Kat/Kathleen - erin! hi :-) good to see you, illustrator Erin Mauterer, creator of the Molly face you see in the left frame
erinm - Hi everyone, great to be here again!
Kat/Kathleen - Erin, the last time we chatted, Outside was eagerly awaited. What is the next book in the series and when will it be out?
erinm - I just finished the final paintings for the latest, BREWSTER, I'm not sure when it will be released.
Kat/Kathleen - Erin, are there new characters in Brewster?
erinm - You bet, the title character, Brewster is a slobbery bulldog with lots of charm!
Mary K&1 - When is Brewster going to be out?
erinm - I think they may be trying to get it out for the June book show.. hope so!
Mary K&1 - Are Spooker and Dude in "Brewster"?
erinm - Absolutely! aren't they fun?!
erinm - In this new book, Molly once again, gets out and meets a new friend, Brewster. He is wonderful, loveable and takes care of our Molly
Kat/Kathleen - Erin, any book signings planned for California?
Kat/Kathleen - Illustrated by Erin Mauterer: Musk Ox Babies of the Far North http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0964775654/teachersnet
erinm - No book signings as yet... I'm ready though!
Mary K&1 - My kids really liked those two cats - Spooker and Dude - I teach Kinder Kids
Kat/Kathleen - Erin, is it difficult to keep the same faces appearing on characters in each book?
erinm - Hey, the musk ox babies! There's also another in the series called Alaska Llama: Far North Hero
erinm - No, Kat, not really, I like the continuity, it builds the characters more and more
Kat/Kathleen - There is also this: Illustrated by Erin Mauterer: We Both Read: The Three Little Pigs
erinm - The three little pigs is a great one, it's very cartoony, and it's a we-read type of book you read with a parent. Very fun and sarcastic
Mary K&1 - Is Sally Ann going to be in a book soon?
erinm - I just finished another in that series too, called The New Red Bed. I'm waiting for Sally ann to appear. Maybe a christmas book?
Dianne - Will we see the faces of Honey & Mother Mary?
erinm - We probably wont see any human faces yet anyway, I think Joe wants to see the animals only at this point.
Lisatheminion - I did hear that Sally Ann appears in the Christmas Book
erinm - In the next book, Brewster, we find out more about Molly
Kat/Kathleen - Erin, has the Molly Christmas book been delayed? I expected it in 1998
erinm - As far as I know, the Christmas book has always been scheduled after the Brewster book. Brewster got pushed back somewhat, so that may change the next books schedule.
Lisatheminion - I heard Joe wanted to wait until Christmas 2000 for the Christmas book.
erinm - The Chrismas book promises to be a very special one, too! I'm excited to begin it.
Cheri - Joe said that he is TRYING to get here
Kat/Kathleen - Cheri, trying to get here, having difficulty?
erinm - In the next book Brewster, we find out more about Molly's mother from Spooker.
Kat/Kathleen - I just heard from Joe, he is trying to log on but can't
Mary K&1 - Erin, the last time you were here, you said that your father was a combat artist. I was too shy to ask at that time, but I would like to know - where did he do his work? Was he really present in combat situations?
erinm - Dad is a retired Lt. Col in the Marines, he did a lot of on site research which later appeard in military magazines.
erinm - He would go to the sites, take it all in, and recreate it on his canvasses. he also did this as a courtroom artist for ABC during Watergate!!
Mary K&1 - I guess he didn't paint many pictures of kitty cats.
erinm - Thanks everyone for joining the chat! Many ask if I went to school for art, I think I inherited most. Yes, I do bettter kitties than my daddy! But he's always quick to give me a few 'pointers!'
Applelady - How many Molly books are there?
erinm - There are three Molly books out, and one on the way....hmmm... sounds like grandkids, huh?
Kat/Kathleen - unclegene, go ahead with your question
unclegene - you certainly inherited your dad's talent!!!
rockie - ilive in co.havent read any yet but heard joe is planning one about a dragoon
Michelle from NY - hello, my class is enjoying all the Molly books
erinm - Hey unclegene! Ain't it the truth!!!!
MontanaRE - Erin, I would like to tell you how beautiful your illustrations are!!
Tony & Mona - The fourth Molly book will be just in time for the third grandchild.
erinm - Michelle, I'm glad you all enjoy Molly and her stories, she seems to be popular where ever I do a talk. The kids love her!, and of course, I always have to draw her right there on the spot!
MontanaRE - They capture my 5 year olds attention and they try to draw from your pictures...
erinm - Thanks, Montana, I love my work, WHAT?? third grandchild?
Elaine - Who's third grandchild?
jenny/nc - erin-hello! When or how do you decide to illustrate a book? Have you done others?
rockie - did you ever take any classes in art? does joe plan on any time to come to Colorado?
Michelle from NY - You do have lovely illustrations, my students did their own stories to continue what they thought would be a new adventure
erinm - Molly is about a mischievous kitty. The third grandchild, I just found out is on the way for some good friend.
Tony & Mona - Yes, Kim & Richie are expecting in Sept., we need another autographed book.
erinm - Jenny, someone will present me with a manuscript. Depending on my schedule at the time, the subject of the book, I decide if I can work it in my schedule. I usually make room for cats!!!
jenny/nc - have you illustrated other books?
erinm - Usually, I am approached by editors or art agecies. Often by authors themselves, but it is very difficult for an author to get in without an agent.
erinm - Check my website to find out my other books, and to get more of them. it's at www.erinm.com
Mary K&1 - http://www.erinm.com
erinm - I do have an agent, and she finds a lot of projects for me. It definitely keeps me hopping. Mary K, what does the logo look like?
Joe on phone w/kat - Joe is with us
Joe on phone w/kat - I'm trying to log on
erinm - It's a catch 22 to get published. Because you need an agent to get in, and an agent will pick you up mostly if you're established.
Joe on phone w/kat - Throw some questions at me (hi, Erin, doll)
erinm - Hey Joe, it's about time, my fingers are gettin numb!!
Joe on phone w/kat - I'm getting numb from trying to get in there
Joni Cannoli - Hi Joe. How are you, Pal?
erinm - Joe, you're funnnnnneeee!!!
Joe on phone w/kat - Joni, I wish you well, you funny woman, buy a book!
Applelady - Since I am such a great fan of your music, I would love to know how your writing career began!! Plus, I kind of like Phila (my birthplace)!!
jenny/nc - I am so delighted that you are an author-your talents are never-ending! Thank you for all the wonderful years of music as well.
Lisatheminion - Buy 3 books!
Joni Cannoli - I'm waiting for you to come here so you can autograph them for me!
Joe on phone w/kat - Someday, Joni,
Paula - Joey, tell s about the 4th book. When will it be out? What is it about?
Tony & Mona - Great chatting with you, talk to you soon!!!!
erinm - Thanks for stoppin in M&T!
Joe on phone w/kat - My writing career began one night in a hotel room, on a road trip, lonely for home and my cats, I just started to write a story about Molly my cat
Dianne - When is the Christmas book coming out?
Joe on phone w/kat - I have always enjoyed writing, even now I have several novels in the works
Deb - Hi Joe, Kathryn thinks your Molly books are great, and we think you are too.
Joe on phone w/kat - I'm working on Molly Christmas story, hopefully for Christmas 2000, perhaps the title will be A Molly Christmas
dub wize - is that Licky Larry on the cover of The Home?
erinm - Licky Larrrry!!!!!!! You remembered, Dub!!
Elaine - Erin, if you live in N.J. and Joe lives in Tenn. and travels alot how do you communicate? Do you wait for him to finish writing and then you illustrate the pictures?
Cheri - cute title
Mary K&1 - Are Spooker and Dude real and will there ever be pictures of them on your site?
Mary K&1 - My kids want to know
Joe on phone w/kat - Spooker and Dude, great question! They are real cats. Unfortunatley they have gone to The Better Place and I have no pictures of them, but erin's illustrations pretyy much capture the essence of the real Spooker and Dude
Mary K&1 - My kids aren't going to like that :o(
Joe on phone w/kat - Kathryn, I appreciate that
erinm - Elaine, Joe and I are in contact often (when his computer is working!!) and we often discuss the characters and the story. It rounds it out nicely
Michelle from NY - Greetings from NY, Hi Joe My students are excited and I am expected back in school tomorrow with a full report on what we discussed , the most important question from my students you need to answer is: how do you decide on the adventures that Molly goes through? Besides you and your family watching him?
Joe on phone w/kat - Michelle, I pretty much make up the adventures. I have based my characters on my real cats, personalities and all. but as a writer I have taken much liberty with my imagination
Joe on phone w/kat - Incidentally, Molly has never been out of the home.
Deb/WI - Joe do any of your cats have quirky behaviors and does that get written into your stories?
Bob R/CA - Joe, I understand you're involved with some literacy philanthropy (I saw it on Animal Planet) can you tell us about that?
Joe on phone w/kat - My foundation, Joseph S and Mary Bonsall foundation is explained at http://www.josephsbonsall.com/pages/foundation.html As the result of the success of Mollly we are trying to do some good for children's literacy and ed and for animal causes
Dianne - When will Sally Ann be in a book?
Joe on phone w/kat - I do have plans for Sally Ann to be in a book someday, perhaps Christmas, but book 4 Brewster does not have Sally Ann in it and she is miffed about this
erinm - Thank goodness!!
erinm - I mean that you've taken liberties. As far as molly gettin outside, she ALWAYS gets in trouble!!
Mary K&1 - I used the 3 existing books with my Kinder Kids. They loved them and wanted more. I really like how the books lead on the the next. For example, my kids quickly an without hesitation predicted the title of "Outside" after we read "The Home". Will future books contain any "flashbacks" to memories in the past books?
Donna - Do your cats like Mother Mary better than they do you?
Elaine - Joe, I know that you said originally there would be six books in the series. If all goes well, will there be more stories or are you planning to write about something else?
Joe on phone w/kat - I know I said 6 origianlly, but I believe that there can be no end to the Molly books as long as they are succesful and someone wants to publish them, I have lots of ideas for Molly and the continution of the series, and my creettive juices are flowing in other directions
Paula - When can we expect book 4 Brewster to be out?
Michelle from NY - that is what I am trying to teach my students to do use their imagination and show them the results of what that can do, your books show my kids just that. And what other novels? Can you give us any hints? Will they be for children or adults?
Joe on phone w/kat - Oak Ridge Boys is a priority, but in my writing career, Molly is a priority
Lisa S./Faye - How many book signings have you and Erin done together and will you be doing any more in the near future? Lisa S.
Sharon - I was curious about the other novels also. Will all of your books be about cats?
Deb/WI - This is exciting Joe and Erin! I'm hoping to find the funding to get the books for my ESL
students.
Joe on phone w/kat - I understand a good bit about what teachers go through as far as funding projects and doing their job
Joe on phone w/kat - My brother in law is a dedicated teacher in S. Carolina
Joe on phone w/kat - It's amazing to me how many projects he funds out of his own pocket. Incredible dedication, the system can certainly use some help
Cinder - I am new here, so forgive me if this was covered already, but Molly now has T-shirts for sale. Where can these be purchased?
Michelle from NY - does your wife or any other family member write?
Joe on phone w/kat - My wife, Mary, Mother Mary does some writing, she has an unpublished work called the I love Book
Cinder - Erin how many kitties do you have?
erinm - I have three cats right now, Joeii, Estelle and Wendy... plenty of reference for the books.....
Elaine - Each year I read your books to the children in my class and they always want to know more but I have to tell them that you haven't finished them yet.
Mary K&1 - Is Joe free to tell us a bit about Mother Mary's "I Love" books?
Paula - Perhaps YOU will teach someday!
Dianne - What about future titles of Molly Books?
Deb/WI - That's the truth Joe. I do a lot of things out of my pocket because I want my kids to have the joy of reading.
erinm - Any cats, Cinder?
Mary K&1 - On what reading level are the "I Love" Books? - emergent, I hope
Joe on phone w/kat - My Mary's books are not yet published,
Deb/WI - I think anyone with cats has a lot of fun things for writers. My two are a riot! LOL
Joe on phone w/kat - Ideal's books, my publisher, has just signed on with a new promotions agency to promote Molly. As this relationship grows, I will be doing a lot more book signings
Cinder - I am a cat Erin! Haha!
Joe on phone w/kat - I will say this, on May 11, the Oak Ridge Boys and myself will be hosting a big dinner for Nashville Reads a fabulous group that supports literacy here in Nashville
Cinder - Mary, will you be doing some book signings with Joe in the future?
Joe on phone w/kat - No schedule for books signings yet, they will be publicizing signings on the Molly site
lala - What advice do you have for someone trying to break into writing?
Deb/WI - That's great Joe.
Cinder - That is cool Joe about the May 11th dinner.
Elaine - Joe, I know several people asked but I haven't seen answer as to when the fourth book is due out? I will be in South Carolina the end of June to see your show and I hope I can get your new book by then so you can sign it.
Cinder - Joe do you have any book signings planned for this spring?
PVLFan - I'm new here too. Joe, any chance that the other Oaks will make a guest appearance in a future book?
Mary K&1 - The Oaks are the wrong kind of Cats for the Molly Books, aren't they?
erinm - Joe, have you seen the finish illustrations for Brewster yet? When do you think it will be released?
Cheri - Is that 'Nashville Reads' part of a national organization or just something local?
Dianne - Who designed the Molly shirt?
Joe on phone w/kat - The MollytheCat.com shirts were designed by a young man named Patrick Kelly here in Nashville
Michelle from NY - Does Mother Mary want them published?
Joe on phone w/kat - Mother Mary does want her books published
Joe on phone w/kat - OUr little granddaugher Breanne inspired Mother Mary to write
Mary K&1 - I want to buy them - I love ... is a great thematic unit for Kinder Kids!
Joe on phone w/kat - Mary, Mother Mary thanks for that, they will be available at Mollythecat.com
Cinder - How are all the kitties at the Home tonight?
Joe on phone w/kat - Hi, Cinder, meow from Molly ;-)
Cinder - Meow Molly and Mother Mary!
Joe on phone w/kat - Sally Ann just walked by, acting miffed still :-)
Cinder - Does Breanne have a cat?
Michelle from NY - That's nice that you can support each other in writing.
Joe on phone w/kat - Pumpkin is lying right here with Mother Mary and Molly was asleep on the couch but has slipped upstairs
Mary K&1 - How old is Pumpkin? If I knew, I forgot ..
Joe on phone w/kat - Pumpkin is 17 years old
Mary K&1 - WOW!!!
Joe on phone w/kat - a very handsome and youthful 17
Deb/WI - Molly reminds me of my tubby tabby when she's about to attack my plants or my feet! LOL
Cinder - Do the cats at the Home bother indoor plants at all?
erinm - .. Sally Ann wants to get into the book action, I'm sure!
Elaine - Is Molly the most mischeivous?
Cinder - I, as a cat enjoy any green leafy thing I can feast on!
PVLFan - Joe, the Oaks fans at the message board have enjoyed hearing of Molly's adventures -any chance those will continue on the board?
Joe on phone w/kat - PVL, I hope so, book 4 comes out next Fall and Brewster the wonderful bulldog will star
BDA_GIRL - Thank you
sadie/wi - Hi joe....how do you balance your singing, writing, and family?
BDA_GIRL - Are you talking to Kathleen
Cinder - Erin, how long have you been illustrating childrens' books? You are very very talented!!
Deb/WI - LOL Cinder. I know my plants aren't safe with my two around.
Dianne - How old are your other cats, Joe?
Mary K&1 - Who has litter box duty tonight?
erinm - Thanks Cinder.. I've been at the books for about 8 years now. And loving every minute of it! Thanks!
Deb/WI - Mary in my house I always have litter box duty. My hubby won't touch that with a ten foot pole! LOL
Joe on phone w/kat - PHEW, here's Joe:-)
Mary K&1 - Did Sally Ann really sit on your shoulder durning a book signing?
Joseph Bonsall - hello everyone
Marlene - I am just wondering if Joe has dedicated a book to Uri yet?
Mary K&1 - Hi Joe
Mary K&1 - Kathleen, you did good :o)
erinm - So, Joe, you finally got Molly off the keyboard....!!
Cheri - Glad you made it Joe ;-)
Joseph Bonsall - thanks KAT
Kat/Kathleen - Well, Joe is here, sort of
Kat/Kathleen - My pleasure, Joe:-)
Joni Cannoli - Earlier, someone asked how to get started if they want to write. Joe, wouldn't you agree, you just sit down and DO IT! Every day
Joseph Bonsall - joni writing has to be done, no way to explain how,
Kat/Kathleen - Kat is collapsing with a stiff neck, laryngitis and aching fingers :-/ :-)
Mary K&1 - Joe, My students' guesses as to the voice that Molly hears have been as good as mine. Will this mystery continue, or will a specific source be identified in the future? I kind of like the mystery, myself and would like to see it continue.
JODEE - Joe, you are an inspiration. You never give up, even trying to get in here!
erinm - Kat, you're a trooper, Meee-OWW!!
Deb/WI - Here you go Kat! Nice strong neck rub!

Kat/Kathleen - purrrrrrrrrrrrrr ;-)
Deb/WI - Must be the night for it Joe, mine kicked me off also.
Kat/Kathleen - Joe found that he was unable to connect with any site on the Internet. Now it seems ok
Kat/Kathleen - Throw some questions to Joe and he can field them as best as he can

Lisa S./Faye - Will there be any other Molly related items coming out besides the t-shirt? Lisa S.
Joseph Bonsall - Faye there will be other products eventuually
Deb/WI - Joe can the Molly books be ordered directly from your website?
Joseph Bonsall - Mary K the voice of Molly on mollythecat.com is the webmasters daughter
sadie/wi - joe, how do you balance singing, writing, and family?
Joseph Bonsall - sadie balance has to be worked out, needs Love and Support
PVLFan - Joe, this isn't about Molly, but any chance that you will do an autobiography in the future? I think you have some interesting stories to tell (& inspiring)?
Joseph Bonsall - PVL thanks my friend tyhere has been interest in a bio, maybe someday when the time is right
Michelle from NY - How do the other Oaks feel about your success?
Joseph Bonsall - Michelle The other Oaks are proud of my sucees with Molly
Cinder - Hi PVLFan from your internet friend!!
Deb/WI - Erin does the picture of Molly, on the left, come in a poster size?
PVLFan - Hi Cinder!
Mary K&1 - No I mean in the books, Molly hears a voice, but it's not real clear exactly what or who the voice belongs to - is it the God of All Creatures or Molly's Mother, or is it going to remain a mystery left up to the reader?
erinm - Deb/WI re; Molly's pic at left, I don't know if it is available as a poster. It's cute, huh? She's such a dolly!
Cinder - Erin, have you drawn Sally Ann yet?
Deb/WI - I would love to have a poster of that to put next to my other cat posters in my room. That's a great picture.
Michelle from NY - That is great! Support and love is everything ! With that you can accomplish all your dreams.
Joseph Bonsall - BTW HI ERIN!!!!!!!
Elaine - Joe, I know that you said that you had problems with the phrase God of All Creatures that they wanted you to take it out. I like it in but I have to be very careful when I read them in school because we are told not to bring up this subject. Have you heard any complaints about this?
Joseph Bonsall - Elaine, There was a publisher who would NOT publish books because of reference to God, I believe that our country is in deep trouble when The God of All Creatures cannott be mentioned
Mary K&1 - I teach in a public school and I have read all 3 books to my kids (Kinder) and not one complaint did I get about "The God of all Creatures" ... It makes sense to the kids
Elaine - There was a teacher in NY that got into trouble for mentioning religion in school. I believe she lost her job.
Kat/Kathleen - I think embedded in a piece of fiction, that reference shouldn't be any problem at all, even in public school
erinm - You would think not...
Joseph Bonsall - In all honesty, i have not heard of any trouble and I have read to many classrooms
Deb/WI - Joe, I think it depends on the parents. Some parents get ballistic over just seeing the word God in a book. It all depends on how the classroom teacher handles it and the administrator.
Michelle from NY - As long as you don't preach you should not have any problems. That's what my principal told me.
Joseph Bonsall - I agree with Michelle
Michelle from NY - In fact, he loves the books, I showed him my unit on Molly and he loved it.
Cinder - Are there more changes coming to Mollythecat.com?
erinm - Cinder, I HAVE done a sketch or two of Sally Ann, cause she's so darn cute!! Can't wait to get her in there for real. You kitties are just too irresistable!
Kat/Kathleen - One way to order Molly: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1571021221/teachersnet/
Cheri - 'Molly' mouse pads would be fun too :-)
erinm - Hey Joe, HIYA yourself! Glad you could get in here, I was getting lonely for my other half!!
Joseph Bonsall - LOL Erin
Cinder - Yes us kitties are quite special, if I do say so myself. Much cuter than dogs!
Deb/WI - Good idea Cheri!
erinm - Molly mouse pads would have to be her little pink mousie, right?? That would be CUUUTE!
Cinder - Mouse pads, calendars, CD's, heck what ever you come up with, would be just great, Honey!
Deb/WI - As an administrator I would have no problems with Joe's books. Sometimes I think districts go to crazy about little things and blow them out of proportion.
Paula - ny chance Molly books will be out on tape?
Joseph Bonsall - Paula not sure if Books will be on Audio tape or not???
Cheri - most of the schools HERE do not have a problem with it mentioned the books as it is NOT preaching a religon
Cinder - Mother Mary, do you do any work with the local Humane Society in TN?
Joseph Bonsall - Cinder yes I do MM Joe and I and The Foundation are working closely with Nashville right now
Mary K&1 - Amazon is taking orders for Brewster - they'll send it as soon as they get them in
Paula - Thanks, Joey, just thought it would be neat to hear the cat's "voices"
Kat/Kathleen - To order Outside: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1571021302/teachersnet/
lala - Joe - I'm going to sound like a broken record, but I'm really interested in knowing what advice you would give to hopeful writers waiting to be published?
Joseph Bonsall - lala, all I can say is that if you enjoy writing, you must write!!! if the work is worthy, eventually peole will read it
lala - Thanks Joe. I'll be waiting anxiously for the next book.
erinm - Lala, I agree with Joe, even though it may seem a huge task, if you write and enjoy what you do, that comes first, and eventually, it will shine through.
Kat/Kathleen - To order The Home: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/157102123X/teachersnet
Elaine - Well I have not had any problems with my class this year but I have had a class that I know I would have had trouble. It was the parents and what they tell their children.
Cinder - Erin, have you done other books too?
Kat/Kathleen - Joe, how does one find the right publisher?
Joseph Bonsall - i went to many publishers before I found Ideal's it was hard work. Something has to click
Joseph Bonsall - Erin tell them about the 3 pigs
Kat/Kathleen - Illustrated by Erin Mauterer: Musk Ox Babies of the Far North http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0964775654/teachersnet
Elaine - I have read your other articles you have written on the Oaks web site and you certainly do have a gift for writing.
Kat/Kathleen - Illustrated by Erin Mauterer: We Both Read: The Three Little Pigs http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1891327054/teachersnet
Gal4dsny - Joey- what about "Molly the Movie" any plans?
erinm - I've done some fun, books, Joe mentioned the three little pigs. Quite a departure from the Molly books. Very sarcastic and cartoony. Funnnnn!!
Kat/Kathleen - erin, did you post the url for your site?
Joseph Bonsall - The Molly movie will be released by Disney in 2005 (oh well, a guy can dream)
lala - Thanks Erin. We just keep plugging away! Night all!
Joseph Bonsall - I really DO believe that Molly will be a Movie someday
erinm - I'll do it again, it's http://www.erinm.com. You can see my book titles there, and more of my artwork too!
Kat/Kathleen - LOL, Joe, why not dream? that's Disney specialty, look what it did for them!
Michelle from NY - Dreams can come true!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cinder - Cool, a Movie!
Gal4dsny - I do too--- there's always Dreamworks
Paula - We do too, Joey
erinm - Hey, Joe, if you go to Disney, can I come too?!
Joseph Bonsall - You can see a pic of Erin amd Me in the mollythecat.com photo gallery
Deb/WI - That would be great as a movie it sounds like to me.
Mary K&1 - Erin, ever do animation?
Joseph Bonsall - wouldn't go without you Erin, Brewster is your most disneyesqe illus yet
Mary K&1 - Or will the movie be a Babe type - with taking real animals?
erinm - Joe, we have to do a book signing again soon. Lets skip Georgetown, though!! Mary K, I would LOVE to do animation. So many ask about that because my stills look so animated. I just don't know how to get in...
Joseph Bonsall - I Love Ol' Brew
Gal4dsny - is there a picture of Brewster on the site yet?
Mary K&1 - Is he real - Brewster?
Joseph Bonsall - there is a pic of Brew at mollythecat.com
Paula - When do we get to see Ol' Brew???
Deb/WI - We'd love to have you come to West Central Wisconsin. We don't get many book signing up this way unless someone comes to Borders.
Cinder - Mother Mary, you mentioned recently about real fur cat toys. Any further developements on this story to report?
Joseph Bonsall - Cinder no more news on real fur toys, just be aware MM
Cinder - Thank you MM!
Joseph Bonsall - My son in law owned a slobbering bulldog named Brewster, he was miserable though, I have made my Brewster goofy and lovable
Kat/Kathleen - erin, do you visit classrooms?
Mary K&1 - Erin, Our local University teaches animation, maybe a U near you can give you some leads
erinm - Thanks, Mary K, and yes, Kat I often go to the elementary schools and read and show artwork, and of course draw for the kids. They eat it up!
erinm - I play this fun game with the kids where they make a scribble on a huge paper, and I make something out of it. It's such fun, they really take it with them.
Michelle from NY - If this question was already asked, ignore it. Erin how long have you been illustrating and how did
you hook up with Joe?
erinm - Michelle, I got together with Joe after he chose my art style from a handful of artists, so I feel very honored and fortunate. It's been a wonderful ride so far! I've been illustrating most of my life. Actually making aliving of it for the past 12 years.
Cinder - Do your daughters have any cats?
Joseph Bonsall - My daughters have no kitties Sabrina had a cat that passed away named Sealy Blue
Applelady - Joe and Erin, Just come to central Florida for that signing - right in the heart of Disney!!1
Mary K&1 - Joe, Brewster wasn't loading last night - at the site
Cinder - Can we buy T-shirts at Oak Concerts?
Joseph Bonsall - Cinder mollythecat.com tee shirts are only availible at mollythecat.com
Kat/Kathleen - The Teachers.Net Booklist page features dozens of authors and illustrator and their works, including Joe and Erin: http://teachers.net/bookshelf/shopping/lit_frame.html
Mary K&1 - Ever think of marketing "Molly Litter"
Lisa S./Faye - I would love to hear examples on how Molly has been used in the class room with other teachers. Any suggestions on where to go with this?Where can my students send letter to you Erin?
Kat/Kathleen - Molly litter, now that is a novel idea :-)
Joseph Bonsall - I appreciate this opportunity KAT
Kat/Kathleen - Joe, you sure are a trouper! Thanks for hanging in there in spite of the Internet problems
Joseph Bonsall - Molly Litter NO Cat food and toys and catnip YES
Cheri - A teacher friend of mine uses the Molly books in a 'pet unit' to help teach kids (second grade) that animals have feelings too
