like model writing on the overhead was escaping me... then I finally went duh! No wonder they can't do it... I haven't taught them!
deb1 - In second I do 40 min for writing and guided reading; 30 for ssr and wwwords
LynnM - on the left, i have two different questioning forms with sample questions for me to ask, one expository, one for fiction
Suzanne - i didn't see how i could get in ll done in 30 min - I am used to 1 hour writing workshop
Stacy - I will possibly have the luxury of doing all 4 blocks in am. Any suggestions for order? active inactive etc. transitions are difficult
deb1 - lynn, does everyone have their own conf sheet?
LynnM - i just rotate my folders top to bottom, and if i have a child who needs more conferencing, and we all do, i stick it in the middle somewhere so i will hit him/her more often
Diane - Well, better late than never!!
LynnM - absolutely, deb..... their own folder, and after awhile they are looking to see who the top 4 are, because i usually get to 3 or 4 a day
deb1 - welcome Diane!
LynnM - stacy, i teach in a learning styles environment, so i do two in the AM and two in the PM, works well, and I rotate them each day to hit each child in his/her prime time
LynnM - hiya diane!
deb1 - :) I haven't used any written form yet. I am trying to decide if I need to. I probably do, just don't want a lot of extra paper work.
LynnM - it isn't hard, since all the paperwork is done while you are with the child..
deb1 - welcome Amy. What are your third grade questions?
LynnM - hiya amy!
Stacy - Is the conference form for anecdotal records? running records? self assessment?
deb1 - What do you use your paperwork for later?
LynnM - the conference folder really is a help to me to know what each child needs help in
Amy - thanks-- this is my first time here i really want to get away from letter of the week--that's tonite right???
deb1 - Do you make a running list of books read too?
LynnM - i know that David needs to be asked "who is the author" and Kelcy needs to be asked more plot oriented questions
LynnM - amy, that is at 9
deb1 - amy -- that's in another hour :) we are talking 3rd grade right now :)
LynnM - they keep the running list of books in their SSR folder
Amy - oh sorry!!!
LynnM - you are welcome to stay amy.. we are talking 4 blocks literacy model for third grade
Diane - I'm here, I think, keep geting bumped off. Is it over?
deb1 - diane, it isn't over, but everyone keeps getting bumped!
LynnM - still going diane, i am getting booted often too
deb1 - Diane -- are you diane/3/IL
deb1 - welcome Ben
LynnM - I have lots of forms i scanned in just for tonight, and i will put that out on the ring, so email me and I will send as attachments that will open in word97
ben - thanks deb
deb1 - lynn - great! thanks!!
deb1 - Ben, what are your questions, what grade do you teach?
ben - oh dear. i think i'm in the wrong area. i teach ms & hs.
LynnM - I also have a spelling form that will open in excell, and you just delete my words and put in your own.... pre made template
Stacy - Another dumb question. I think I am going to go ahead and take the letters to kinkos and have them copied on card stock and spend money rather than stand there and watch the machinejamb. If I laminate these do they last a couple years?
deb1 - ben-- we are discussing 4 blocks, teaching balanced literacy
Suzanne - those forms sound great, lynn
deb1 - I just have regular paper ones that have lasted with my 2nd graders for 3 years and still going strong
LynnM - mine have been in use for 3 years and SS.....still going strong.... one recommendation, get 3 vowels of each letter...
deb1 - lynn - what did you do with y
Stacy - Thanks, between this and Lynn's forms I can at least feel a bit prepared!
LynnM - since it is third, i just did it in white, and vowels in manilla, but some like to do the consonants in blue, the vowels in red, and the y in purple
LynnM - all my letters are laminated
LynnM - but my whole room is laminated, hahaha
LynnM - if you laminate your WW words, you have to be careful of glare, though
LynnM - wb jane!
Hope - Hi LynnM, Stacy and Jane!
Stacy - That's the truth, I actually considered buying my own copy machine and laminator this summer. At least I could do all this in my pjs!
LynnM - there goes deb again....
LynnM - this booting is getting rough
Hope - what are we talking about?
LynnM - i was just awarded a grant.... going to get my own book binder and combs finally!
Stacy - What causes it?
LynnM - i think this site uses too much bandwidth...
LynnM - that is why i asked if anyone was familiar with MIRC or ICQ.... more stable chat environment
Hope - what's bandwidth???
LynnM - i have been using chat clients for about 5 years....
LynnM - how much of the wire space is being used to transmit...
LynnM - wb hope!
Stacy - Wow! Ithought I was getting good becuase I could download a new printer driver!
LynnM - ohnnyo!
LynnM - hahahaha, good going stacy!
Hope - What do you mean, wb. I have been here all along
LynnM - I actually met my husband on a chat client...
Johnnyo - hmmmmm...Am I the only male here? It seems like I am the only male that accesses teachers.net!
LynnM - thought you did a brb, since you helloed
Stacy - Amazing!
Johnnyo - I guessed I missed the third grade meeting ;-(
Hope - Whats a brb?
LynnM - you are in the right place johnnyO
LynnM - be right back
Hope - I didn't know there was a third grade meeting Johnnyo
Stacy - No this is it we just got distracted, get us back on track!
Hope - nope, just logged on 6-7 min. ago
Johnnyo - OK...Start talking 4 Blocks!!!!!! How was that?
LynnM - there is a letter of the week meeting at nine, till then it is 4 block literacy for third grade
LynnM - so many got booted, that I was just holding off till they got back on.... but lets continue
Stacy - Well I am going to start for the first time next year. Have you been using?
Johnnyo - Is there anyone here, besides me, that thinks that 4 Blocks needs to be altered for upper grades? for third?
LynnM - I am using the model as it is projected and with great successes
Johnnyo - I emailed Cheryl the other day with a laundry list of proposed alterations.
LynnM - after 3 weeks with 9 children who had never been exposed to it each walked away loving books and wanting more
Stacy - Kids I am working with tend to be working a ways below grade level, so I am planning to use it as presented. I did a little bit of the working with words end of last year and kids really responded.
LynnM - Not one of my kids wanted summer school to be over.... they just loved reading and parents were amazed with the improvements in such a short time
Johnnyo - My biggest gripe is that you have to stop mid-week to move onto something easier or harder so that you can vary the reading levels. To me, that is tough since the kids are in the middle of novels.
Stacy - I don't think you would have to stop. If your kids want to finish the book, finish. Then do below grade level later.
LynnM - Johnny, I usually am reading 2-3 things at the same time, texts, novels, newspapers, so I don't think it is outrageous for our kids to do the same...
LynnM - It is more real world than basals
Johnnyo - LynnM, I agree. However, we are reading for Guided Reading, SSR, Social Studies, not to mention the read alouds and what they read at home.
Johnnyo - My proposal to Cheryl was to simply allow for longer periods of time with one book during guided reading and to allow for modification of reading levels over time. She didn't respond yet :-(
LynnM - is it that it is uncomfortable for the kids, or that you are not yet comfortable with it?
Stacy - Also If you could make the easier days related to the topic or theme or setting of the novel it might seem less choppy.
Johnnyo - I'm not sure who it is more uncomfortable for......Interesting question, though.
LynnM - my suggestion is to go with the model in its pure form at first, see what your results are, there is a lot of research behind it
LynnM - if it honestly isn't working for you, make changes later
LynnM - hiya lizz, welcome to 4-blocks literacy discussion....
LynnM - hiya nancy
Johnnyo - I guess, Lynn. I guess that I am questioning it still because even Pat Cunningham said that the model really wasn't designed for upper elementary grades.
Nancy - Hi! My question-what do you grade in reading?
Lizz K-1 - Hi. I teach a K-1 class, any suggestions?
Johnnyo - Pat agreed with my concern, though she didn't offer an alternative.
LynnM - she has done a lot of modifying for third grade though, and i can tell you it sure showed success this summer.... i could not believe it...
Johnnyo - Lynn, what modifications?
LynnM - nancy, i use the SSR form from Connie Prevatte for assessment, and set goals based on the old basal guide for benchmarks
LynnM - do you have month by month phonics for third by cunningham?
Lizz K-1 - My school does mostly Fountas/Pinnell, but we are supposed to use the other three blocks........
Johnnyo - Yup
LynnM - Susan Miller taught our classes and she did a great job of modeling the writing in one of our fourth grade classes..... happened to be a group i had had the previous year, and they just loved the focused writing
Stacy - Very few of the literacy models actually deal with upper grades, but we sure have third gradeers and older who are not reading yet. I appreciate the structure.
Lizz K-1 - It does not work in K, even Pat C unningham says to use the Building Blocks rather than 4 Blocks
Johnnyo - I keep getting booted :-()....I will try to clear my cache and log on again.
LynnM - our kinder group in summer school used it, and seemed to like it
LynnM - of course, they were kinder who had been kinders for a solid year
Lizz K-1 - The reason I signed on is beacuse of the Letter of the Week title. My own child was taught letter of the week. I don't do it, but the parents seem to really like it.
LynnM - Barb, the teacher said each of her kids left being able to "read", if only the Hungry Catepillar
Lizz K-1 - Would it be wrong to have Letter of the Week as homework?
LynnM - lizz, we will be going soon, the letter of the week meets at 9
Lizz K-1 - Oh, sorry. I am 15 minutes too early!!!!! So much for looking at the clock !!!! :-D
Lizz K-1 - Bye
Stacy - So Lynn what would you say are your strongest suggestions for starting out in third?
LynnM - if you don't HAVE to implement the entire model, start with the word block, get it up and running, then spread out to what is comfortable for you.... getting it all up at once is great, but stressful
Stacy - Then GR?
LynnM - if you follow Month by Month phonics, it adds stuff for you gradually.... it was planned that way for ppl new to the block.....
LynnM - i added GR second, then writing, finally SSR with conferencing, which wasn't so much change since I started the year with DEARS reading..
LynnM - DEARS... Drop Everything And Read Something (Which happened to be out of the Book Baskets from the first of the year)
Stacy - Good. Yes I like the Month by Month. Something that you don't have to design from scratch!
LynnM - i have to say that my MM is doggeared... and I only got it this book last October
LynnM - it brought the word block and its philosophy together for me
Jen - Another good name for DEAR is ZYLAR--Zip Your Lips and Read.
LynnM - I think the time has come to adjourn the 4-blocks meeting and make way for letter of the week.....
LynnM - hahaha, jen, I LIKE that one!
Nancy - We call it SNIB-Stick Your Nose in a Book
LynnM - I will email the ring as soon as we are off here and let you know how to get those forms from me
Stacy - Thank you for all your help. I will look for your forms. Talk to you soon.
LynnM - I love that Nancy!
Jen - That's another good one, Nancy.
LynnM - nothing like leaving with a smile!
LynnM - take care and good luck!
