naneb - hi Carol and carolyn are you here for MOT?
Carol - Yes
naneb - everyone should be here soon
Alta Rose - Hi everybody!
Carol - Hi Alta Rose!
Carol - My copy of Nonfiction Matters should be in tomorrow.
Carol - I'm excited about it!
Alta Rose - I'm still waiting for MOT!
naneb - Hi Alta rose
Alta Rose - I had bit of a disapointment this week. Over Easter we found out that there was a 4Blocks conference (Dorothy Hall) scheduled an hour and a half away from where I live. I registered, and then a couple of days later it was cancelled! Due to lack of interest--But nobody knew about it.
Carol - I'm sorry to hear that.
naneb - maybe they will schedule another if you can show them that people will come, get your district to sponsor it
Alta Rose - I emailed Scholar's Choice, the sponser, and suggested better advertising next time. We didn't hear about it at our school at all. Good idea, naneb. I need to talk to Convention Reps.
Carol - When do you all have time to read all of these wonderful books?
Alta Rose - Not at report card time, that's for sure!
Carol - By the time I get home and finish up school work, it's bedtime!
naneb - I read on the weekend
Alta Rose - I try to set aside a few minutes every evening. I've made it a goal to cut down on TV.
Carol - Good ideas.
Alta Rose - Has anyone here started to read MOT yet?
Carol - Not yet. I'm going away next weekend. I'm planning on starting it then.
Carol - I enjoyed chatting with you last Friday. I've looked forward to chatting all week!
naneb - I have read all of it once and parts of it over and over
Alta Rose - Me too.
Alta Rose - I'm looking forward to starting it if it ever gets here.
naneb - what grade does everyone teach?
naneb - 6th LD
Carol - 3rd
Alta Rose - First grade. I'm looping with my class, so I'll be with them for Grade 2 next year.
Carol - Have you looped before?
Alta Rose - Yes, a couple of years ago I did a 1-2 loop. I really liked it!
Carol - I would like to try it. It sound like such a good idea.
Alta Rose - The September of the second year is so low-stress! The kids know the routines. I remember thinking, "This is great! They even know where to line up. And you know where they all are academically. I was comfortable with the parents right away, and they with me.
Alta Rose - Well, I have to head out for a few minutes. I'll pop back in about half an hour and see you if you're still here!
Carol - I'll bet. It's always hard to go "back down" to the beginning of the year level.
Carol - I need to go too. My son is just refusing to go to sleep!
Sharon - i guess i'm late?
naneb - Hi Sharon
Sharon - Hi nan
naneb - I am here, I was in the other room
naneb - Hi
naneb - Alta rose will be right back I htink
Sharon - nan, i just want to tell you that i enjoy your posts on our MOT ring...... always good ideas and thoughts
naneb - thanks Sharon, I like yours too, I feel like I am out of place since everyone else teaches primary but, my students next year are going tobe very low
Sharon - even though it's a higher grade level, it still helps me to see MOT...... like where we're headed with it
Sharon - did you get all the poetry you needed?
naneb - my kids are just bigger, they have not been taught to use these strategies so they are just as needy as 1st graders
naneb - I think so, I need to find maybe one more on being dfferent but I think I can use another Shel Silverstein pem for that
Sharon - what i think is wonderful is that you are applying the strategies with LD kids...... not like our LD teacher who just waters down the curriculum and walks them through worksheets
naneb - I did worksheets but they can do them and not know a thing about the subject
Sharon - doesn't he have a poem called something like "here's to the kids who are different"?
naneb - I think a lot of this is due to going through National boards. It makes you examine everything you do until you start questioning everything. If it isn't getting the results I want I am not going to do it
Sharon - amen! i always hated worksheets..... the kids who do well already know it and don't learn..... the kids who don't do well, just practice and reinforce errors
Sharon - national boards is a future goal...... i want to finish my doctorate first
naneb - Yes, Sharon thanks that is a really good one. I have The Old Man and the little boy and that is good for intergenerational
Sharon - hi ginny
naneb - I always said I was going to do PhD but, now I am not sure.
Ginny - Hi, is the the MOT discussion?
naneb - Hi ginny
Sharon - why unsure, nan?
Ginny - Hi naneb and all!
naneb - suppose to be, we are just chatting
Sharon - yes, ginny..... what grade are you?
Ginny - Okay, well, Mae just emailed me!
Ginny - Middle school but retired now
naneb - Well, NB was so much that I don't know if I need to be a PhD,
Ginny - Mae is sick
naneb - Is mae still really sick?
Sharon - i'm sorry to hear that, ginny
Ginny - Yes, she said 1/3 of her class was out with the stuff.
Ginny - She wanted me to let you guys know.
naneb - Sharon, i would have to take a year off of teaching and I don't think it will make a big difference
Ginny - We write back and forth some off the boards sho she had my email.
Sharon - i guess it would depend on the program.... the one i'm in is wonderful...... auburn university..... reading education
Sharon - but i'm not taking a year off, nan
naneb - My husband went to Auburn, we lived there for awhile, My oldest son was born at Opelika
Sharon - just right up the road from me
Sharon - ginny.... have you been reading MOT?
naneb - I could go to USM in Hattiesburg or USA in Mobile but USM requires you go on the main campus so I could not teach
Ginny - I have been trying to get a hold of the book but haven't found one yet.
Sharon - i see..... that would deter me as well
naneb - ginny, I ordered mine from amazon.com
Sharon - the new research on reading comprehension is exciting
Ginny - I was going to see if they had one at the professional library here.
Sharon - i got mine from readinglady.com
Ginny - Yes, I taught reading in the middle school and many of the strategies I used were successful. It is good to stay up to date on this.
Ginny - Laura said she kept them in stock at Reading Lady...but I was hoping to just get one here.
Sharon - actually, i think the research itself was done in the '80's but it takes awhile to put research results into practice, i guess
Ginny - Yes, it does...just to prove that it works...it really takes years.
naneb - It was fun this week to watch my kids enjoy the Patricia Polacco books, by Thursday they could really see the ways the different books were alike. I used them in writing as well as reading and we discussed voice
Sharon - i think my dissertation will be about the internal voice of the reader in early readers...... still researching what has already been studied...... the field seems to be wide open though
Ginny - Naneb...natural integration... just popped that in there as we have some on the board who think integration is a no no.
naneb - they were actually arguing over who got what book next, Now, these are the same kids who in September would not read a book by choice if you paid them !!
Ginny - Sharon, what degree are you seeking?
Sharon - my goodness! integration a no-no?
Sharon - nan, that's wonderful!
Ginny - Yes, did you read the Underground Railroad strand?
Sharon - Ph.D in reading education, ginny
Ginny - Oh, you are brave.
Sharon - i didn't, ginny
naneb - Ginny, Polacco has such a strong voice that it was a great way to show this. I just got Easy Books Deluxe publishing software so with the Polacco books and the book software they are writing like crazy
Sharon - no.... it's just that i absolutely love teaching reading..... fascinated with the whole process
Ginny - Isn't it great when kids get motivated to write
naneb - Yes, they were good we made a terrific freedom quilt. We read fiction but used it to determine important facts it was interesting
Sharon - nan, did you use the nat'l geographic site? how was that?
naneb - Yes, and the horray for history site, we watched Follow the Drinking Gourd video and they would sing along by the end of the video
Ginny - Well, you guys, I just stopped by to let you know that Mae was sick. I don't know where Jan is. I don't think I heard from her today.
naneb - The biggest problem I had was that some of the books were too difficult. Next year I need to find easier text
Sharon - what grade level was the text you used, nan?
Ginny - Have a good evening...I'm going to go read a book!
Sharon - bye ginny
naneb - I had a variety of books, some were 3rd but some were from the school library and they were too hard
Alta Rose - Hi again!
naneb - next year I will get the My America books and order enough for groups. They are about 3rd grade and the ones i had were a big hit
naneb - Hi Alta rose
naneb - we are going to do pioneers next, probably Little house books in groups
naneb - Then end the year with King arthur and castles and knights
Alta Rose - Little House--They are my favourite!
Sharon - hi alta rose
Alta Rose - Hi!
naneb - I grew up right near where the Little House books take place. I went to camp at Lake Herman
Sharon - what grade do you teach, alta rose
Alta Rose - I envy you! I'd love to visit some places Laura Ingalls lived!
Alta Rose - I teach Grade One, and am looping to Gr. 2 next year.
naneb - I have two complete sets of the books and 4 sets of Laura and Jack
Sharon - i'm grade one, too..... but not looping... wish i could.... good group of kids
Alta Rose - I've been a fan since I read the books in 5th grade, many years ago.
naneb - my daughter and I read a chapter a night when she was young it was my favorite time of the day
Sharon - brb..... cell phone ringing
naneb - we would pile in the bed together and take turns reading
Alta Rose - I wanted to read them to my daughter--She's never been interested!
naneb - how old is she?
Alta Rose - I wish she would read them now, but she won't. Probably because she knows I like them. She's in 6th grade.
naneb - probably, my daughter and I started when she was 4 or 5
Alta Rose - She loves to read, but reads such low-quality literature.
Alta Rose - I should have tried when she was younger, I guess.
Sharon - my daughter wound up reading FOYK when i couldn't finish it ..... maybe she should have discussed it with the MOT email ring, nan!
naneb - be glad she is reading, she will get tired of trashy literature and find books with substance if she keeps reading
naneb - Wow, that book! I would not have finished it if I had not made the commitment to the group
Alta Rose - That's what my friends all tell me, naneb!
Alta Rose - Was FOYK not good?
naneb - I went throug ha phase of reading Harlequin romances but you read one you have read them all
Sharon - she reads lots..... loves classic literature.... she just finished narcissus and goldmund by herman hesse..... read it just for fun..... she doesn't like reading the romance type novels
naneb - It was very surprising and deals with some pretty serious subjects it is not a light read at all
Alta Rose - My daughter is really into the horror stories. R.L. Stein stuff.
Sharon - i just got so busy with graduate classes, couldn't finish it, alta rose
naneb - I am into reading childrens books!! Good thing huh?!!
Sharon - of course, my daughter is older...... 19
Sharon - i love children's books too, nan
naneb - I read all of the Harry Potter books during christmas vacation
naneb - my kids were all in book clubs and when their books came I would not let them have them until I read them
Alta Rose - Me too! I'm glad I still have kids to read picture books too,now that my own are too old for them!
Sharon - nan, did you read my post about next year's plans for implementing readers' workshop/ MOT...... do you think it's do-able?
naneb - I read all of the Polacco books last weekend, I need to go back to the library and seeif I can get more of them
Alta Rose - All of them during vacation, naneb? You must read a lot!
naneb - I think youcan do it. i will know more once I have info on all of my kids. If we do not split 6th grade I will have a really wide range of kids
naneb - I read fast Alta rose and I do not have little kids
Sharon - i expect a wide range of abilities as well, nan..... i'll be at a new life-sciences magnet school and the kids will come from all attendance areas...... housing projects to affluent families
Sharon - with no academic requirements for admission
naneb - so far i will have reading levels from 2nd to 4th grade that is a pretty wide span
naneb - I want to do some really intense phonics word with small groups too
Sharon - yes it is..... especially when they have LD's tacked on to that
naneb - as well as the word block
Sharon - yes, nan..... i need to implement some small group instruction as well
Alta Rose - How many students do you have, nan?
naneb - I just got the book reading reflex, which is the home version of phonograhix
naneb - this year I have 14 for reading
Alta Rose - That's quite a few if they are LD. Do you have any assistance?
Sharon - we have a limit of 18 in alabama (though it does go higher), but with proration problems, i think that limit is not going to stand
naneb - no assistance, it is a zoo most of the time. My principal commended me today on my classroom management and I said I just get a new whip every year, just kidding
Alta Rose - Hi Sidney!
Sharon - hello sidney
Sidney - I'm new. Just seeing what we are chatting about.
naneb - we have a limit of 18 on our roster but not class size
Sidney - I hope that I am not intruding.
Sharon - not intruding at all, sidney
naneb - the secret is have something interesting to do, not frustrating and not insulting to their intelligence
Sidney - we are chatting about Learning Disabled students?
Alta Rose - Does every grade in your school have an LD class? I'm curious about the LD students in other grades.
Sharon - really.... it's open, sidney..... the true topic is Mosaic of Thought
Alta Rose - Some of us haven't read the book yet.
Sidney - That does include everything!
naneb - like today, everyone chose their favorite Polacco book and completed a story map in complete sentences please, Then they could color the pysanky egg picture and put it on the bulletin board. Some kids worked on their stories on the computer and it was noisy but productive
Alta Rose - What grade do you teach, Sidney?
Sharon - alta rose, are you on the MOT yahoo email ring?
Alta Rose - No, because I haven't started reading the book yet.
Sidney - This year, I am teaching mainly Grade 10, with a bit of Grades 8 & 9. I have taught from Grade 3 to college
Sidney - How about you?
Alta Rose - Grade One.
naneb - I teach 6th grade reading, language and math but three other teachers share 7th and 8th, two teach math and one teaches language to both grades, we have 1 self contained class and the other teachers do inclusion and tutoring
Sharon - grade one, here too
naneb - yes, Alta rose you should join us
Sidney - I've taught individual subjects in grades 1 and 2. Sometime before I finish, I would like to try Grade1. I'm working up to it.
Sharon - it's ok if you haven't read the book.... you could still contribute to the conversations.... many of us are reading Debbie Miller's book now
Alta Rose - LOL! I'm just laughing because of my hubby's first reaction after I joined the 4Blocks ring! (Re. The number of emails!) I can just picture him if I join another one! LOL!
Alta Rose - Sidney, that's quite a jump from 10 to 1! You must be very versitile!
Sharon - there's only a handful of regular contributors...... even though our membership is in the 70's..... it's very manageable
Sidney - I first started teaching 36 years ago. You have to be versatile!
Alta Rose - OK, I'll look into it. Thanks.
naneb - there is sharon and Judy, Thea, Gail, Margaret and me
Sidney - Teaching can be such fun.
Sharon - marcia, too
naneb - oops!! i knew I was forgeting someone!! don't tell her!
naneb - How could I forget her and Deb
Sharon - lol! our little secret (especially since she is the group owner!)
Sidney - I'll have to move before teaching Grade 1. Kindergarten to Grade 3 are taught in Inuktitut.
Sidney - Tell me about this book that we are discussing.
Sharon - it's starting to storm here...... must get off the computer...... g'night all
Sidney - goodnight Sharon
Alta Rose - Goodnight, Sharon!
naneb - Mosaic of Thought is about teaching comprehension strategies
Sidney - that explains the mapping then
naneb - what mapping?
Sidney - I think someone was talking about mapping a story
Sidney - hello Dr. Gene
naneb - Oh, that was me, it was an assignment for my students. Identify characters, setting, problem solution and theme of the story
Alta Rose - Hello Dr. Gene!
Dr. Gene - Hello everyone, how are things, it's Friday!
Dr. Gene - Hi Sidney
Dr. Gene - Hello Alta Rose
Sidney - that would help with comprehension
Dr. Gene - What is going on?
naneb - the strategies are: schema, questioning ,visualization, inferring, determining importance and synthesis
Dr. Gene - Sounds good!
Sidney - thank you naneb
Dr. Gene - Are we all teacher here tonight?
naneb - The book talks about teaching these strategies in large blocks of time, gradually releasing responsibility to the student beginning with the youngest readers
Dr. Gene - teachers
Alta Rose - Yes.
Sidney - I am
Dr. Gene - I try!
naneb - I am a teacher
Alta Rose - What grade level, Dr. Gene?
naneb - Dr. Gene what grade do you teach?
Dr. Gene - I teach computer tech. in the LA area
Dr. Gene - Interesting question, f/t, 9-12, Part-time Grad. school, JC, and Adult
naneb - what software do you use, Microsoft Office?
Sidney - That gives you variety!
Dr. Gene - I am now starting to look for a new position, I am re-locating
Dr. Gene - Mircosoft yes
Dr. Gene - 98, & 200
naneb - brb, need a Coke
Sidney - What kind of position are you looking for?
Dr. Gene - My Pepsi is in the other room
Dr. Gene - Ok, here we go, Bus. HS/JC, F/T, Adult, ROP, F/T, or AP, or Sales Manager, or Tech Sales
Alta Rose -Don't mind me, I'm just figuring out how to use the little faces!
Dr. Gene - I am moving from Orange Co. CA to Riverside CO, CA
Dr. Gene - I am using the shotgun approach, because I need a job, I must work, but I can't drive to my old job, to far
Dr. Gene - I am also an Author, but my sales are not go enough to live on
Alta Rose - What do you write, Dr. Gene?
Sidney - I walk a block to work!
Dr. Gene - Nice!
Sidney - I hear that there is a real shortage of teachers in California. Will it be difficult to find a position in Riverside?
Dr. Gene - The one that I have published is 7001 RESUMES - The Job Search Work book and I am working on two more
Sidney - mind you, I have to go through frequent blizzards.
Dr. Gene - The Next book is for HS students, and Adults going into the workforce
Dr. Gene - And a computer training book
Dr. Gene - Yes but!
Sidney - Well, at least you know how to make a resume!
Dr. Gene - They are hiring teachers with no experience and no cred.
Dr. Gene - I hope!
Sidney - or is there a problem if you appear so qualified?
Dr. Gene - The problem I am old and expensive
Alta Rose - What state are you in, Sidney?
Sidney - I see that I was on the right path.
Dr. Gene - I have 5 teaching and Adm. Cred.
Alta Rose - I can relate, Dr. Gene. I'm not even 40, but can
Sidney - I am in the High Canadian Arctic. 5 polar bears have been shot outside my house this year.
Alta Rose - can't quit my division or I'd never be rehired.
Dr. Gene - There you go! but no one is to qualified, it is money!
Dr. Gene - Honey!
Dr. Gene - We all can continue to learn something
Alta Rose - Hey, I'm in Canada, too! In Alberta.
Dr. Gene - I am a young 62
Sidney - I hold the california Professional Administrative Services Credential and 2 teaching credentials too
Dr. Gene - Tall, dark, and expensive!
Sidney - Alta Rose, I should have guessed. I was born in edmonton
Dr. Gene - I have a life Calif. Cred. Vocational and an Adm
Dr. Gene - Plus, business and 2 voc. Ed.
Sidney - I hear that there is a shortage od CA Administrators too?
Dr. Gene - Yes, I am trying for it all!
Alta Rose - Are there Inuit where you live? Sorry if that's a stupid question.
Dr. Gene - Inuit?
Dr. Gene - Interns
Sidney - They are all Inuit where I live! For those of you in the US, Inuit is what we now call the Eskimos
Dr. Gene - No! we have Mexicas
Dr. Gene - Mexicans
Dr. Gene - Chinese
Alta Rose - That would be so interesting. You must be learning a lot. How long have you been there, Sidney?
Dr. Gene - and everyone else
Sidney - Just since July. I wanted another adventure
Alta Rose - Hi, Poonam!
poonam - can aanyone help me in coding
poonam - can aanyone help me in coding
Dr. Gene - Come to California it is an adventure every morning to see if you can stay alive
Sidney - My little son ( age 7) is in an Inuktitut immersion class
Sidney - that is the local language.
Sidney - Alta Rose. Should I ask about where in Alberta?
Alta Rose - Are you planning to stay there indefinately, Sidney?
poonam - anyone who is a coder her
Alta Rose - An hour and a half south of Edmonton.
Dr. Gene - I can't, sorry, I have not had that class
Sidney - Hard to say. I am a teaching principal. Initial 3 year contract but I have been told that they will keep on extending it. It has been going well.
Alta Rose - My son has enjoyed learning about the Inuit in his third grade social class.
Sidney - A nice are, Alberta Rose. I once lived in Wetaskawin. I'll leave geography now!!
Dr. Gene - Sidney - What you teach classes a half a day and the balance your are the Principal?
Sidney - Dr. Gene, have you thought about just changing houses to be closer to work?
Sidney - That is right, Dr. Gene
Dr. Gene - Interesting question, we looked, but there are several issues, one is my wifes job, and the other is that the cost of housing in the LA area is very high for junk! Anything that we could aford we would not want to live in
Sidney - I've enjoyed eating caribou and arctic char ( fish). Whale is so-so. Ordering our food for a year to be delivered on the once a year ship was a challenge.
Alta Rose - Hello, Jack.
jack - where can i order another teachers edition of a book
naneb - from the publisher, jack
Sidney - Dr. Gene, I thought that might be the answer but I thought that I would ask.
Alta Rose - Which book do you want?
jack - its called thunder mountan snowmobile
Dr. Gene - She likes here work and does well, she makes $15,000 more a year than I
jack - its a computerized business simulation
jack - its a computerized business simulation
jack - sorry for the 2 postings
Sidney - The Inuit are a very nice people.
Dr. Gene - And my wife would have to dive 30-40 miles to work on LA freeways, I don't want that
Dr. Gene - nor does she
Alta Rose - Did you live in California at one time, too, Sidney? That's quite a change from CA to the Arctic!
Sidney - Well, Riverside is a big area. Good luck!
jack - do i call the publisher or how does it work
Dr. Gene - She will also make more over time
naneb - http://www.mhhe.com/catalogs/025622112x.mhtml
jack - its a irwin/mcgraw-hill
naneb - try that link Jack
Alta Rose - brb
Dr. Gene - I am working on it and thanks, by the way contact Ingram for the book, they sell mine too
Sidney - I'm a canadian but I started an adventure a few years ago and worked in the Middle east, then California, then BC and now Nunavut. My children are asking where we are going next.
Dr. Gene - Also Riverside area is growing, but they do not have the jobs as in Orange Co, or LA Co.
naneb - Jack, did you have one and need a new one or what? If your school system uses this software they will probably give you the TE
jack - someone stole it so i have to get another copy
Dr. Gene - Call your school book salesmen he might get you a free one
jack - oh, i didnt know that
naneb - go to mcgraw hill and see if they list the area reps
Dr. Gene - I use to get free books all the time from those guys
naneb - i don't know I just did a search and found it
Alta Rose - Wow, Sidney! What an experience!
Dr. Gene - They want you to order for the classes so they will give you one free
Sidney - We have fun. My daughter , who has just turned 9, makes comparisons between the deser with the camels and the arctic with polar bears
Alta Rose - From one extreme to the other! A valuable learning experience for all of you. How cold does it get where you are now?
Sidney - For the Americans, the windchill was a little colder than minus 128 degree F.
Dr. Gene - Hay guys, I am going to go, but I just finish teaching a class - Adult, using my book so if you know anyone who is teaching job search or careers ask them to look at my book. It is in some Labr. across the country, and come schools, and JC's - it is on the Web too, 7001 RESUMES, I would help me get my other books done, Thanks and good night!
Sidney - windchill of minus 88 C
Alta Rose - Oh my.
Alta Rose - Goodbye Dr. Gene.
Sidney - Good night, Dr. Gene. You'll get a spot.
Dr. Gene - Libraries
Sidney - It is quite cold walking the bl;ock!
Dr. Gene - Good night again and thanks!
Sidney - It is unfortunate that senior people are overlooked by some Boards when it comes to hiring.
Alta Rose - It's a question of money. I could never quit my district now, or I'd never be rehired. I'm too expensive, yet like I say, not even 40 yet!
naneb - all of the new teachers at my school are brand new
Sidney - Boards should be fighting to get well qualified people. It is hard to sell education and experience to our students when our Boards don't believe in it.
naneb - yet, everyone complains about schools but they don't want to keep experienced, expensive teachers
Sidney - where abouts are you, naneb?
Sidney - True, naneb
naneb - Mississippi gulf coast, it was 78 degrees here today
Sidney - I visited Gautier a couple of times. nice area
Sidney - 78 degrees sounds lovely
naneb - come on!! How did you know I was from Gautier?
Sidney - I didn't. I stayed at a timeshare near there. I liked the area. reasonable priced housing last time I looked too.
naneb - did you stay at Hickory Hills?
Sidney - Great fishing!
naneb - my son's favorite pasttime is taking out his boat and fishing the river and bayous
Sidney - Right. Villas at Hickory Hills. Went fishing with Captain Jack (if my memory is right)
naneb - i live just down the street from there, You probably drove by my house
Sidney - What is the price of an average 3 bedroom home ther now?
naneb - small workd isn't it!!
naneb - oops! world not workd
Sidney - I probably did drive past. Nice homes there.
Sidney - It sure is a small world
Alta Rose - I think you missed it, too, nan, when Sidney said she was born only an hour and a half away from where I live.
naneb - Well, a new house about 1800 to 2000 sq. ft. is probably around $90 - 100,000 or more depending on area and amenities
Sidney - Incidentally, Sidney is a he! That is quite a coincidence too, Alta Rose
naneb - I did see that, Alta Rose, I was reading email and lurking
Alta Rose - Oops! Sorry!
Sidney - The name can go either way.
naneb - I assumed Sidney was a he!
naneb - probably because i have a friend named Sidney
Sidney - Hickory Hills is a very pleasant resort. I ended up getting a few weeks there.
naneb - My best friend lives just off the golf course, we may buy a house out there, We are looking to buy a different house
Sidney - That is a nice location.
naneb - big difference between Gautier,MS and north Alaska
Sidney - that's true. Actually, I am closer to Greenland
naneb - here the azaleas are blooming, trees have new leaves, need to mow the yard
Sidney - Here the snow will melt in July!
naneb - had the top down on my alfa on Thursday morning
naneb - I grew up in south Dakota so, I do know snow
Sidney - Alas, I must go. It was very pleasant chatting with both of you. Goodnight and I hope that our paths cross again.
Alta Rose - Well, I think I'm ready to turn in. Goodnight, all!
naneb - goodnight Sidney and alta rose
