Bluette - are you here for the sub chat?
kathy - Yes I am here for the sub chat.
Bluette - I am in NYState near Syracuse and you?
kathy - I am in NYC
Bluette - what is subbing like for you? many schools?
kathy - i sub in a catholic school and am waiting to sub in city schools
Bluette - I have 4 school districts on my list but generally sub in just one
kathy - I think subbing is interesting but you have to keep their interest so you don't loose them
mmp - Hi to all
kathy - I am currently just subbing in one school.
Stanley - Hello, everyone!
LocoLouie in NY - hello to the room
kathy - hello
LocoLouie in NY - great to see the ny's in the room
Bluette - 3 that I can see louie
LocoLouie in NY - question: do you embelish a lesson, such as allowing for small group work when there is no directions given
Stanley - mmp, just to the left of the box where you compose text, do you see a window that says, "Send to Room?" Pull it down to the name of whomever you wish to send a "PM!"
Bluette - hi stanley, no class tonight?
Bluette - yes louie if it doesn't say you can't work together, it is okay
kathy - I let the kids have small group work if the time allows. Usually the teacher leaves a lesson plan
Stanley - Blue, NO more Mon classes, though I've still some work to turn it for the class!['Twas but 6 sessions long!]
mmp - What class where you taking Stanley?
LocoLouie in NY - What is in your bag of tricks ***seeknfinds and crosswords from nytimes mag are in mine
Bluette - I finished grad classes from the fall, got an A and a B
mmp - Thanks for the help, Stanley
Stanley - mmp, I've been taking coursework for my GATE certificate.
kathy - I am 2 classes away from finishing my grad work
LocoLouie in NY - Discoveryschool .com and nytimesmagazine.com>>learning network are two good web sites for stuff
Bluette - one was on Mon night
mmp - What is a GATE certificate? Stanley
Bluette - Kathy I just started, these are my first classes
Stanley - Blue, that's SUPERB!& mmp, *GLAD* to help clarify!
kathy - Good Luck . Do you sub every day?
Stanley - GATE = Gifted And Talented Ed
Bluette - I sub almost every day but in Feb it dried up, hardly any assigns
mmp - Stanley, lets see if I can do a happy face
Bluette - hello Alex
mmp - Hi Alex
Stanley - Has the level of work been what everyone would like? My only "complaint" is that I'm a BIT heavier on the intermediate elementary than what I'd like. [I.e., too few primary assignments.]
Alex - Wondering if anyone is out there?
Bluette - elem assigns booked ahead but ms hs are up in the air
mmp - Do any of you sub High School?
kathy - My course work in elementay ed K-6
Alex - Was a sub before I started my teaching and am in grad school
Bluette - I do
mmp - Bluette what areas do you sub in HS?
Bluette - where Alex??
Stanley - Hi, Alex!mmp, you ARE catching on!
The only thing about the emoticons: For SOME reason not as many print in this room -- at least when posting via a Mac! :-D
Alex - bluette - where are you sub?
Bluette - all subjects
Alex - how long sub?
mmp - Do you ever do shops? Today, I had metal and electricity.
Alex - stanley - first time chat
Bluette - in NYState near Syracuse
Alex - very challenging I suppose?
mmp - Yes, I am slowly catching on Stanley
Bluette - won't go back to welding tech, other tech and shop classes are okay, not responsible for classes using tools
Stanley - I've an elementary credential, WILL sub in MS [if I must], & try to avoid HS because it **CAN'T** lead to anything "permanent" for me!
Alex - stanley - you sound like me - taking a job was a big step
kathy - I enjoy teaching at elementary level. I find them fun
Alex - anyone going for high school
mmp - IN BC the power may not be turned on unless the person is trained in the area. Once class was great until the last 10 min. today, Bluette
Bluette - I would like to get cert for english 7-12
Stanley - Alex, I've probably been part of the SubChat 30 or so times, though I SELDON chat elsewhere. Et tu?
Alex - stanley - part of grad assignment in tech
mmp - Teaching in the states in so different from BC from what I pick up on the chatboard.
Alex - bluette-I am English high school - I luv it
mmp - Bluette, you will have a lot of marking to do with English.
Stanley - Alex, "taking a job a big step?" No comprendo!
Bluette - where Alex?
Alex - ALWAYS!
Alex - Stanley-I have trouble with permanency
Alex - Virginia
mmp - Kathy where do you sub?
kathy - I sub in a catholic elementary school and am waiting to sub in nyc schools once the freeze is lifted
Alex - I am starting to understand how this can be addictive
Bluette - son went to grad school at UVA
Alex - UVA - good school. I was in Montana
Bluette - oh it is Alex, lol
Stanley - Alex, while I LIKE the varying classrooms, my **MAJOR** hang-up is that I don't like losing work for wild goose chases!
Bluette - hi magooo!
Alex - Stanley-it all goes towards figuring out what you want to be when you grow up!
Magoo - ***checking room for snitches and Evil Teachers***
Bluette - did you bring the snickerdoodles
Alex - Hi Magooo
Magoo - hmmmm....seems to be okay in here.......may I come in??
Stanley - And, Alex, IMHO, so **MANY** of the interview "possibilities" are not **TRULY** "open!"
Magoo - ***dancing around room, tossing fresh snickerdoodles to everyone***
Bluette - its safe
Alex - Where are you Stanley?
mmp - Magoo, are you bringing your sense of humour with you?
Alex - Magoo what is your fav to sub?
Stanley - ((( Magoo ))) You still survivin'?
Magoo - Today was "03/03/03"..........something mystical in that!!
Bluette - I saw that magoo
Magoo - My favorite grade to sub is 4th, followed by 3rd, 2nd, 1st. I do K and 5 and 6, but don't like them much.
Alex - What is it about the "little people"?
Bluette - I quote you often, don't back up in K, you might squash a child
Stanley - Alex, I'm in San Diego. & you??
Magoo - Stanley, 'I will survive....' but it's not over yet, drat. Today I found out who the snitch is.
Alex - Alex is in Virginia, via the Bahamas
Magoo - I have crushed more 5-year-olds......large feet, you see, women's 11
Magoo - How can you be in Virginia and the Bahamas at the same time???
Alex - Magoo - new moon last night
Stanley - Magoo, so there's a SNITCH in **ADDITION** to the back-stabber?
Magoo - ***checking bottoms of sneakers, just in case***
Bluette - the children will be wild tomorrow
Stanley - Blue, WHY so wild tomorrow?
Bluette - new moon
Magoo - Stanley yep!! The Snitch told the Absent Teacher what I'd been doing in the classroom (cleaning, organizing, writing lesson plans, etc.), and the Snitch is good pals with the sub-caller...........the plot sickens, as it were.
Alex - wondering what is the most substantial thing out of teaching?
Bluette - also read across america today, lots of cake
Stanley - OK -- got it![Didn't see Alex's post about the moon...]
Magoo - "New moooooon, you saw me standing alone........because I smell like wet dog..........when it is after a bone.........."
Bluette - how is you vision these days stanley
Alex - O.K. - thanks for the insight
Magoo - Oh, did I ever have fun with RAM today!! Had been asked to read to a 5th grade class.....hee hee hee!!! Read them two of the stories by Patrick McManus---anybody know him? He used to write for 'Outdoor Life', VERY funny guy from Washington.
Stanley - Magoo, I'm TRULY sorry that you can't the write the WHOLE bunch off!I mean, doesn't it grate on you to be around such fools?!? [Of course, I KNOW your district has few schools... :-( ]
Bluette - i have had some experience teaching and working with sight impaired children
Magoo - Alex, for me, the most substantial thing from teaching is when 'the light dawns' and a kid really GETS the times tables, etc.
Bluette - yes magoo, my sons loved reading mc manus
Bluette - i like working one on one, very rewarding
Stanley - Blue, I'm SURE my glasses are somewhat "off," & I'm due for a check-up with my retinologist, but the whole ordeal DID end much, MUCH better than it COULD have!!
Magoo - Stanley, it has been so very, very difficult! This is my 9th year of subbing, and most of it has been in this bldg. with most of these teachers. There are 10-12 who support me, which is great. The one who done me wrong has been in the bldg only 2 years.
Magoo - Blu, McManus is from my area--I think he still lives in Spokane.
Bluette - mother in law has macular degeneration and it is worse
Magoo - Where'd everybody go???
Magoo - Oh, Blu---the minister who married my daughter and her hubby has mac. degen. and it is truly horrible!!
Bluette - thats even betterif it is a local author
Stanley - Magoo, since I've 200 or so schools in which I COULD work, **I'd** take a sabbatical from there -- hoping my "friends" would be prompted to do some house cleaning!
Magoo - Blu, I also dressed up as The Lady Who Wears Purple and read that poem to the kids, using a very phoney 'southern' accent........they cracked up!!
Bluette - she can't see much
Magoo - Stanley, a 'housecleaning' is in the works......and I'm just Irish pit-bull enough to NOT go quietly into that good night.
Stanley - Gee, it IS "slow" in here tonight, isn't it?
Magoo - I cannot even imagine a school district with 200 schools in it..........we have 6.
mmp - (((Magoo))) I hope that goes in your favour. To borrow the saying you are a classy lady.
Bluette - tomorrow i am subbing 1/2 day doing 3 periods of cafe duty
Magoo - Are there any subs in the main room??? I could go in and announce our chat.......
Stanley - Magoo, to use an OLD cliché, "Just don't overplay your hand, OK?"
Bluette - go ahead, might find some!!!
Magoo - mmp, thanks!! I want to work 2 more years for sure, 5 if possible. And I want to work in this bldg.
Magoo - Stanley, as usual you are a walking word of wisdom. I am 'cooling' it, yes. But, I want my face seen there, frequently......heh, heh, heh......
Magoo - I shall return........
Stanley - Blue, **THREE** periods of cafe duty? ¡¡YIKES!! O
Bluette - they will pay me $35, for 2 hrs
mmp - Stanley in which city is it that you sub? short memory on my part
Bluette - but something else may turn up to round out my day
mmp - Hi showmetech
Stanley - When I had my leave replacement contract [3 yrs ago], I had several month of lunch supervision for Primary! 'TWAS an adjustment...
Bluette - are you from MO?
ShowMeTech - Yep
Magoo - Nope, they are all 'real teachers' in there........
steph - just popping in to say hi while i'm doing my homework.
Bluette - lol magoooooooooooooooooo
Stanley - HI, steph!!mmp, I'm in San Diego -- & YOU'RE in Canada, right?
Magoo - HEY, ShowMeTech, where in Missouri??? I grew up in St. Louis
steph - Hi Stanley, haven
ShowMeTech - born in st louis...teach near jeff city
mmp - Yes, I'm in Canada,
steph - I was trying to say haven't seen you around the sub board!!
Stanley - Tech, do you sub?
Magoo - sonuvagun!!! I am actually from Kirkwood......
ShowMeTech - dang..know it well
Bluette - oh magoo....old home week
Magoo - mmp, do you want me to tell you that it was about 55 here today and my jonquils are about to bust open???
Stanley - steph, my posting level has been waaaaay down because of coursework I've been taking...
ShowMeTech - stop it magoo..getting snow and ice tomorrow
steph - Yes, I know what you mean! I'm taking 15 cr. hours!!!
Magoo - Kirkwood Pioneers!!! yay rah!! I grad KHS in '61...........the only year that reads the same backwards and forwards........
mmp - Sure, we have not had a winter here this year.
ShowMeTech - lol
steph - Plus have to intern one day a week in middle school.
Magoo - c'mon, ShowMe, fess up.........which suburb is yours??
beton - mtg
ShowMeTech - 8th grader are in pain
Stanley - mmp, not that I know much about CN's geography, but where in CN?
Magoo - 'beton'.......sounds French......
steph - I haven't been able to sub in about a month and the worst thing is I keep getting requests I have to turn down.
ShowMeTech - actually born in kirkwood..
ShowMeTech - i think
ShowMeTech - lol
mmp - I told one district I will no longer do middle school
Magoo - 8th graders ARE a pain, is that what you meant, Stanley???
ShowMeTech - i bet
Magoo - oops, I meant ShowMe.........BORN IN KIRKWOOD???????
ShowMeTech - you can see in their faces..painnnn
Bluette - steph i need work, can i have your assigns
ShowMeTech - yep...1954
Stanley - steph, have you ANY time to sub? I'd be ****AWFULL**** taking significant course work while teaching!!
mmp - Stanley in BC the westcoast, about 3 1/2 h NW of Vancouver
Magoo - ShowMe, I went to Tilman School, Nipher, and KHS.........
steph - I wish I could pass them on to you, Bluette! Move to AZ.
ShowMeTech - moved to central mo as a kid
ShowMeTech - unreal
Magoo - ShowMe.........did you grad from KHS???
Magoo - ah, no, you didn't.........you didn't happen to go to Kaiser Elem. did you??
ShowMeTech - nah...fulton high..20 miles from jeff city
mmp - Stanley I should have said N East.
steph - No, I don't really have any time to sub lately.
ShowMeTech - went here..but have lots of cousins that did
Stanley - mmp, I've never been to CN, though I've heard NICE things about the western part!
Bluette - time to say goodbye
steph - The good news is that the other dist. I work for is going to an automated system so I don't have to turn down the sub caller anymore (in person).
Magoo - ShowMe, my kid brother went to Kaiser Elem...........
steph - Bye, Bluette! Take care and hope you get more work!
Magoo - Bye, Blu!!! Be good to you.
ShowMeTech - small world again
mmp - Stanley, I've not been to SanDeigo, but a friend did her doctorate at San Diego State.
ShowMeTech - subs must be saints
Magoo - ShowMe, any of your cousins grad from KHS in 61 or 64??
Stanley - SDSU is where I got my teaching credential, mmp. steph, aren't automated systems GREAT?
Magoo - Subs are not only saints, we are the only ones who KNOW we are saints.
mmp - mv where do you sub?
ShowMeTech - probably..all over st louis county
ShowMeTech - lol magoo
steph - Yes, the other dist. already uses one, but this one is even better. You can go online to get jobs. It's called AESOP, ever heard of it?
mb - Hellooooo all
Stanley - Tech, why do you feel subs are saints?
steph - Hi, mb!
ShowMeTech - tough job..not knowing what you are walking into..
Magoo - ShowMe, I've not lived in STL for many years, go back to visit Brother and his family when I can. I miss rain, cardinal birds and STEAK N SHAKE.
mmp - Hi, mb
ShowMeTech - kids love it
mb - I'm late, are you all still going strong?
ShowMeTech - GO CARDS!!!!:) :)
mb - Magoo, I'm from MO too!
mb - Magoo, I'm from MO too!
mb - oops, double post, sorry
ShowMeTech - WHERE MB
Magoo - 'mb'=mighty bright? ms beast?? messy breakfast???
mb - near Joplin
Stanley - steph, as far as I know, NO one here in San Diego allows subs to get jobs online! Do you have to enter a password to see what's available?
steph - Magoo, I'm originally from Seattle (born there), where is that you in WA? Yakima?
ShowMeTech - ON THE BORDER
Magoo - My brother has a baseball with Stan Musial's autograph on it.
mb - glad you asked, Magoo, I need a new moniker, don'
ShowMeTech - sorry bout the cap thing
ShowMeTech - stan the man
mb - where are you from ShowMe?
steph - Yes, the system uses your SS# and a pin number. It's really cool because you can tell it when to call, block yourself out, search for jobs, etc.
Stanley - mb, some of us have been known to "hang" here for at LEAST an hour afterwards!
Magoo - steph, I am on the eastern side of WASH.....the ugly part near Idaho. Daughter and her hubby live in Auburn, tho.
ShowMeTech - fulton
mb - caps don't offend me...lol
Magoo - mb, I was teasing, hope I didn't offend you!
mb - I was at a Blue and Gold Banquet, that is why I'm late!
steph - Magoo, most of my family is still in WA, but W. WA side.
ShowMeTech - my 7th hour invented the cap yelling thing i think
Magoo - "Way Down in Missouri, where I heard this melody..........."
mb - no, you didn't... I almost posted a poll on the chatboard asking for ideas for a new moniker
Stanley - steph, so EVERYONE can't necessarily access the same jobs, right?
Magoo - My bod may be in the NW, but my heart is still in the midwest.
steph - The interesting thing about the new system is that I got to see the teacher presentation at the school where I am interning. They showed them how to get their preferred subs and how to block out subs they don't want in the future.
Magoo - mb----are those your initials??
Magoo - 'Emby'='mb'..........
Stanley - mb, so some of the "Blue" wore off onto your fingers?
mb - yep
steph - Right, Stanley, teachers can request or block out certain subs.
steph - Sorry, guys, I have to go now, it's been fun. Take care and hope you get lots of work!
Magoo - by, steph!!
steph - I might be back later if anyone is still here.
mb - I'm confused, Stanley...
mb - I'm crafty, I'm a volunteer into everything around this area..
Stanley - steph, that's a VERY flexible system!Off the top of my head, I think it beats what we have around here! But, for the technophobic, Subs CAN still call in, right?
ShowMeTech - hmmm
mb - ooops
mb - ooops
Magoo - ***thinking*** (that's what you smell....my burnt-out brain)
mb - Magoo, how do I return a private message!
Magoo - mb, what state are you in??
mb - MO
Magoo - mb, you go to where it says 'send to:room', and pull it down till you get to 'Magoo', then click on that.
lilreader1 - Stanley are you referring to the SubFinder system? We use this in our are (N. CA) and I love it. You can access by phone or by web.
Magoo - oh, silly me.......Joplin, wasn't it??
mb - lol, yes near Joplin
Magoo - Joplin doesn't exactly lend itself to a nifty 'name'...........
Stanley - lil, 1 of my districts use SubFinder, the other 3 "Sub Assignment Mgmt System" [SAMS].
ShowMeTech - lol
ShowMeTech - it is such a nice little town....and...
mb - noooo...it doesn't
lilreader1 - How does SAMS work and do you prefer it over SubFinder?
ShowMeTech - it has a steak and shake
Magoo - 'Craftygal'...........?? Kinda makes you sound like a spy, tho......
mb - Yes, it has a Steak and Shake!
Stanley - mb, see the "Send to Room" box? Pull it down 'till you reach the name to whom you wish to PM.
Magoo - *****POSITIVELY SLOBBERING OVER MEMORIES OF STEAK N SHAKE***
ShowMeTech - i am going to iowa city next week.... who has ever heard of iowa
mb - I'm actually from Webb City, ever heard of it? Soon to be the next state basketball champs!
ShowMeTech - sure
ShowMeTech - good luck!
Magoo - Oh, yes, I've heard of Webb City!!
mb - Home of Grant Wistrom!!!
ShowMeTech - they have a rep
mb - I hope a good one...
Magoo - ShowMe........you are not gonna believe this.........hubby and I lived in Iowa City from '65-'68, when he was getting his MA and MFA.........I worked at the univ. hospital.........
ShowMeTech - lolyes
mb - I've heard of IA! Drove through it too
Stanley - lil, ideally I'd combine aspects of BOTH!For which I prefer -- POSSIBLY SAMS [if ONLY because it seems a bit "quicker!"] ;-)
ShowMeTech - omigod... goin to the univ if i can find it
Magoo - We lived in student housing, Finkbine Park........I bet it's long gone......probably a parking lot now!
Magoo - GREAT univ. there, ShowMe.........beautiful campus, too.
lilreader1 - Thanks Stanley, I am kind of new to all of this still and I wanted to know how this worked in other areas as well.
Magoo - Boy, was it ever cold in the winter, tho.
ShowMeTech - i eard there was the best bookstore in the nation...something lights
mb -
Magoo - Gas was 30 cents a gal. then and we couldn't afford much, so we walked ,most everywhere.......
mb - I wish it were that price today!
ShowMeTech - no doubt
Stanley - lil, I AM **STRONGLY** in favor of automation over human callers! I'd not have **NEARLY** the advanced bookings were humans MANUALLY doin' the work!!
Magoo - I'm sure it's come a long way since we were there. That was during the VN protesting.......Dow Chemical would come to town recruiting and kids would throw buckets of animal blood on the people's cars........it got pretty awful
ShowMeTech - oh no!
Magoo - Gas here, today, is now $1.74 most places........
mb - I read your posts about automated and can't even imagine it...here I'm either called by the principal or the secretary from each school individtually
ShowMeTech - i have a daughter in kuwait and those protest are tough
Magoo - Lordy, Iowa City........that was about a million years ago!!
Stanley - Magoo, I remember during '71 or '72 when [because of a price war] I pd in the high 20's for gas!! [Talk about something we'll **NOT** see again...]
mb - so Magoo, what did you decide to do about the parent meeting? Are you going to attend?
Magoo - Well, peeps, I gots to go. This has been an especially nice chat!!! My love to the other ShowMe's out there!!!
ShowMeTech - have a nice nite
mb - Good night, have a great day tomorrow
Magoo - oh, mb-----I didn't go.
Magoo - Please.....when you have a burger from Steak N Shake........think a kind thought for me.......**weeping at the memory***
ShowMeTech - yummmmmmmmmm
mb - I'll even eat O rings for you if you want??
mb - ahh...she's gone
ShowMeTech - cheese fries
ShowMeTech - (notice i didn't say french)
mb - I noticed
Stanley - mb, so you're not booked very far ahead, right? Also, I **OFTEN** call in to "browse" possibilites, ONLY "biting" if it's the best under the circumstances.
mb - Stanley, sometimes I am...but currently I have NOTHING scheduled
mb - keep your fingers crossed for me, please...I will know on the 15th if I'm hired to teach a month of summer school
ShowMeTech - i hear the state is cutting csummer school funds next year...
ShowMeTech - i teach every summer and would hate that
Stanley - mb, I virtually NEVER go until the morning of in order to obtain work.[Sometimes I think that's not even "subbing," ya' know?
]
mb - yes, Joplin cancelled their summer school program but Webb City is still getting funding, even free lunches for ALL students for the summer school program
ShowMeTech - that's what we have been doing..but who knows..
mb - but you keep very busy, right, Stanley?
ShowMeTech - it has been a big money maker for the rest of the school year
Stanley - Tech, so you're a contracted T who likes to do summer school gigs?
ShowMeTech - i teach tech during the regular school year and reptiles in the summer for fun
mb - as of today there are 5 elem positions posted on the DESE board for this district...I sooo bad want a contract for next fall
ShowMeTech - teachers are always needed here
ShowMeTech - surely all dont post
ShowMeTech - check out idividual websites also
mb - hey, if I get what I asked for to teach summer school, I will need your advice. I signed up to teach Science about Marlin Perkins
Stanley - mb, I worked 240 days in '02!So far in '03 I've missed but Jan 2nd, when but less than 5% of my potential schools were even working.
ShowMeTech - science is my area of concentration..taught MAP science for years
mb - That is so great Stanley--wish I had that right now
Stanley - Ah yes -- reptiles!I see LOTS of **THOSE** -- & NOT in the San Diego Zoo, either!! ROTLMAO...
ShowMeTech - kids love it..a real motivator
mb - lol...you surely aren't meaning you see them walking upright up and down your halls?
ShowMeTech - have 5 snakes i keep to teach in the summer
mb - I would like to have a snake in the room for the class but I do not want one at home after the fact. I'm going to find someone to borrow from
ShowMeTech - litle nice show-me ones
ShowMeTech - kids love to keep em over the summer
mb - I'd also like one of those hissing roaches, I understand they are easy to care for them
Stanley - mb, I started subbing [I'm in my 7th yr] right after many sub pools had been raided in order to supply Ts for class size reduction. Therefore, I got LOTS of EARLY practice -- & there was a **NEED**!!
ShowMeTech - yep.. a colleague of mine had one..
mb - My aide work previous to finishing my degree has been helpful...but I don't work every day!!
Stanley - Tech -- so you mean REAL snakes rather than the 2-legged kind?!?
ShowMeTech - lol stanley.. never got snake bit but have been bit by a mouse i was feeding
ShowMeTech - ouch!
mb - I abhore mice...ick
ShowMeTech - bad rodents..bad bad rodents
ShowMeTech - they smell, too
mb - gross
Stanley - mb, being a multi-tracked year around district is CRITICAL. Though my # of days isn't COMMON around here, I know at LEAST 1 other Sub who works similarly. [My major employer has over 3,000 Subs, if you can believe THAT!!]
ShowMeTech - i gotta get some work done...let me know if you get the summer thing.. i have loads of plans
ShowMeTech - nite stan and mb
mb - no, I can't believe that. I live in Podunk USA... that's a LOT of subs
Stanley - Buenos noches, Tech!
mb - night ShowME! sleep well
mb - There's only 700 teachers in the largest town around here.
Stanley - San Diego City Schools is the nation's 8th largest district.
mb - are you even in the same rooms more than once or twice?
Stanley - Los Angeles Unified has something like 36,000 CONTRACTED Ts. [It's the nation's SECOND largest district.]
mb - I cannot even imagine
mb - the town I live in only has 8000 population! haha...
mb - so, do you pay any attention to the main chat board?
Stanley - Interestingly, certain schools seem to "get into" you, putting you on preferred lists & the like. Plus, Ts can & DO personally request you -- either directly or via the 'puter.
mb - I'm speaking of the general chatboard..not the sub board
Stanley - I've hardly paid ANY attention to the MainBoard for the last 6-9 mos, though I USED to do so. [Extension courses at UC San Diego have taken more of my time...] & YOU?!?
mb - I was addicted to it until it became a bash and hash routine. It's gotten pretty ugly at times.
mb - I was just curious...
Stanley - From time to time I hear people COMPLAIN about the MainBoard, though I don't ChatBoard "insults" to heart -- at least when they're directed at ME!
mb - lol...I know what you mean.
mb - well, fellow sub, I think I will take my leave as well.
mb - one principal calls at 5:50
mb - I need my beauty rest
Stanley - IF I notice "nastiness" on the SubBoard I'll sometimes comment -- much like I'd do in a classroom while subbing.
Stanley - BEST of luck. I take it you're NOT on the West Coast???
mb - oh no...Central time zone here. Good night
Stanley - HERE it's 7:40, PLUS I don't have to rise until 7 A.M.!!
mb - lucky you... see you the next time around..bye bye
Stanley - NIGHT!! 'Twas enjoyable!!
Stanley - Going, going...
Stanley - {{{ Poof !! }}}
