Bella - After reading all the responses to scores, I'm more nervous than ever. Of course, I fully expect to be a banker, but I am learning so much in the process of becoming certified.

ginger - yep, yesterday was rough, but some of that has to do with the idea that so much of who you are goes into your entries and it seems outrageous that you could do what you think is your best and not "make the score"

Becca - It is strange how attached I am becoming to my computer, my standards book and these entries!

Bella - I have a question about the SS entry. In the video, do I have to show the children doing the art or can I show the finished product. The students have made vest and "Buffalo hides" depicting stories through pictures. My unit is Thanksgiving. My social skill is working together. I'm doing my video on Monday. Any suggestions?

I THINK (but am not positive) that the video needs to be the kids discussing something.......at least a part of the video should be. They could be discussing how to do their artwork...or discussing what they learned by having DONE their artwork, etc. But I do not believe that you have to show them making it/doing it. But please DO check the directions!

Bella - I plan to have a discussion about the Indians and Pilgrims working together to help the Pilgrims survive. We were then going to discuss the stories that they made up. We did hides with brown paper sacks where you apply wax and wrinkle them up, then iron. They really look like hides.

ginger - my art consisted of my class creating our own class song. We had studied patriotic symbols and had made our own flag, too

DebbieMc. - huge and elaborate doesn't mean they are natural integrations. It can be simple as long as it fits you're unit and is integrated.

Kelly M - hobbsd - if you retake, all fees must be paid by January 31.
Kathy/SDak - It's hard to give blanket advice to bankers (I do prefer Adv. Candidate), but the main thing is to make sure you don't look at this as failing. It just breaks my heart when people say they failed. Enjoy your family, the holidays, your students, and take a breath. Then look to see what you'd like to do. Reflecting is a big part of this process.

DebbieMc. - liz, any student writing but make sure that you use things that show what the students can and can't do. That helps assessors see that you know the child and can use strategies to improve literacy skills.
Patsi - liz for my lit entry I used one option A and one B. I used journal entries and pages from books that a student had written. My kids are Kdg. age.
