naneb - Hi, Mae, how are you tonight?
Mae - Hi naneb! Fine. And you?
Kim/K/SCa - ((Mae and Naneb.....)))
Mae - Hi Kim!
Kim/K/SCa - Last day today....very emotional. I feel wrung out. How are you?
Mae - Get this...I bought a resource book on poetry. I just now opened it up and in the forward was a reference to Tnet!
Kim/K/SCa - Which one?
naneb - Hi, Mae and Kim
naneb - Hi, Judy
Kim/K/SCa - ((((Judy!)))
judy3ca - Hi everyone! Mae, which book was it? What did it say?
sissylove - I just can't get enough of that Danielle Steel. She's a real profesional
judy3ca - Oh, Kim, don't you just hate the last day? Are you okay?
Mae - Hi Judy! It's from Steck-Vaughn. It's called Comprehension Activities in Poetry 4th Grade. The reference referred to Tnet if you wanted more info. on 4B
Kim/K/SCa - Yes....very emotional. I can't get over........they gathered up 200 of my former students and they all sang to me.........truly wonderful.
sissylove - Kim, aren't you the one who likes reading about dead dogs?
naneb - Mae, what color is the cover? I think I might have that book
Mae - Kim - that is soooooooo sweet!
naneb - sissylove, are you a teacher?
Mae - The cover is white with a picture of a window frame - an outside tree/grass scene.
Kim/K/SCa - (((Bradley!!))) Smooch smooch........
naneb - hmmmm, I think the one I have is green, guess it is a different book
Mae - I just saw it right when I logged on - I was thumbing through it!
Brad/3 - KIm, I am so sorry, I still haven't learned to use that scanner
Mary/PA - Kim, I'm fine, I hope uyou are too
Brad/3 - Hey, Mae, good to "see" you again.
Mae - Comprehension Activities in Poetry 4th Grade
Kim/K/SCa - Yeah, well.......you are keeping me in SUSPENSE....
Kim/K/SCa - Hellooooo Sharon!
Brad/3 - Or should I say, "Good to sensory image you again?"
Mae - Hi Sharon!
Brad/3 - Kim, Let's just say she is still a nuthouse
Mae - That's right Brad - picture me as young and thin!!!
Mary/PA - Mae, thanks, who is the author?
Mae - PICTURE being the sensory image word
Kim/K/SCa - But, Mae..........ARE'NT you young and thin? (wink wink)
KathyB1stIA - hi, all... been reading all of your comments before joining!
Brad/3 - Judy, I was so excited for you to go to 6 traits, I hope you can share more on the boards
Mary/PA - Aren't we all?
naneb - Hi, Kathy
Mae - It's a Steck Vaughn book - no author - just editors- must be an inside job
naneb - Mae, I think my book like that is from Scholastic
Sharon - judy, judy, judy... bought any more books today
Brad/3 - we're all here celebrating Prince William's twentieth
judy3ca - Oh, darn it, Brad, the first thing you say to me makes me want to run downstairs to get something to share with you, LOL. BRB
Kim/K/SCa - ((Kathy))long time no talk to ........ LOL....
Mary/PA - Mae, could you do us a big favor?
Glenda 1st TN - Hi everyone
Brad/3 - LOL, I always keep judy in shape
Kim/K/SCa - ((Glenda and Rudy))
Sharon - hi glenda
Brad/3 - hey glenda, no orange?
naneb - (((((((((((((Glenda, Jan)))))))))))))))
Brad/3 - OH, goody, Jan's here with the bloomin' ragout
KathyB1stIA - Kim, I think it is wonderful how everyone gathered for you on Thursday. And to have your hubby there, too.!
Mae - Let the party begin! Judy - what did you learn on 6 traits?
judy3ca - Sharon, what did you buy? pant, pant
Rudy - Hi all.
Glenda 1st TN - Sorry Im late, I was reading STW and the time got away from me.
naneb - Glenda, did you hear me holler at you? I leaned out the window as we drove by!!!
judy3ca - Jan!!! Hello, glad you're here!
Mae - Hi Glenda!
Jan - Didn't get the ragout made. I have been on the chatboard all day working out the California Standards.
Sharon - i've been goo... only bought one book... it's called water dance... nice book though
Brad/3 - Maybe she didn't recognize you Nan (wink wink)
Kim/K/SCa - Please forgive me for neglecting the board this week. I have been up to my armpits in alligators. Chomp chomp.
Glenda 1st TN - No, I guess the earthquake had me distracted.
Brad/3 - Oh, Glenda, wipe that brown off your nose
Mae - Hi Jan! I didn't see you sneek in!
Sharon - i wasn't "goo", i was "good" ACK!
Brad/3 - Glenda, are you talking about Tuesday
Jan - earthquake? In Tennessee? I thought they were only for US!
Glenda 1st TN - oops, I did end up with brown.
Mae - I found ANOTHER book today!
judy3ca - Okay, here's one from the 6 Traits workshop. Mae and Brad, I ran all the way downstairs for this. Okay, he read a great book (which I've already ordered) called Jellies by Twig George. NF about jellyfish...
Kim/K/SCa - Yeah, Jan........why is GLENDA getting the earthquakes...? (stomp, stomp)
naneb - I bought a bunch of books last night, Knots on a counting rope, The Wall, Cheyenne Again, Fly Away Home, and something else but I forget the title
Glenda 1st TN - Yes, I think it was on Tuesday. I didn't feel it, but they said they did in Nashville.
Mae - Scholastic: Theory and Practice - A Fresh Approach to Teaching Punctuation by Janet Angelillo. It looks good.
Brad/3 - I didn't feel it either Glenda
naneb - We didn''t feel it at Mammoth Cave
Kim/K/SCa - The earth didn't move for you, Brad?
Brad/3 - I hate those stale approaches to punctuation. LOL
Jan - STOP this book talk! I just got the ones today that you "made" me order from last week.
Mae - Earthquakes - Geesh!
Brad/3 - Maybe cause you weren't there, KIM
Kim/K/SCa - Jan, what did you end up getting?
judy3ca - He had us draw a T chart and label the 2 sides see/feel. We were to write down thing we "saw" (Brad) and "felt" as he read. He then explained that the seeing is ideas, the feeling is voice, and they are connected by word choice. I can't wait to try this!
Brad/3 - It was centered around Evansville, IN, and we were supposed to feel it in Ken. Tn. Oh. and In.
Glenda 1st TN - There is a fault line close to the Mississippi river. They expect Memphis to slide into the Mississippi some day. We have a beautiful lake - Reelfoot Lake that was created from a massive earthquake many, many years ago.
KathyB1stIA - Glenda, my mom in IOWA called me to say she was WORRIED about the earthquake!
Mae - Oh - but it just jumped right out at me!
Brad/3 - OOH, that's good judy, I need to write that down
naneb - New Madrid Fault
Kim/K/SCa - California was supposed to fall off too, back when I was in elementary school.
Jan - Thanks to you, Kim, "Letting Swift River Go" and Miz Berlin Walks
Brad/3 - it's the New Madrid Fault, it runs all the way up around Oh
Mae - OOOOOOOH cool judy
judy3ca - Whew, glad you like it Brad.
Kim/K/SCa - I LIKE that T-Chart idea........
Brad/3 - Kim, it did fall off, remember?? (cheez!)
judy3ca - Kim, that's why all of us Californians swim so well.
Kim/K/SCa - don't forget "The Two Mrs. Gibsons."
Sharon - hi gail... are you the gail from NC?
Kim/K/SCa - You mean I live on an Island? Jan, did you know we FELL off?
Glenda 1st TN - Thats, it, the New Madrid Fault.
Brad/3 - Who are the two Mrs. Gibsons?
judy3ca - I love Miz Berlin Walks!
judy3ca - Hi Gail
Gail - Hi All, yes I'm from NC
judy3ca - Mae, I'm going to use it with Hoops, too.
Mae - Do you guys and gals have Half Price Bookstores?
Kim/K/SCa - Geez, Brad.........(rolling eyes)........I thought you knew Katie Wood Ray upside down and backwards..............
judy3ca - Um, Gail, about your color....
Jan - I thought I felt a splash! That must have been when we broke off
Sharon - ooo - ooo - ooo... "our" gail from the MOT email ring?
Brad/3 - we have one about 15-20 from me, Mae and another about 30-45
Brad/3 - That one is not familiar to me, Kim.
Kim/K/SCa - Gail, we like a DIVERSITY of color here...............very P.C. you know............
Jan - Today I ordered the one about Boris that you guys rave about, and 2 others. Can't remember the names
Kim/K/SCa - It is a MEMOIR.... a little girl with a Japanese mother and an African American father............her grandma is the OTHER Mrs. Gibson........very touching.
Sharon - judy, could i use the jellyfish book as a read-aloud with my firsties, do you think?
Mae - You can pick up great picture books for a fraction of the price
judy3ca - Ooooh, Tough Boris by Mem Fox????? I love that one....All pirates cry.
Kim/K/SCa - TOUGH BORIS? Good choice................(sob)
naneb - Mae, do they have a website?
Brad/3 - LOL, Mae sounds like a commercial
Kim/K/SCa - Mae, stop torturing us. We don't have one.
Brad/3 - www.half.com is supposed to be like that
Brad/3 - it's boomin kathy to go with bloomin jan
Mae - I'm not sure. No, I just know how much we all spend - might as well spend less when we do.
judy3ca - Sharon, I don't think he read us the whole thing--let me peruse it and decide when it arrives on the doorstep.
KathyB1stIA - Hi, KAthy/IA
Sharon - okie dokie... don't forget though
judy3ca - Gail!!! Are you there? I was only kidding about the color. We can be soulmates.
Jan - Oh, yes, I ordered An Angel for Solomon Singer and
Kathy/IA - Hi! How are you all doing?
Gail - thanks, Judy. I was just picking Carolina blue
Mae - Judy - did you get a list of books by traits at your WS?
Glenda 1st TN - Two Kathys???
Kim/K/SCa - Hiya Kathy! Meet the OTHER Kathy from Ottumwa..........
judy3ca - Jan, that's another favorite! Fabulous for inference!
Jan - and "Oliver Button is a Sissy"which Debbie Miller keeps talking about
naneb - I order from half.com but their shipping is high
Kim/K/SCa - Jan did you end up getting the Jane Yolen pirate book..............?
KathyB1stIA - Well, I guess I will be going to the Halfpriced bookstore, Borders, and BN on Sunday!
Kathy/IA - Yes, even two Kathy's from Iowa.
judy3ca - Mae, no, we didn't get a list. However, I'd already BOUGHT two books, LOL.
Mae - I'm meeting Ginny on Sunday!
Kathy/IA - We met one other night, here, Kim.
Kim/K/SCa - Where, Mae?
judy3ca - Jan, when you get Oliver Button, will you tell us about it?
Glenda 1st TN - neat-oh neat-oh
Mae - I have a list at school - I'll try to think about it in Aug. and post it.
Brad/3 - Jan, i was at an inservice on something you might have enjoyed past two days
Jan - Kathy, I'm glad you're here---have missed our emails but will send one. Have news
naneb - judy, you need to send me a list of all of these books and the strategies
Kim/K/SCa - Glenda I am sorry to be such a flake this week on the RWM book. I promise to be better now.
judy3ca - Mae, that would be great.
KathyB1stIA - Oh, KAthy/IA and I are acquainted... never met though, but emailed alot!
Kathy/IA - Can't wait, Jan. I've been busy picking out PAINT.
Jan - Brad, what was it?
Brad/3 - nan, i have a booklist with strategies; i can send you a link or something but you might already have it
judy3ca - Kim, I don't have a list, LOL. I just BS as I go!
Glenda 1st TN - Don't worry about it Kim. I'll look forward to your post.
KathyB1stIA - Kathy/IA there is a question about PWIM on the first grade mailring again.
Brad/3 - Jan, it was Baldrige, heard of it?
Mae - She is coming to Tx. to do a 6 traits WS for my district. I'm going on Mon., but meeting her for dinner on Sun. night.
judy3ca - Oops, I meant Nan.
Rudy - Just stopped by to say hi. I'm busy on a project that will be done July 2nd. As a result I haven't been able to read much. Miss all the chatting. I'll check back again when I can chat too..
naneb - Brad, i am trying to get a list for all of us with our best choices for each strategy
Jan - Kim, not to worry. I have peppered the chatboard with my take on RFM which I ADORE!
Kathy/IA - I'll check there later. I don't usually get to all the boards.
Kim/K/SCa - I would LOVE to go.......sigh.
Brad/3 - (jan peppering the ragout)
Jan - Baldridge? I don't think I've heard of it
judy3ca - Brad, I want to hear about your workshop. What is Baldridge? Do you have to run downstairs to get something?
Glenda 1st TN - Naneb - Promise you will post that list when you have it completed. Please
Kathy/IA - I should of done a lot with my PWIM stuff this week ... our training dates are July 1 and 2.
Brad/3 - And Jan, there were two books they were presenting out of and they said, one was the "why" and the other was the "how" and I thought of you
Mae - That is a great idea naneb. Maybe we should begin posts for each strategy on the board.
naneb - listen to this one, my principal met with the sped teachers while I was gone to go over our schedules which no one liked at all so, he said maybe we could look at it and redo it, which is what we wanted in the first place!! Geeesh!!
Brad/3 - I do not have to run downstairs to get a Baldrige LOL
naneb - Glenda, it will be in the files section on yahoo
Jan - The "How" and the "Why!" My two favorite things. Next to ragout
Kathy/IA - Jan, I'm so glad you have been enjoying RFM. Debbie is just like how she writes in person!
Brad/3 - Baldrige is a framework for using data driven instruction in the classroom, building, and district. It all sounded very solid: and looked exciting
judy3ca - Nan, hooray, it might work out the way you want it after all?
naneb - Mae, are you on the yahoo group? I will post it there and i will send you a copy too if you want
naneb - I think I am already set up to do all reading
Mae - No - how do I get on the yahoo group?
Brad/3 - it's always like that, naneb, why don't they let us if we're willing? They just think they can do it all on their own
Jan - I am definitely in the Debbie Miller fan club. Also the Brad Fan Club
Glenda 1st TN - I'm not on yahoo. Can I still get it?
Kim/K/SCa - A curriculum framework?
Brad/3 - Jan, I'm proud to have you as a charter member.
naneb - I am trying to get my anchor lessons for each strategy setup and written
Mae - Brad is going to be famous someday you know!
Brad/3 - Kim, no
Jan - What are the books on the How and the Why? Do they belong only to Baldridge
naneb - sure glenda, when I get it done I will email it to you
Mae - That is a grand idea!
Glenda 1st TN - Your a doll. Thanks
Jan - And, the ONLY member, Brad?
Brad/3 - I'm hoping it's already starting. Someone from "higher up" is impressed with me because of all the knowledge I possess and they would like to give me a supplemental contract next year to present workshops. I'm excited
naneb - he has inclusion teachers not doing tutoring with the kids they go into the classroom, how dumb is that
Glenda 1st TN - Explain more about Brad being famous someday.
Brad/3 - I keep saying, "Wait, you know I've only been under contract one year, right?"
Brad/3 - I already am famous, glenda. I'm actually Cynthia Rylant, remember?
Jan - Brad, that's fabulous!
Sharon - have you taught more than one year, brad?
naneb - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mosaicteachers/
Brad/3 - yes, jan, the books are only things Baldrige puts together. I might post the website after I've taken a look at it
naneb - Mae, and glenda go to this link and sign up for the email group
Kim/K/SCa - Jan, BRAD is a real "Wunderkind"
Mae - He is so knowledgeable so early in his career - it's mind boggling.
Jan - Glad I started the Brad Fan Club. I'm very proactive about these things
Kim/K/SCa - But his knowledge is not "surface." It has structure............. Brad is amazing. (flutter flutter)
Glenda 1st TN - I'm gone to do it now.
Jan - I'd like the books, Brad.
Kathy/IA - It is refreshing to hear of a young teacher that has it all together!
Brad/3 - First year under contract. I've subbed for a year and a half. Student taught for the standard 12 wks. And interned one day a week for a whole year in the same room the year before that. So even though this is my first year, I feel like I've been at it a while
Mae - We can all say that we knew him when he began...
KathyB1stIA - Brad, just remember who all CHALLENGED you in your early years here at T.net!
Brad/3 - Kim, is that like Cheep, cheep? Flutter, flutter
Jan - We can quote some of his metaphors!
Kim/K/SCa - pitter patter........LOL
Brad/3 - I plan to, you all help me a lot. You're my outlet. No one else "gets it." I have thought of you all so much this week it's not funny, at this workshop and once LOL when I was watching "The Simpsons"
naneb - I can see his head getting bigger, Y'all need to stop!!!
Brad/3 - Naneb, now you sound like my wife
Kim/K/SCa - I know......I feel like you are all my "group" and I refer to you all the time.........."...........my discussion group........."
naneb - LOL!!@Brad!! someone needs to keep you grounded
Brad/3 - By the way, I've already told Kim, but we are closing on my first home (cross fingers) on July 19th
Brad/3 - AND my wife and I are having a baby
KathyB1stIA - Brad, you are making it THUNDER HERE!
naneb - Yeah!!!!
Brad/3 - due in Dec
Kathy/IA - Yes, conversations like this do change teaching. When I found the Internet about 5 years ago ... a whole new world of knowledge opened up to me. I've communicated with some amazing people!
Kim/K/SCa - Save and recycle that Clifford underwear.............
naneb - Oh No a little Brad!!! Can we stand it?!!
teach/3/ca - Hi all just got home from class
Jan - BRAD! How many more zingers do you have tonight! Congratulations on all counts
judy3ca - Kim, that's so perfect, I've always hemmed and hawed about what to call you guys when I'm talking about our learning. Our discussion group. I always refer to Jan as "my mentor."
KathyB1stIA - WOW, Brad that is great!
Brad/3 - LOL, Kim, little bit of a surprise, we already gave away the baby stuff because we were done
Kim/K/SCa - ((Erin))
Mae - Wow! A mini Brad!
Kim/K/SCa - So you get NEW baby stuff..........Cool!
Brad/3 - I have trouble on what to call you too. Sometimes I say my friends online.
Jan - I call you guys my study group!
Brad/3 - There's already a mini-me you know I already have a four year old.
judy3ca - Hi Erin!
Brad/3 - I may have just started but I'm no fresh faced twenty year old
Kim/K/SCa - That always sounds so tacky........"my internet friends......"
teach/3/ca - Hi everyone!!!!
KathyB1stIA - Maybe it will be a girl... well, he knows what girl names NOT to use!
Jan - Hi, Teach---glad you logged on
Kathy/IA - But some people just don't understand "online friends". I get all kinds of strange looks when I talk about all the things I've discussed and learned from my online friends.
Brad/3 - I like that Jan, study group (by the way, you need to teach me task analysis, apparently I was only instructed in rudimentary Bloom in university)
teach/3/ca - LOL Kathy, I was just thinking the same thing. I am known as the "internet queen" at my school
Jan - Task analysis is NOT my forte!
cj - hi there, I am signing on for the first time.. is this a special education group?
Brad/3 - Me too kathy. I feel like I know all of you though more than I know some of my "life" friends because we meet more regularly
Kim/K/SCa - Have you ever conducted a book discussion group for a whole site? I think this is what my new principal wants...........YIKES
Mae - How about my "cyberspace collegues"?
Kim/K/SCa - (snort) Good one, Mae.........
teach/3/ca - HI CJ Professional Reading group
Brad/3 - Mae, that makes you all sound like aliens. LOL from Astroworld ROFLMAO
Kathy/IA - Then when I give workshops and recommend a book like MOT or STW ... teachers never have heard of them. SO SAD.
judy3ca - I think I'll go with discussion group because I have a real life study partner. And the good news is that the new teacher seems wonderful so we may become a true STUDY GROUP! Hooray!
cj - okay thanks..
Brad/3 - A whole website, Kim? What do you mean?
Kim/K/SCa - We are an online professional book discussion group, CJ
teach/3/ca - Kathy...sounds wo familiar
Mae - cj - this is the Professional Reading group - we like books on reading and writing
Brad/3 - new teacher at grade level, judy?
Mae - Astroworld?
Kim/K/SCa - A whole S C H O O L site, Brad............(sheesh)
teach/3/ca - and Mae...buying books on reading and writing
Brad/3 - by the way, what is nfm on a chatboard. I never have got that.
teach/3/ca - glad you SPELLED it out Kim LOL
Sharon - no further message
judy3ca - Yes, and right next door to me. My study partner is fifth grade--but I still love her.
Brad/3 - oh, kim, that's no big deal for you. I thought you meant like on t-net or something
Kathy/IA - no further message
naneb - no further message
cj - so what book are you discussing.. ?"
Brad/3 - thanks, Kim, i thought it was s-K-ool
Jan - Study groups are wonderfu. Sadie and I were one today. She got me straightened out on the CA standards. For now, anyway
Kathy/IA - Well, I'm glad we all have the same words for nfm!
Mae - cj - only join this group if you don't have money to spend on a lot of professional books! LOL!
Glenda 1st TN - I'm back. Boy I'm not very good at filling out those forms.
Brad/3 - And nfm, means you don't want to post any more about that subject?
Kim/K/SCa - The professional books are JUST the beginning............$$$$$$
Kathy/IA - No, it just means there is nothing in the post.
Sharon - jan, i really liked how you zoomed in on Miller's writing about creating a community in her classroom... i loved that part too
naneb - it means you said it all in the subject line
teach/3/ca - THen comes the picture books...$$$$$
judy3ca - Kim did you ask about book groups at school (for teachers)? We've done it.
Mae - True - then there are the picture books, and the chapter books...
Brad/3 - So who was it that suggested the book on Graphic Literacy, (not Visual Literacy)
Glenda 1st TN - Please don't tell me that Kim. I just ordered 4 professional books this moring. I've got to stop.
Jan - I am obsessed with Miller. As you can tell from the chatboard
Kim/K/SCa - We are "into" quite a few. The hardcore basics are, Mosaic of Though, Strategies That Work, Wondrous Words, Reading With Meaning............
KathyB1stIA - YEs, Brad, that way we give a little note, but no long message.
teach/3/ca - What did you get Glenda?
Sharon - i'm reading it for the second time now, jan
Brad/3 - Has anyone seen Writing Whizardry? I saw that at the teacher store last time, perused it, and thought it looked like a good one to get.
Kim/K/SCa - ....then comes the books for CRAFT...............
teach/3/ca - Too bad our chatboard doesn't count for units. I've learned more on the board than in some classes
Mae - Okay already - I guess I'd better order RWM or get left behind...but I'm still trying to read STW!!!
Kim/K/SCa - Didn't you read it while at the store, BRad.?
Brad/3 - It looked like a big book of minilessons
Brad/3 - sort've like craft lessons
Jan - Miller is the master of instruction. I'm reading more from that perspective. She can teach ANYTHING!
naneb - I took STW along on vacation and read it again
Brad/3 - Kim, I PERUSED!
Kathy/IA - If I ever find her (Debbie Miller) email back ... I'll tell her how much you are enjoying the book Jan. I still haven't heard from Anne Goudivs. I hope neither of them are near the fires in Colorado.
Kim/K/SCa - ....or did they throw you out after two hours...............(cheep cheep)
judy3ca - Erin, that's such a good point! I've learned so much here, too.
KathyB1stIA - I agree TEACH/3/CA.
Brad/3 - I lent my copy of STW to someone who will be my grade-level partner next year. She's cool.
Glenda 1st TN - Wondrous Words, Writing mini lessons for first, On Solid Ground, and Classrooms that Wrok
Sharon - teach... i actually got one hour independent study credit in my grad program for reading MOT and discussing it with the yahoo group... the posts were my documentation
Mae - No kidding teach! We should get credit!
Jan - Mae, you must get Miller. Hers is the best of the lot in my opinion.
Brad/3 - FRUGAL, kim, is what I like to be called
Brad/3 - Especially now that I have to make the house payment lol
naneb - I downloaded it and I read it on my computer
Jan - Kathy, that is one of the things I wanted to tell you---my reaction to Debbie's book.
Glenda 1st TN - I have to agree with Jan. At least so far.
Brad/3 - I agree, Jan. Keene is lofty, Harvey is scattered, but Miller is right on
Mae - Okay, okay, okay - I'll order it tomorrow. What about the nonfiction text structures one? Didn't you get it already? What do you think?
Kim/K/SCa - RWM is EXTREMELY readable.................I have a question.
teach/3/ca - Mae...I feel the pressure too.
Kathy/IA - I've been reading your posts, Jan. Inbetween looking at paint. You'll have to put your thoughts on an anchor chart for her! :)
Jan - I can find no fault in Debbie's teaching. Her instructional skills are awesome.
Mae - BIG questio - is RWM geared to primary or does it cover upper elem. as well?
Kim/K/SCa - Is there a good reference in the book to her little poster........"Our Promise to Each Other?" I just saw a blurb and then the pic.
Brad/3 - And Jan, at the inservice, one of the books they kept referring to as the "cookbook" because it was the "recipe" for how to get started. LOL. I kept wishing you were there so we could exchange smiles
Kim/K/SCa - I feel bad, Jan. I haven't read your posts yet. I will check them first thing in the morning.
Jan - RFM is good for anything! What she does is applicable K-12.
Brad/3 - Mae, what I love about RWM is that it is written for first, and for me, it is easier to translate "up": than "down"
Kim/K/SCa - Mae......I think you can adapt the strategies.....really.
Glenda 1st TN - I was reading STW today. I came to the part on inferring. It was awesome. Inferring is about reading faces, body lang. expressions and reading tones as well as reading text. Wow, can you see how this reaches across all areas.
judy3ca - Jan, just wait until you see Debbie Miller on the tape--she really is awesome. I love her tone and the mood she sets.
Mae - Well, I do kave a little kinder coming up.
Mae - There is a TAPE too?
Brad/3 - That's what was nice about our Baldrige training, they had a lady there giving us the "practical" (he hee jan) because she was a firstie who practiced in her room. It is easier to translate "up" then "down"
Jan - Just Miller's modeling is worth the price of admission. I have taken several examples for my workshops.
Brad/3 - I would love to see the tape. Does anyone here have a personal copy?
Kim/K/SCa - Oh, gawlllllllllllllllll ..........there is a TAPE?
Kathy/IA - I agree - teachers need to get past RFM is just for 1st grade. I taught 5th for years ... and the whole concept of building a community of learners was my way of life.
Mae - Brad - what was your workshop on?
judy3ca - No, there's not tape for RWM. But she's on the STW tape.
Brad/3 - so you can see the dishtowels FIRST HAND, kim
Glenda 1st TN - Mae, I think you would get a great deal from RWM. Have you read STW. In my opinion it goes along with RWM. I can really see how an upper grade teacher could really take off with it.
diane - hi everyone
Kathy/IA - Yes, I even have the tapes sitting in my house right now. You all can come over!!!!
Kim/K/SCa - I nominate BRAD to buy the tape and then send it around. Any seconds?
Jan - The "practical!" ARRGGGHHHH!
Brad/3 - workshop i attended was on baldrige, a framework for using data to improve instruction
teach/3/ca - Hi diane
Brad/3 - how much is it?
naneb - what kind of data, Brad?
teach/3/ca - Brad is looking to see if they rent it at the video store
judy3ca - $400
Kathy/IA - I think they are 400.00 or so.
Brad/3 - LOL, teach, wouldn't that be great
Jan - I would love to see the tape. I'd kill to see the woman in person.
Kim/K/SCa - "How much is it," he asks. LIKE HE'D EVER BUY IT. (snort, cackle, LOL.)
Brad/3 - 400??? Okay, so who's popping the popcorn to take to kathy's
Kathy/IA - Our professional media department ordered them since Anne G. and Debbie were here twice this year.
Jan - Do you think STW is a big item at Blockbusters?
Glenda 1st TN - I'll bring the R C and moon pies.
judy3ca - Jan, you may very will have a chance to see her in person. Since she's leaving her position, a lot of us are speculating that she's going "on tour."
Brad/3 - somebody said Miller's retiring after this year or next I think, otherwise, I'd suggest ROAD TRIP
Kathy/IA - She should be on the workshop circut since she isn't teaching next year.
Kim/K/SCa - Good one, Jan........let's ask them! Do they take requests? Would the "Jennifer" or the "Jason" at the counter even KNOW what we are asking about???
Kathy/IA - Yes, this was her last year in the classroom.
KathyB1stIA - Kathy, is it available from your AEA? IF so, then maybe my AEA will buy it, if they don't already have it.
Brad/3 - wow, kathy, you get all the good inservices
Jan - I will be first in line for her tour!
Kathy/IA - Yes, it is in our AEA.
Kim/K/SCa - Jan, you'd BETTER get me a ticket if you hear about it first. I will pay for dinner.
Brad/3 - "Jennifer" recommended Big Daddy to me, and commented on how it should be nommed for an Oscar
Kathy/IA - They were both amazing!
teach/3/ca - Any Ca teachers, let's keep each other posted
Kathy/IA - Anne was here three times, Debbie twice.
Glenda 1st TN - How would we find out if she is going to do a tour?
Kim/K/SCa - So, uh, Kathy.........do you think you AEA would , uh, MISS the tapes.................?
teach/3/ca - LOL Brad
Mae - There is a Debbie DILLER making headlines in our area - on reading. I haven't heard her yet, but my principal wants to bring her in.
Jan - I'm afraid if I ask for Strategies that Work I may get something not tied to reading comprehension.
Brad/3 - oh, so now the ca teachers are going. What about the rest of us?
diane - brad, did i read on the board that you bought the new katie wood ray?
Kathy/IA - I would miss the tapes!!! I'm sure I'll be using clips from them in a lot of workshops!
teach/3/ca - Sorry Brad, if you want to make the trip
Brad/3 - That's Phyllis's daughter, mae.
Kim/K/SCa - LOL, Jan........... the possibilities are endless.
Brad/3 - yes, diane, and I'm sad to say I've finished it already
Mae - Phyllis?
Sharon - mae, maybe Diller is typo... cross your fingers
Kim/K/SCa - Now, Kathy, I am not SUGGESTING anything unethical. I just thought those tapes might want to take a ROAD TRIP with Mr. UPS.
diane - i accidentally hit my one-click button on amazon.com before i was sure i wanted it...
Brad/3 - LOL, I asked my wife to get "Other People's Children" from the library, and she brought me back some romance novel. LOL
diane - am i going to be disappointed or thrilled?
teach/3/ca - And when they make the trip call me Kim
Mae - No, others have heard her, and the name has come up a lot.
teach/3/ca - Brad...Isn't that a book on adoption?
Kathy/IA - I wish I could ... but I don't think I'd better send them out.
Brad/3 - thrilled, diane, have you read her others
Jan - Debbie will undoubtedly hit the Golden State first!
judy3ca - Diane, I bought it, too, and can't wait for Jan to get it. Lots about the curriculum of process and the curriculum of products. I, however, am not done (slow reader).
Kim/K/SCa - You betcha........I will have you and Jan over for lunch and videos. A girl thing.
diane - i'm in the middle of wondrous words right now...
Jan - Nerds like us do not do well at Blockbusters!
Brad/3 - teach, it's a book on teaching other races in the classroom I"m inner city, so I thought it'd be good. My wife was like, "I thought someting was funny that you wanted that."
teach/3/ca - I'm teasing you brad.
KathyB1stIA - IT is THUNDERING again, BRAD. A romance novel for you?
diane - i start the oregon writing project on monday. i am wondering how it will do as a text to study
Kathy/IA - You could all make a road trip to Iowa for a showing of the tapes! Bring a paint brush!
Brad/3 - I am a huge Danielle Steel/Barbara Cortlandt fan
Jan - Judy, are you talking about WW?
Glenda 1st TN - Hi Alta Rose, Are you checking out the various colors tonight?
teach/3/ca - Kathy, AAGGHH, I painted my whole house, inside, last summer. No more paint!!!!
Sharon - hi alta rose!
Sharon - hi alta rose!
Brad/3 - not to mention my basement full of Harlequins
Kathy/IA - You are getting rain, KathyB?
Alta Rose / 1 - Yes, the teal wouldn't work for me, and I saw "teach" already had black.
Sharon - dang..... hit that button twice
judy3ca - Jan, no, the new one, What You Know by Heart.
Jan - Kathy, I'll paint if you let me see the video.
Mae - I have to get my kids to bed! It's WAY past their bedtimes. My computer is acting goofy too.
Brad/3 - I'm not familiar with oregon's project, diane
Kim/K/SCa - ((Alta Rose))) .......and I am sorry, diane, I didn't see you come in. Brad was in the way.
Kim/K/SCa - ((nighty night, Mae))
Mae - Brad - there is some REALLY good word choice in those books!
Kathy/IA - Come on over, Jan! You know the way to Iowa!
teach/3/ca - Good night Mae!
Mae - LOL!
judy3ca - Diane, is that Six Traits?
Brad/3 - because i'm sooo fat kim
Mae - Good night!
Jan - I haven't even got to WW yet. I was afraid to read it while I was writing the book. My words were not wondrous!
Glenda 1st TN - Well Alta Rose, that color looks good on you tonight.
Brad/3 - LOL, Mae, my throbbing manhood hears you
diane - brad, it's a version of the national writing project. teachers spending the summer writing their own stuff and talking about themselves as authors and extending that to their students
judy3ca - Jan, Ray really makes me work to read this one!
KathyB1stIA - No, KAthy/IA, Brad is making me laugh so hard, that is sounds like THUNDER! LOL!
judy3ca - Good night, Mae!
Jan - Hi, Alta Rose!
Brad/3 - that sounds then like it would be perfect book for you diane, It will teach you how to use what you write this summer to design lessons for your classroom
Kathy/IA - Oh ... we had storms in the area last night, just thought they made it across the state!
Alta Rose / 1 - Hi everybody!
Jan - I'm going to read WW when I finish Miller
Mae - I'm leaving you ladies alone with Brad - behave yourselves - he IS expecting! LOL!
diane - excellent...just what i needed though, to spend more money on books...
Jan - Bye Mae
Brad/3 - Judy, what do you mean, "she makes me work to read this one."
Glenda 1st TN - Bye Mae
Alta Rose / 1 - Are you really, Brad? Did I miss exciting news?
Brad/3 - Mae's leaving me alone with my heaving bosoms
Kim/K/SCa - diane I wasn't paying attention because BRAD won't shut up. WHAT book did you buy on impulse?
Brad/3 - yes, alta, we're expecting.
judy3ca - Diane, our Lit Coach did that last summer, it's called the Bay Area Writing Project here. It's exactly what Katie Wood Ray talks about in the new book--we have to be writers to be teachers of writing!
teach/3/ca - "heaving bosom" and "throbbing manhood"?
Brad/3 - Kim and I will be proud parents in Dec. ROFLMAO
Jan - Storms? It's about 105 around here.
Alta Rose / 1 - Congratulations! When? How many other kids do you have?
diane - kim, what you know by heart
Brad/3 - daughter-10, son-4
diane - congrats, brad
judy3ca - Brad, I think Ray expects a lot of us. I like that, but if I'm going to get better at this it's going to be very hard work.
Kim/K/SCa - Erin.........Brad has a basement full of Harlequin Romance Novels. He has collected them over the years.
Kathy/IA - A tornado touched down not far from here last night. I didn't even know we were having a tornado warning in our county.
teach/3/ca - I'm wondering how he has both
Brad/3 - I see what you mean, now Judy. Do you write?
Glenda 1st TN - Are you serious Brad? That's great news. Your wife must be a special lady.
Kim/K/SCa - And EXPECTING with Brad is hard to do, considering we are in different states. Figger that one out!
teach/3/ca - Kim we know where his priorities are...he peruses the writing books but buys the romance ones
Brad/3 - Special is not the word, glenda.
judy3ca - A little.
diane - of course, kim, i went to barnes and noble today and got a few picture books.
judy3ca - Diane, what books did you buy????
Brad/3 - I just haven't had time, judy. A lot on my plate. I used to write all the time. Especially btw. high school and college. I wrote everyday
KathyB1stIA - I thought the tornado warning were way South of you Kathy/IA
Alta Rose / 1 - Hi nancy!
Sharon - cover your eyes, judy! the last thing you need is more books!
nancy/k/ar - hi alta rose...how are you?
Brad/3 - I miss it so much. I go in spurts now. And that's not good. I have to get disciplined again. I wasn't joking when I said to Mae I'd write a book with her
Glenda 1st TN - Kim, I'm really bad with names and my memory is awful. Were you the one that sent me to yahoo tonight to register?
judy3ca - Brad, I'm really considering the journal thing. I loved Ray's description of the guy in the airport.
Kim/K/SCa - SAINTLY is the word............
nancy/k/ar - everyone here doing NBPTS?
diane - someone recommended tulip sees america by rylant...since i came back from the oregon coast today, i had to get that one. like tulip, i could easily just stay there...also got the wednesday surprise
judy3ca - Sharon, LOL, can't I please just hear the titles?
Kim/K/SCa - No, I think that was Mae, Glenda.
teach/3/ca - I, too, need to improve my writing. What types of writing do people here do?
Kathy/IA - When I got home I had a weather message from our tv station reporting a Tornado Warning until 9:30. I got home at 10:30.
Brad/3 - she's a feisty, stubborn, son of a. . .
Glenda 1st TN - Okay, thanks Kim. I was busy writing down the site address and forgot to note the person.
Brad/3 - but no one else would have me so. . . .LOL
Kim/K/SCa - No, Nancy.......book discussion group. You are welcome to stay
judy3ca - Diane, I'm safe....I already have both of those excellent books, LOL.
Alta Rose / 1 - Teach, are you talking about personal writing or teaching of writing?
nancy/k/ar - that's cool, too...i like books.....
nancy/k/ar - glenda...where in tn??
diane - phew...i'd hate to corrupt you, judy
Glenda 1st TN - Great Nancy. Glad you're going to stay.
Brad/3 - you like harlequins, nancy/k/ar?
diane - i'd never seen the book by rylant before...i LOVE it
teach/3/ca - Personal writing. I do lots of professional (Distinguished School, etc.) but no journal type. I feel this is what Ray talks about in her workshop book
Sharon - corrupt judy? roflmao... toooooo late!
Kim/K/SCa - Don't listen to him, Nancy........
judy3ca - Diane, when it comes to book buying, I was corrupted long ago.
Jan - Did you know you can send private messages to people in this chat? How does that work?
diane - lol, brad
nancy/k/ar - thanks, glenda....for a few....been a long time since I spent a friday nite here at tnet!
Glenda 1st TN - Nancy, I'm in Murfreesboro. About 30 miles SE of Nashville. Where are you in AR?
Kim/K/SCa - Here we worship at the Altar of Rylant............
diane - i figured as much, judy, i see your recommendations on the board
nancy/k/ar - brad...been here long enough tonite to be wary of you and your staff....lol
Brad/3 - where it says, send to room on the side, click the arrow, jan, you'll see
teach/3/ca - Judy, I rotate the books between school and home so my husband is never quite sure what I have
naneb - Jan, click on the down arrow, where it says send to room, then, select the person and write your message
judy3ca - Thanks, Sharon, my own kids think I'm predictable, now I can tell them they're wrong, I'm corrupt.
nancy/k/ar - glenda...northeast arkansas.....40 minutes from memphis
Kim/K/SCa - Good STRATEGY, Erin.........
Brad/3 - erin?
Kim/K/SCa - Sharon.........anything new on the Ph.D?
teach/3/ca - THat's me Brad...Erin
Sharon - lol judy
Kim/K/SCa - Brad....now you know. Erin Brockovich is here. Talk about heaving bosoms.
Glenda 1st TN - Is Harding Univ close to you Nancy?
nancy/k/ar - I have so many books in my classroom that teachers no longer go to the school library to borrow...they come to me
Sharon - no kim... long way to go... but i'm learning lots so it's all good
Jan - Thanks---I just noticed this little added attraction.
Brad/3 - ROFLMAOPMP Kim
nancy/k/ar - not too close, glenda...it is in searcy.....a couple of hours away
Brad/3 - brb, there's a wine bottle calling "Brad, oh Brad"
Glenda 1st TN - Kathy B, Nancy must have a love for books like you.
nancy/k/ar - glenda...i grew up in memphis....graduated 71
nancy/k/ar - oops..that was ...graduated in 71

Jan - Got it, guys! Cool!
nancy/k/ar - ohhhh brad...I ordered Fat @#$% Chardonnay tonite...but they were out
diane - merlot by chance, brad?
Brad/3 - You know that ringing in your ears? LOL
nancy/k/ar - glenda....my best friend went to Martin......now lives in New Johnsonville
Brad/3 - no, diane, CHEAP WINE of course (see KIM)
Brad/3 - diane, where do you live
Kim/K/SCa - (cheep, cheep, cheep) Brad buys wine this way. He calls up a website, clicks on the image, gets a bigger image, and then licks the screen.
diane - i'm in oregon, outside of portland, brad, how about you?
nancy/k/ar - lol kim.....
Brad/3 - Jan, I just noticed you could do that the week of the lurkers
teach/3/ca - LOL Kim
diane - lol, kim
Brad/3 - ohio
KathyB1stIA - Nancy, my principal TOLD me to stop buying books OR give more away!
Alta Rose / 1 - Hey, I have a friend in Portland!
Kim/K/SCa - They kick him out of the store when he does this, though. So the internet is the only way he can "buy" wine.
Brad/3 - and this is sad
Brad/3 - my saliva is legendary around here
teach/3/ca - It embarrasses his wife when he does it in public
Kim/K/SCa - Kathy, don't get me GOING on that administrator of yours...........(clenched teeth)
nancy/k/ar - lol kathy.....I just keep finding new bookcases to move in....principal told me the other day that I didn't have to pack up my room this summer.....
Brad/3 - it would be great if we could all have dinner or something
teach/3/ca - Are you buying Brad?
Jan - Between taking notes, reading, sending messages to the room, and to individuals, this is one busy time!
Brad/3 - I have a feeling we'd be the loudest table in the place
diane - good strategy, nancy...
nancy/k/ar - lol@brad...I think he needs to try that chardonnay I mentioned earlier...that the screen would not print...
Kim/K/SCa - I had to pack up my room this year, Nancy. 29 boxes of books....................
Sharon - nan... did you say that you WERE going to have that schedule you wanted or did you say that you can change the schedule to what you wanted?
KathyB1stIA - Nancy, mine TOLD me to pack my books and take them home... 16 Rubbermaids ten gallon size!
Alta Rose / 1 - Are you talking children's books?
naneb - I haven't gone to school but no one else is teaching reading, and i think he will let us rearrange it anyway
Jan - Are you cooking, Brad? I can bring the ragout.
Brad/3 - I'm glad you're still with us Sharon. "Hanging in there like a hair in a biscuit"
Kathy/IA - You had to take them HOME??? Why?
diane - wow, kathy, does your administrator have a reason for that?
nancy/k/ar - poor kathy.....my principal just comes into my room and asks where I am going to put the next thing I buy....told her I was considering knocking out a wall
Brad/3 - Sure, my housewarming party
Kim/K/SCa - Because her principal is a DOOFUS, Kathy. I can hardly stand it................OW! Brad get off my foot. I won't go off on her idiot principal this time, okay? Sheesh.......
Sharon - well now, brad... even a blind hawg can find a nut once in awhile
naneb - I am putting up the rain gutters next week
naneb - LOL@Sharon!! I love it!!!
nancy/k/ar - oooooohhh brad...hair in a biscuit...where in the heck are you from...sounds like my neck of the woods
KathyB1stIA - Yes, AR, what she doesn't know is how many more are in the garage, that never made it back to school from last Summer's classes that I taught. She is new to my building.
Alta Rose / 1 - Why do you have to take them home?
Sharon - oh nan... please let me know how the raingutters turn out... i have to wait a few weeks cuz the construction workers have to do some stupid stuff (like wiring or something hee hee)
teach/3/ca - But KathyB why would she not want your books in your classroom?
Kathy/IA - SInce I'm no longer in the classroom, I have about 40 large rubbermaid containers of children's books in the basement, along with some of my teaching books from my FLUFF days (Frank Schaffer, etc). I have 3 large book cases at work for my professional books!
Kim/K/SCa - I am jealous Nan. I love that idea.
Brad/3 - Well I bet you a ten dollar bill to a hole in a donut Kathy will FIND a way to keep her books
nancy/k/ar - kathy....we had a pipe burst last winter...i lost 100 big books.....most of them mine
diane - i love your description of fluff days, kathy...too funny
Kathy/IA - Don't send her to this side of the state, Kathy!
Jan - I had my fluff days, too!
judy3ca - Oh, Nancy, that's awful!
Brad/3 - Believe it or not, I'm getting so many professional books, that I can already give away "FLUFF" books
naneb - I hope they are done waxing my room so I can get into it, I am putting curtains up over my closet, the doors don't work right so I am taking them down
Kathy/IA - I had many years of FLUFF ... I'm ashamed to admit it now.
Alta Rose / 1 - Is anyone besides me still teaching? Or are you all done for the summer?
KathyB1stIA - She likes to micro manage... control factor... my room can hold another bookcase. I have one bookcase that is 16 1/2 feet long -- two shelves.
diane - done here, alta rose
Brad/3 - Jan has taught me to be explicit to SAVE THE FLUFF
Glenda 1st TN - I'm out for the summer. We start back around the 15 of Aug.
teach/3/ca - Kathy/IA..but at least you realize it was fluff. So many teachers still don't know the difference.
Kathy/IA - I'm thinking of having a "teacher garage sale" with them - or put them on ebay. Might make a few dollars.
Kim/K/SCa - Kathy's principal feels that there is only a finite amount of GOOD books out there and that Kathy doesn't NEED anymore. On her own shelf, in her big office, is her collection of Barbie books, Barney books, and the Powder Puff girls.
nancy/k/ar - alta...i teach a summer programs for incoming kinders that have never been exposed to literacy, etc
naneb - I go back August 5
teach/3/ca - I go back August 27
Jan - Sadie and I were talking about TAsk Analysis today in connection to the standards. It is really tough. I am not analytical which is a bit of a handicap in Task Analysis
diane - wow, glenda, is that when kids come back or staff?
Brad/3 - Incidentally, Jan, the distribution of M&M's in a bag should be even, about 16.6%. I learn a lot of useless knowledge sometimes
Kathy/IA - Yet, I really don't want teachers to have them! I want them to see past the fluff.
Sharon - are you going to post pictures of your classroom at the yahoo site for us when you finish, nan?
Alta Rose / 1 - OMG, Kim!
teach/3/ca - Oh Kim, say it isn't so..is that what she thinks is good literature?
nancy/k/ar - I take off the month of July....but do have five workshop days that month
Glenda 1st TN - Staff on 15 kids a few days later.
naneb - Yes, i will sharon, I started painting my sharing chair today
Brad/3 - LOL, Kathy, I understand your bind
naneb - staff on 5, kids on 9th
Kathy/IA - I hear teacher's stuff sell on ebay if you hit the homeschool market.
judy3ca - nan, please post a picture of the chair, too. I'm still looking for the perfect chair.
Jan - Hey, you guys, how do you get that smiley face to print?
Kim/K/SCa - Oh, and for QUALITY stuff she has the "disneyized" versions of a few fairy tales.
Glenda 1st TN - Okay naneb. What are you using for a sharin chair? I've been looking and can't find anything I like yet.
Brad/3 - well, with that kind of knowledge, you can be a powerful force. I'm trying some of it next year, since I'm doing 2, I'm focusing on Ideas and Organization with a little bit of Word Choice while incorporating the others, sort've like your plan for MOT
diane - wow, glenda, my last day with kids was just last wednesday...
naneb - colon and end parenthesis : )
Kim/K/SCa -
teach/3/ca - AAAGGGHHH Kim. Stop!!!!
Brad/3 - LOL, Judy, that was supposed to go to you. ROFLMAO
Glenda 1st TN - Are you on a year round calendar?
Jan - Oh sorry, that message about task analysis was for Brad. I am getting a little confused here.
Alta Rose / 1 - Jan, click on the ? under live chat and scroll down a bit.
Brad/3 - Does Sharon have a sharin' chair?
Kathy/IA - type a : and a ) next to each other, no space.
Kathy/IA - type a : and a ) next to each other, no space.
diane - ahhh...but since you posted to the board, brad, are you doing 6 traits?
teach/3/ca -
naneb - I bought a wooden bar stool that has a spoked back and carved legs, I took off the padded seat and I am painting it yellow, blue, red, green, orange and purple
Brad/3 - Jan, we did the same thing. Mine was just for judy
Kim/K/SCa - Of course, the COVERS are ripped and there are crayon marks on some of the pages, but hey...........good books is good books.......hee hee hee
Kathy/IA - Did you get that .... since I repeated it twice? Sorry.
nancy/k/ar -
KathyB1stIA - Glenda, get a white plastic lawn chair and let the kids sign it with permanent markers.
Brad/3 - I'm going to try to launch it next year, diane, (and hopefully like 4 blocks, I'll "recruit")
judy3ca -
teach/3/ca - Kim you are being cruel
naneb -
naneb -
Jan - Me,too. I have been running around like a nut.
Kim/K/SCa - Yes........but she treats my friend Kathy cruelly. So ...............from half the country away I fight back.
diane - lol, brad, i'm afraid i'm a reader's workshop ala fountas and pinnell...but i love the 6 traits!!
Brad/3 - I just can't believe that "new" teachers JUST OUT OF SCHOOL do not know about these best practices
teach/3/ca - How did you do that last one nan?
diane - brad, have you seen the write traits kits that are out for specific grade levels?
Kathy/IA - Cool 0
Alta Rose / 1 - Like the Robert Munsch book , naneb!
naneb - colon hyphen P
Brad/3 - diane, although some may say I don't (LOL) f/p is good
nancy/k/ar - brad...colleges do NOT teach teachers how to teach
teach/3/ca -
Kim/K/SCa -
Kathy/IA - Cool 0
judy3ca - Wait, how do you get back after you make a ?
Glenda 1st TN - I'm on your side Kim. Let me know what I can do in TN to fight back!
naneb - Ar, what book is that? Do I have to buy another one???
Brad/3 - not yet, diane, sometimes ginny comes in here and chats and she'd know more about them.
Kathy/IA - Oops ... didn't work.
naneb - click on the G
Kathy/IA - O
Brad/3 - what do they do nancy
Kim/K/SCa -
teach/3/ca - Nancy Amen to that
Brad/3 - mae's back?
teach/3/ca - Colleges allow tenured professors to keep their jobs, Brad
Brad/3 - And so's Jan? What's going on?
naneb - I am having a student teacher in the Fall
Kathy/IA - 8-)
Alta Rose / 1 - I think it's called Purple, Green and Yellow. About Bridget who colours herself with colouring markers!
Brad/3 - I'm being over-run by tiny faces!!
teach/3/ca - :g
Jan - I tried Alta Rose's suggestion and got locked out of the chatroom. Also my message to Kathy is now on the board like the one to Brad.
Brad/3 - Colleges are to take the money and run.
judy3ca - Thanks, nan,
Kathy/IA - Why aren't mine working. I'm looking at the ? page.
diane - they're pretty good supplements, brad...if you find one, i'd recommend...of course, not as an entire stand alone program
Mae - Okay - I see that everyone is still here. My kids were playing a game w/my hubby, so I went to Amazon and ordered RWM, What you know by Heart, and Nonfiction Craft Lessons by Fletcher. I'm going to go read now before all of the new ones come!!!
naneb - it happens all the time when peope figure it out
teach/3/ca - oops
KathyB1stIA - I haven't told her about my 45 unpacked boxes from my move 5 years ago to this building.
naneb -
nancy/k/ar - brad....they expose you to ideas that are not practical in today's world.....I got my masters a few years ago....most of the profs had been at the college for 25 years...and only were in a real classroom for 2 or 3 years
judy3ca - Oops, Nan, that's not the one I meant to send, LOL!
Brad/3 - what's in them, diane?
Kim/K/SCa - Amazon has the latest Katie Wood Ray now?
Alta Rose / 1 - I will have to do some reading about autism this summer. I am getting 2 autistic children next year.
naneb - LOL!!
Glenda 1st TN - naneb, I'm geting one too. I'm a little nervous since I'm starting 4 blocks for the first time. But I'm determined to make a go of this. I'm sure you will all hear more than you want from me next year.
Mae - Yuppers...
diane - alta rose, have you had any children with autism before?
Mae - Only $14.00
nancy/k/ar - In arkansas starting this year....a student who graduates with a teaching degree gets a temporary liscense....and must pass the Praxis 3 to get a permanent liscense...if they can't do that in 3 years they will not become a teacher
Kim/K/SCa - Coolness......... I tried Reading Lady all week but no luck.........
Brad/3 - Are you too cheap to get it from Heinemann, KIM??
Jan - That's cool, Judy! Glad I didn't find the smileys.
naneb - I did that last year Glenda, it was a little unorganized but it was fun
diane - i just finished a year with a child with extremely severe autism...it was challenging but wonderful
Alta Rose / 1 - Don't be nervous, Glenda. It's good stuff!
KathyB1stIA - AR, will you be getting some aide time, too?
Brad/3 - that's what's happening in our state too, nancy
Kim/K/SCa - Are you kidding? The Heinemann website "welcomes me back."
Alta Rose / 1 - Yes, I am looping, so one of the boys has been with me all year. the other one is being added next year.
Kathy/IA - I sure Heinemann loves us all!
nancy/k/ar - I have been hired by the school system to be the cooridinator for the mentoring program in additon to my teaching duties.....
Mae - Did you guys know that Katie has a book on writing workshops?
Kim/K/SCa - I try to buy from I.R.A. since they give us 20% if we are members............
Glenda 1st TN - Now Alta Rose, don't you know me by now. I'm the A type personality. I have to have everything just so. It drives me nuts but I haven't changed yet.
Brad/3 - Heinemann likes when I finally order
Jan - I'm off to try the smileys again..
Alta Rose / 1 - Yes, but our T.A. time is being cut. Both boys have had a full time T.A. up until now. Next year, due to budget cuts, there will be two people working half time, working with both of them. So they are sharing an aide.
Kim/K/SCa - Yeah, their eMail was getting soggy.
Mae -
diane - i think i was only able to preorder katie's book on amazon...but, it was only 14
judy3ca - Mae, I just read that one--it's going to be my bible for WW.
Brad/3 - T and A?
Mae - ºoº
diane -
diane - lol, just had to try a smiley face...sorry
Kim/K/SCa - I want that book. Where can I order it and get it soon?
Mae - It was $28. Since I just spent $58. on a whim (wait till hubby sees), I thought I'd best stop!
Brad/3 - which one, kim
Sharon - *kicking puter* ACK!
teach/3/ca - Mae, I love her book on workshop
Alta Rose / 1 - Which book are we talking about now? My head is so clouded!
diane - wow, alta, maybe it was just my student, but it wouldn't have worked to have her share her aide
Mae - Kim- the writing workshop one? It was on Amazon.
Brad/3 - has anyone read Writing through Childhood by Harwayne. I'm thinking of ordering that
teach/3/ca - Mae LOL, I just went to check on my checking account to see what I could get
Jan -
Kathy/IA - Yea, Jan!
teach/3/ca - Alta, Ray has one called Writing Workshop...
Kim/K/SCa - What you Know By Heart
naneb - I think I need to write a book, y'all would make me rich
diane - brad, i checked that out of the library where i'm doing the writing project...so far it goes really well with wondrous words
judy3ca - Jan you did it! :-) :-)
Jan - Yahoo! I did it.
Alta Rose / 1 - Well, diane, up until 2 days ago, my current autistic boy was going to have to share an aide with a very demanding downs syndrome girl next year! Now THAT would have been a nightmare! But the other boy's parents got permission to keep him in our school, so I will get both boys.
KathyB1stIA - Night all, I am getting my romance novel and go to bed. I had to read two professional books this week... Guskey's book on asseessments and Lewin and Shoemaker's book on Great Performances!
diane - so far so good, brad
Mae - I just ordered three books. I bought another one today, and I still have one to finish and one to start! I'm never gonna get that Nora Roberts one read at this rate! LOL! Teach - I used my hubby's account! Naughty!!!
naneb - 8-)
Kim/K/SCa - Did you hurt your foot, Sharon?
Kim/K/SCa - yeah......and your throbbing manhood.........LOL
Sharon - g'night, kathyb
Jan - Somehow the screen froze when I did the smiley. This is quite a night.
Kim/K/SCa - Sorry..........
Mae - Jan - colan O )
Kathy/IA - Night, Kathy B.
Alta Rose / 1 - Glenda, have you seen the new 4Blocks book on writing?
Kathy/IA - I think I'm going to call it a night, too. Nice chatting with all of you.
Glenda 1st TN - Alta Rose, Are you talking about the mini lessons? If so , I ordered it this morning.
judy3ca - For sure, Vicki Spandel was thrilled when I said 6 Traits would be perfect in my WW.
naneb -
Mae - I've been playing around on magictrips.com (Disney World) and they have the coolest box with lots of different smilies - even dancing ones. You just click on them and it adds to your post. I think we need that box!
Alta Rose / 1 - Yes, that's what I'm talking about. I'm waiting for one of our teacher's stores to get it in.
Terri F. - alta rose, is it a new one just for 4 blocks or also including building blocks?
Kim/K/SCa - cool, naneb......
Brad/3 - I got my minilessons for 2nd a couple weeks ago. (See Kim, I do buy stuff)
Mae - judy- I think 6 traits and WW go beautifully together, as well as writing workshop.
nancy/k/ar - has anyone read the book by the arkansas teachers...about apprenticeship classrooms...
Glenda 1st TN - Alta Rose, do you teach first?
diane - has anyone read creating writers?
Alta Rose / 1 - I'm not sure. Does anyone know? Do they have one for Building Blocks? The Reading Lady's site would have the answer.
Brad/3 - Diane, it's an expensive one (hush Kim) is it practical and helpful?
Jan - I seem to be missing a step with the smileys. Just the code prints and the screen freezes.
judy3ca -
Mae - Okay - I really am going out now - gotta get those kids to bed - I can hear them fighting! LOL! Good night.
Alta Rose / 1 - Yes, but like Brad, I'm soon to be 2!
Brad/3 - okay, I'll find it
Sharon - i've read about it, izzie
Brad/3 - LOL, that's for you judy
teach/3/ca - Bye Mae
Terri F. - thanks alta, I'll check that site later on tonight
Sharon - a program for working with seriously delayed readers?
Alta Rose / 1 - Night Mae!
naneb - not all of the faces work in the meeting room, some of them only work in the regular chat room
diane - i haven't read it yet, brad, it's on my kitchen table with all sorts of others...was wondering if i should move it close to the top...
Brad/3 - alta, I think you'll like the minilessons book. Do you have Craft Lessons by Fletcher?
judy3ca - diane, I'm halfway through Creating Writers and it's wonderful for Six Traits. I think Spandel is terrific! And she's writing another one for primary now.
nancy/k/ar - diane I have Never Too early to Write and Teaching Writing
Mae - yes Diane - let's post on it. Going to bed now.
Glenda 1st TN - How do you feel about going to second or are you looping?
izzie - thanks, Kim
nancy/k/ar - I have Craft Lessons
Alta Rose / 1 - No, Brad, I haven't heard of that one.
Brad/3 - wait, judy's read it, Judy, is it not for primary then
Terri F. - I'm reading Classrooms that Work and Strageties that Work
Alta Rose / 1 - It makes me think of art!
diane - craft lessons is great
Brad/3 - you need craft lessons too alta, it's like a book of minilessons
Kim/K/SCa - Terri.......I use that book in my grad class.
nancy/k/ar - Terri I have Classrooms that work....really like that one
teach/3/ca - I use craft lessons in third
Brad/3 - ok, brb, no one talk about me (or my bosoms)
Alta Rose / 1 - OK, Brad, I'll make a note of that. Thanks!
naneb - Deb Smith just sent me her chart of books for the strategies. I am going to post it to the yahoo files area.
diane - i live down the street from the nwresd...great workshops on 6 traits
judy3ca - It's fine for me (3rd grade), but the one she's writing right now will focus K-3.
Glenda 1st TN - Terri, I'm in the middle of STW and I've ordred CTW. How do you like CTW?
teach/3/ca - Darn, Brad doesn't let us have any fun
nancy/k/ar - Our state dept is great about getting all of these books in our hands if we will go to workshops in the summer.......
Kim/K/SCa - diane....don't tease us. not nice.
Jan - Naneb - I see what you mean.
teach/3/ca - That's great nancy...I wish that was true here
Terri F. - I've just started with them, but I like what I've read so far. Strageties that Work is being required by our principal in the Fall- thought I would get a head start
Alta Rose / 1 - Well, I think I'll go talk to hubby now! Good night!
judy3ca - Brad and Diane, the one I'm trying to get right now is the Daybook for 6 Traits.
teach/3/ca - Bye Alta
Sharon - from what i know about it izzie, orton's theories re no longer considered tenable...but it helps students obtain explicit instruction with sound-symbol associations and help blending words... but the shortcoming is lack of opportunity for students to read meaningful texts
diane - ooo...judy good to hear about the primary book...we have a first grade teacher that will want it
diane - i don't know the daybook, judy, what is that?
nancy/k/ar - teach 3....they offer an early literacy workshop over a three year time period....i have received classroom sets of marker boards, magnetic boards, magnetic letters, a nice easel, levelized readers, manipulatives, etc
teach/3/ca - That's great nancy.
teach/3/ca - I'm jealous
Terri F. - glenda- I've just started CTW, but in my skimming I was disappointed in the sample daily schedule they include. It's unrealistic for my district. We are required to have separate soc. stud. and a science. They combined them
Kim/K/SCa - I would like some sort of staff development this summer re teaching writing..........pickings are slim here in CA right now........
judy3ca - I think the Daybook is mostly samples of text. And don't hold your breath on Creating Young Writers because she's still writing.
Terri F. - Kim- I'm in Bakersfield, where are you?
nancy/k/ar - teach 3....I teach at risk kids so anything I can get is helpful
Jan -
Glenda 1st TN - Terri, Are you saying they teach sci and soc st in the same lesson? How in the world is that possible?
judy3ca - Hooray for Jan. Tenacity pays off!
Kim/K/SCa - I am in Palmdale.........the Antelope Valley.
teach/3/ca - Kim, I'm sure the bunch of us could put something together in Ca
Jan -
teach/3/ca - Terri, I'm in Santa Clarita
teach/3/ca - Yeah, Jan
diane - judy, have you seen the notebook from nwresd "the student friendly guide to the 6 traits"...it has great samples of student text
Kim/K/SCa - Erin...no way! I grew up in Newhall/Saugus.
nancy/k/ar - welll....I need to shove off....nice chatting with you guys.....happy reading
Terri F. - glenda, brb...getting book
judy3ca - Erin, is that near Santa Clara?
Brad/3 - Judy, you mean the daybook are samples of student text, or possible text to use in lessons?
teach/3/ca - I live off of Lyons, Kim
Terri F. - great to have a Ca bunch here tonight
judy3ca - Diane, no, I actually don't have that one, LOL.
Kim/K/SCa - No, Judy.......... Santa Clarita is about 60 miles north of L.A.
teach/3/ca - Judy, near Magic Mountain..north of Los Angeles (about 25 miles)
Kim/K/SCa - I lived off Apple Street
teach/3/ca - Small world, Kim.
Kim/K/SCa - Before that, Bouquet Canyon
judy3ca - I think it's lit/nf text, but I'm not sure. I just wrote a beggin email to the publisher asking if I could pilot it.
Brad/3 - you durn california people keep me up late.
Kim/K/SCa - YOU have a wonderful superintendent down there........Judy Fish?
teach/3/ca - Do you like the antelope valley Kiim
Glenda 1st TN - REI, I didn't see you come in tonight.
Brad/3 - now is that k-12 (daybook?)
Kim/K/SCa - Actuallly.........i dislike the desert. sigh.............
teach/3/ca - What time is it there Brad
naneb - I just uploaded Deb Smith's book list to the yahoo files area
Brad/3 - 12:08
teach/3/ca - I'm sorry Kim.
judy3ca - No, there's a Daybook for each grade level.
teach/3/ca - Yikes, Brad...it is late!!!
Sharon - thanks nan... i'll be sure to check it out
diane - lol, brad, the sun is just setting here
teach/3/ca - I can't even stay up that late.
Terri F. - glenda, suggested K daily schedule has a 30 minute time block for math, or for studying social studies/science topic of choice (or a classroom theme).
Kim/K/SCa - I don't dwell on it........ it's okay. I am grateful for a nice home and family and a relatively nice neighborhood.
REI - Hi Glenda. Been lurking for a bit (in between pulling stuff out for Workshops on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday).
Brad/3 - Erin, are you an early bird. (I bet you have to get up at the crack of dawn to get those bosoms in place, Brockovich)
teach/3/ca - LOL, and to squeeze into those tight pants takes awhile too
Terri F. - glenda, other than their sample daily schedule I have liked many of the ideas presented so far
teach/3/ca - I get up around 5:30 on school days
Kim/K/SCa - CTW is full of common sense.
Brad/3 - kim, i like the desert.
Glenda 1st TN - Wow, Terri, we have to follow our state standards. That wouldn't fly here.
judy3ca - Erin, 5:15 for me--and early to bed.
Brad/3 - actually brockovich was around here not too long ago doing a book signing.
Kim/K/SCa - Same here..........but NOT TOMORROW!
teach/3/ca - That's why I love summer Judy, I can watch all the reruns of the shows that were on too late LOL
judy3ca - Kim, I agree, I love CTW.
Brad/3 - And, me the bosom lover didn't get to go
teach/3/ca - Did you buy the book , Brad?
Kim/K/SCa - Yeah, Brad.,....I bet you were checking out her...........books.
Glenda 1st TN - I'm sure there will be ideas in the book that I can use.
teach/3/ca - Oohhh poor baby
Terri F. - glenda, it wouldn't fly here either. Even in Kindergarten (my grade) I am required to teach separate soc st./science lessons. I have asked over and over to incorporate them, but told no. I've noticed that most prof. books leave these subjects out
Kim/K/SCa - I really like Allington and Cunningham..........
Brad/3 - LOL, Kim, there was this girl in high school, we always talked about her big . . . hair. (And we'd say it like that too, she'd get the biggest kick out of it)
Sharon - kim, have you read allington's book What Really Matters For Struggling Readers?
Kim/K/SCa - Sounds like micromanagement to the nth degree Terri..........
diane - okay...my cat is yowling at the door, and husband is snoring on the couch...i'm going to have to let the cat in myself...
teach/3/ca - Sharon, I've read that...learned a lot
Brad/3 - let your husband out while you're at it, di
Kim/K/SCa - yes, Sharon............ I use it for reference with my credential students. ............. first lecture is on the Matthew Effect.
Sharon - it's an easy no-nonsense read
Jan - Kathy, you noticed!
Brad/3 - Hey, Jan, at my inservice, they were saying, that its' a system, if we all fly it makes each others job easier. I'm tellin' ya' you were all over that workshop
Sharon - ahhh the matthew effect.... the rich get richer and the poor get poorer
diane - lol, brad...i should
Terri F. - kim, you can't begin to understand....but some hope for a turning tide. We are being required to strickly follow the state standards, which means according to the prin. that as long as standards are met/exceeded we don't have to be tied to district curriculum. Starts in the fall
Brad/3 - the brad effect. The poor get poorer. . . and poorer. . . and poorer
judy3ca - Time for me to go read fiction--hooray. Good night, all!
Kim/K/SCa - I use his stats on the amount of time spent reading...........different percentiles. really gets ttheir attention
teach/3/ca - Gotta go say goodnight to hubby and son before bedtime...and put those bosoms to rest...see you on the chatboard tomorrow
naneb - night, Judy
Brad/3 - CAUSE THEY'RE BUYING TOO MANY D#$% BOOKS
diane - night judy
Terri F. - but we'll see....district loves to change their minds
Kim/K/SCa - Good night, Judy!
Brad/3 - Brockovich, let 'em down easy
Kim/K/SCa - See you tomorrow ERin...........we will be there
diane - i'm heading off myself...going to finish my fiction book this weekend if i have to stay up all night to do it!!
Brad/3 - night judy
teach/3/ca - No problem Brad. Bye everyone
Kim/K/SCa - G'night Diane.......stop by the Board tomorrow.
Kim/K/SCa - Jan, I need to get caught up with my RWM re-read..................
Brad/3 - Jan, i'm expecting a full report on task analysis tomorrow
Jan -
Brad/3 - double spaced, with apa
Sharon - i'm out too, guys... way too late here
Glenda 1st TN - Now look what you've done Brad.
Sharon - sleep sweet when you sleep
Kim/K/SCa - G'night, Sharon.........see you on the board......
Brad/3 - oh, sharon, don't go now, you're at least an hour behind me. LOL hang in there like a hair
Sharon - brad... i'm the exact time you are!
Brad/3 - it was all that talk about bosoms, glenda. Gets em goin every time
Brad/3 - who?
Sharon - on EST
Glenda 1st TN - Maybe Brad.
Brad/3 - well don't go looking for your heart's desire. Cause it's in your own backyard.
Sharon - and btw, brad.... have you used the hair in a biscuit line there yet?
Brad/3 - I was on EST, but I switched to PRozac
Brad/3 - yes, Sharon, I did, and my wife said, "Gross."
Kim/K/SCa - What do the voices tell you to do now, Brad?
Sharon - lol!
Brad/3 - EST was just for relief of nasal symptoms though, so you really can't expect much, but i did love the little inhaler
Sharon - i'll share some of that principal's other lines with ya sometime... like my all time favorite.... she looks rode hard and put up wet
Terri F. - well, guess I'll pop over to the main board for awhile.
Brad/3 - Brockovich's name is still up top.
Kim/K/SCa - 'k Terri.......later gator
Glenda 1st TN - I guess I better call it a night too.
Kim/K/SCa - splitting my guts here, Sharon
Glenda 1st TN - Nite all
Sharon - night all
Brad/3 - sharon, my grandma said, "I'd like to buy her for what she's worth and sell her for what she thinks she's worth)
Sharon - wait now, brad..... i'll have to give you the southern version of that line
Brad/3 - or "That's your tale, I sit on mine"
Sharon - btw, i went to italy last summer and was talking to some people there... i told the guy that i hurt my leg... he looked at me kinda funny and said.... what's a lay-egg? darn this southern accent
Kim/K/SCa - You keep that accent, Sharon..it's all American
Sharon - thanks kim
Sharon - *really really going this time*
Brad/3 - that's right, today's your last day. When do you go back?
Kim/K/SCa - Aug 23, I think........kids come Sep 3
Brad/3 - wow, is that cause you're switching?
Brad/3 - not much of a break
Kim/K/SCa - the district i am going to ended last week..........june 14.........
Kim/K/SCa - So no.........not much..........
Brad/3 - where are the kids tonight?
Kim/K/SCa - Danny is working......Dustin is home........Carla left an hour ago and Morgan just dropped by..
Brad/3 - Carla?
Kim/K/SCa - girlfriends
Brad/3 - you mean you don't have those boys married off yet?
Kim/K/SCa - my goal is to clean up my files tomorrow..................they are on the livingroom floor...........
Kim/K/SCa - NO
Brad/3 - my goal is to clean this house tomorrow. it looks like WE got the tornado, not kathy
Kim/K/SCa - I am taking a class..........language acquisition.........have two books to read
Brad/3 - good books? or highly academic textbooks
Kim/K/SCa - Plus re-reading RWM and WW........
Brad/3 - I'm re-reading RWM too
Kim/K/SCa - One is readable.......... "Negotiating Identities" by Cummins. The other has small print. I shuddered and closed it................
Brad/3 - plus looking for my next teaching book to read since I consumed Katie's book like popcorn.
Brad/3 - "negotiating identities?" sounds laborious
Kim/K/SCa - Have you read JIm Trelease?
Brad/3 - yes
Kim/K/SCa - It is about teaching ELL kids..............not bad at all
Kim/K/SCa - How about Educating Esme?
Brad/3 - I think I might read something on math next
Brad/3 - I read that last January I think
Brad/3 - I'm also trying to figure out how to incorporate all I've been learning into my program next year
Kim/K/SCa - Did you read Allington........the struggling readers book Sharon referred to?
Brad/3 - There's so little time, and I want to use it wisely
Brad/3 - I skimmed it, but it's a lot like Classrooms that Work, don't you think?
Brad/3 - So I didn't purchase or read deeply
Kim/K/SCa - Ummmmm........... yes. More of the same.
Brad/3 - THere's a lot of 4 Blocks in his stuff, so I always feel I'm just "refreshing" with his stuff
Brad/3 - I'm trying to think of how to organize my ss/sci next year
Kim/K/SCa - ARe you familiar with the Workshop series that Katie refers to?
Brad/3 - ??
Kim/K/SCa - It is a collection of essays..........written by authors, teachers, eductors..............really good.
Brad/3 - Are they a series?
Kim/K/SCa - And you are familiar with AIMS? For science................math integration....hands on.............
Brad/3 - My partner, whom I lent STW to, is letting me borrow her book "City Childrren, City Schools" next. Have you read it?
Brad/3 - I am familiar with AIMS but I have none of the stuff. Do they do SS too?
Kim/K/SCa - yes, I have six of them...........small books, each chapter a "sound bite " read
Brad/3 - What are some of the titles of Workshop series?
Kim/K/SCa - NO........haven't heard of it. NO SS for AIMS..........I think you would reallly like their stuff.
Brad/3 - (that reminds me I need to get MOT in the mail)
Brad/3 - I think so too, I've seen some of it in action. SS is a big problem for me. I love it, but I don't quite know how to address it in primary
Kim/K/SCa - My keyboard is acting very hinky....let me eMail you the titles in the morning.....i will be happy to send a few for you to peruse................
Brad/3 - Are the Aims things booklets on topics?
Brad/3 - John hinky?
Brad/3 - I like perusing
Brad/3 - do you use box it/bag it
Kim/K/SCa - They are a collection of activities that meet all the standards................hands on, integrated, with lots of literature links
Kim/K/SCa - i didn't name the keyboard john.....it is typing it jerks and starts
Kim/K/SCa - probably the tnet server..it happens when i am in here a long time
Brad/3 - sounds like time to order new keyboard. are you still under warranty
Kim/K/SCa - I have both books........like the stuff
Brad/3 - I like box it bag it. of course i don't use it
Kim/K/SCa - unless it is my server
Brad/3 - when my keyboard did that, I discovered someone had spilled pop on it
Kim/K/SCa - they have a website.............get a catalogue\
Brad/3 - but I was under warranty so they replaced for free
Brad/3 - okay, i should check my email and get to sleep. remember it's quarter till one here
Kim/K/SCa - i don't think it is the board per se...........i think it is the computer's server..................so dustin says
Kim/K/SCa - nighty night brad..............see you on the board tomrorw
Brad/3 - i'm learning to use scanner tomorrow so. . .
Kim/K/SCa - tomorrow..........sheesh
Brad/3 - just keep reminding me all day tomorrow
Kim/K/SCa - YES send me your story
Kim/K/SCa - nag nag
Brad/3 - i'll be back on boards except when I go do errands
Kim/K/SCa - night sweetie.............
Brad/3 - you will love it kim. it could possibly involve lawyerrs. LOL. it's so ridiculous
Kim/K/SCa - can't wait
