Kathie - How do you manage to separate math, reading, etc. and feel like you are doing a good job teaching, as well as covering topics/subjects?

Paulie2 - well I was not born here moved here from idaho where I ahd three principals to visit on recommendation of a friend BUT they all said they don't hire the district office does

Just Me/Mi - When there is a death the teacher(s) involved present the child(ren) involved with a teddy bear. I have the class sit in a circle and give it hugs before I take it to the child. Then when I present it I tell the child that it is filled with hugs from the class. The staff takes up a collection and either buys a savings bond for each child or if the family needs the money we give it to the family.

Just Me/Mi - I think the mom wanted things to be over ASAP to go on with their life. Things have been difficult for them for quite awhile from what I gathered at the funeral. The minister did a wonderful job of comforting everyone but by his words you could tell that life has not been easy for this family.

Just Me/Mi - He came from another district where he didn't talk. He was in our Preprimary Impared class last year, was reevaluated, and they felt he was only mildly autistic so now he is in general ed with no other support except speech.

Just Me/Mi - He was ok last week but now that his dad has died I don't know how he will be. He is very quiet . I hope he does not become more withdrawn. The counselor and I will watch him closely.

Just Me/Mi - He may be back tomorrow but will be moving from PM to AM (student #25) and I will be gaining a new one, #26

Just Me/Mi - He was supposed to be in AM but dad had him switched. Now that dad is gone, mom has no one to care for him in the AM. I agreed to move him to AM before finding out I was getting another student.

Just Me/Mi - I may use Friday for volunteers. So far I haven't asked for any because I wanted to get to know the parents better. We started 5th grade buddies today. They are a great help to me.
