Jimmy T - We begin our discussion on four topics:

Jimmy T - Changes prerequisites for the community colleges courses in drafting to assure student enrollment while the ability of students to benefit from instruction maintaining
Jimmy T - One thing I ask all of you in the department at WCC is to e-mail me a list of whether you would have the pre-requites for courses you tech characterized as level one or level two
Jimmy T - Level One will be enforce by the computer at registration.
Jimmy T - Level Two will not be enforced by the computer.
Jimmy T - During the Fall 01 registration, enrollment was difficult for our CAD students.
Jimmy T - All of our students.
Barry - level two show up where?
Jimmy T - In the FA01 Schedule of Classes
Barry - as what?
Jimmy T - Correction: Level two will show up on the ON-Line schedule for WI 02
Jimmy T - Everything in FA01 was a level one.
Jimmy T - Now we are asked to make the distinction now that Level two is to be allowed.
Barry - Will level two show up as a preq. or something else?
Jimmy T - Let's take CAD 101 as an example from FA01.
Jimmy T - You need to tell me if (p.142 FA01 Schedule) you want "College Entrance Scores" to be level one or two.
Jimmy T - I imagine level two will be listed below the Prerequisite: L1
Jimmy T - and L2:
Jimmy T - I don't know the mechanics of the on-line but I guess WI02 Schedule has already come back from printers.
Barry - How can we know what is in the schedule?
Jimmy T - We submitted and revised the WI 02 schedule many times.
Jimmy T - Registration for continuing students begins Nov. 5th
Jimmy T - I have the courses we submitted for scheduling here
Barry - OK we can re do our prereqs. for nest term . Dowe have to redo all our Syllibi?
frank - can we pick a different example-cad101 has no pre-reqs
Jimmy T - No, but there is that new form I sent - just list all the classes it will be ok no need for sylabi form
Jimmy T - We can use any course as an example.
Jimmy T - Submit a list of the level one and level 2 pre-req.s. for the classes you are responsible for offering WI 02 please
Barry - so only the computer will know.
Jimmy T - CAD 101, 103,111,113 etc. - Only we will tell the computer what it knows.
Jimmy T - WE CAN STILL WAIVE pre-requisites that are level one!
Jimmy T - It just proves to be difficult to find us during registration peaks

Barry - sorry to change the subject but why are we having a meeting like this? I find it very slow and my typing makes it tedious.
Jimmy T - You don't have to use these forms - you could reinvent the wheel (Frank).
Jimmy T - The short notice by our supervisor & the obligations of our colleagues to be off campus.
Jimmy T - Frank spent his $3.50 though I would have requistioned his reimbursement (from home internet)
Jimmy T - We use DOE performance objectives from the 70's as an outcome assessment tool for that program.
Jimmy T - They have been updated to include CAD and other knowlege and skill areas not around back then.
Jimmy T - We also use student and industry surveys.
Jimmy T - Remember CAD is a academic program at WCC as well as a term for the tool.
Jimmy T - We also use a departmental exam in a certain courses and a portfolio review.
Jimmy T - These are tied into the PART1-4 forms I emailed you.
Jimmy T - These need to be ready for our Dec. 6th meeting.
Jimmy T - Frank will not be able to attend that one.
Barry - OK we need to divide up the work on these forms.
Jimmy T - Where is Mike? Alaska?
Jimmy T - Exactly my point.
Barry - Maybe he hasn't looked at his email yet.
Jimmy T - Belinda is excused absent, I spoke with her yesterday.

Barry - but we do seem to have a hard time meeting

Jimmy T - Many of these forms, you will need to place your name, content on it
Jimmy T - It was in the WINZIP file of the last email sent you.
Barry - we only need forms 1-4 right? or is there more?
Jimmy T - The name of the file was arti-sub.doc
Barry - are those forms all up-to-date.
Jimmy T - I had trouble last year getting part time instructors to participate in outcomes assessment instrument administration.
Jimmy T - I am not sure all the forms are updated.
Barry - this is fun jim but since it's just you and me can't I jus call you?

Jimmy T - It is just the same as your Advisory Committee annual report embellished with the Assessment Results for student learning outcomes you planned on the syallabi

Jimmy T - The for extra files are phase1.doc throuth phase4.doc from the O: drive

Barry - I got a lot of zip files but Ican/t tell what thy are until I open them
