eduKate - I studied Occupational Therapy for a few years and the credits transferred... but in MI if you get a Spec. Cert. you are guaranteed to work in sped. and not nec. in your area.
meeeha/tx/ece - Kate -- does that mean you're going to teach PPI ... or there is one room between your room and a PPI classroom?
eduKate - I prefer the regular ed. classroom

meeeha/tx/ece - NO WAY I'd consider a different area of SPED -- I love my bitty-bits, that is where I stay!
eduKate - We have a list of tests we HAVE to give... never mind the theory behind readiness

eduKate - First grade teachers have it worse, I think

eduKate - I am so impressed with how the MLPP really spells how who needs what
eduKate - It's helped our school district with literacy instruction a lot

Melissa/MI/first - yeah it makes it all worth it...now's the time when I get the true teaching rewards
eduKate - I agree... these past 2 weeks I see huge gains

eduKate - I think what kills me the worse is not having more help in the classroom.

eduKate - I'd like to do more smaller groups... but am a lone for most of the day
eduKate - But, I'm surviving... yes, assessments are all one on one, too
eduKate - that's just the LA ones, too

eduKate - first, I had a parent cut the tops off leaving the handles, they looked like giant scoops
meeha/ece/tx - cut a hole toward the top, leaving handle intact ... staple "ears" to back, draw or hot glue eyes, draw in faial features ...
Melissa - you can make bunnies with them
eduKate - I used die cut machine to cut tissue paper and crepe paper hearts

meeha/ece/tx - They can paint on them ... you just decide what you want them to do -- if freehand or using templates ... sometimes it is actually easier to use sharpie markers!
