sandy - I am new and would like helpful hints with National Certification process
sandy - I am a middle childhood generalist certifier
jennifer - I am a banker in early childhood. missed by 25 points. to sandy..keep checking the NBPTS web site. there is a lot of good information there and they are willing to answer your questions.
wizzlewolf - Sandy, are you in the MC Gen email support group?
sandy - thank you Jennifer, I am really worried. I a have spent 60 hours already and not very far.
wizzlewolf - Sandy, don't feel bad. By the time your are done, you will have spent hundreds and hundreds of hours.
sandy - I am not in the MC Gen email support group - how do i get there?
wizzlewolf - But it is worth it!!
wizzlewolf - I have an easy way....go to my NB website and scroll down to "EGROUPS" and click the MC GEN link
wizzlewolf - It will take you right to the join page (upper right corner "SUBSCRIBE"
jennifer - The process is long but it is or will be well worth it in the end. I felt disappointed when I did not certify this year..but like my brother told me at Christmas..just think about all the people who are too afarid to even try. Last year my computer crashed at the school and I did not have internet at home; the website would have helped me a great deal then as it is doing now. Just set goals to complete each section by a certain date and then strive to meet that goal.
wizzlewolf - Here is my web address:
sweetcheeks - Any other bankers out there?
wizzlewolf - http://www.wizzlewolf.com/nbc.html
algebra - I am a canidate fro AYA Math
wizzlewolf - Jennifer, the important thing is you are still working!! Good for you!
algebra - I did not realize how much work it was going to be
wizzlewolf - WOW, what a surprise "algebra", you are a MATH candidate??? LOL
jennifer - Hey, I didn't either. But once I start something I finish it.
algebra - Have any of you done AYA Math
sweetcheeks - I missed the EC certification by 27 points. Talked to a director of SPED who missed by only 2. Don't know which would be worse- her 2 or my 27!
algebra - yep surprise, surprise, surprise
wizzlewolf - Yes, it is a LOT of work. When you become certified, you will see it was worth all the tremendous effort!
jennifer - I had a friend who missed by one point. I think I prefer to miss by 25. I would have been devastated to miss by one.
algebra - I hope so
sweetcheeks - It's not doing more work that is getting me about banking... it's sending in more $!!!!!!!
sandy - algebra - I did not realize how much work it was either, but once I start something, I have to finish. Sandy
algebra - It is overwhelming, any suggestions where to start
wizzlewolf - Sweetcheeks, yes that issue bothers me too. I don't think bankers should have to pay a cent...!
algebra - i have been reading everything in the box and studying the standards but that is all
wizzlewolf - I was shocked to find out the bankers have to pay more money.
sandy - TO Everyone - Wha tdo you think National Certification does for you? Sandy
sweetcheeks - Take my money!!!!
wizzlewolf - That is a great start algebra!
algebra - wizzle how long have u been certified?
jennifer - Amen...I sent an e mail to the NBPTS and suggested that they use the i. d. numbers and enter the scores as they are completed once all ten areas are complete tally and send the score reports out. It would save the headache of waiting for a given date..It would give bankers time to gather the more. It is or will be hard for me to cough up the 600.00 to send in to retake my two entries. If they would use my suggestion and probably others have suggested the same thing...bankers would be able to find out scores earlier.
wizzlewolf - 1999
michelle - algebra - most people advised me to start with entries 5 and 6 because they are something you've already done
algebra - congratulations wizzle
algebra - thanks michelle, that makes sense
wizzlewolf - Well, gee thank you. However, I feel like an OLD NBCT now. It seems like a lot of time has gone by
jennifer - sweetcheeks what areas are you going to redo?
sweetcheeks - I thought you were just "squaring" the answers. HA!
sandy - Algebra - I received my box in Sept. and have worked on it each month and during vacation I have entry 5 almost done and ideas on all the other entries. This is my first year to try but I am worried. Sandy
sweetcheeks - I'm considering redoing 5 entries "just in case".... I don't want to have to go through this again next year!!! Can also write off on my taxes!
algebra - that sounds like a good start
jennifer - how can you use it as a tax write off?
michelle - sweetcheeks - Does your state help pay for any retakes?
wizzlewolf - It is a "professional" expense
algebra - how many possible points can you get from the portfolio and how many from the assessment center exercises?
jennifer - thanks! that will help. I always itemize anyway..anything to save me from paying uncle sam so much of the hard earned money....
sweetcheeks - It goes under the new education write off section... can't remember what, but I wrote it off last year (kind of like a college class). I do my own taxes... bought Turbotax last year... It's awesome! I recommend to all to get it and do your own taxes as it walks you through everything. I live in Iowa, and the state pays half of the ORIGINAL entry fee.
sandy - I would like to ask again - what is the benefit of being nationally certified?
susan - oops, meant to pick a color that no one was using. I just thought I would check this out. I am amazed at all of the assistance on the EA/ELA list and Ex Needs. I wish all that help and ideas had been available in 99.
algebra - sandy in SC we get a $6000 raise and our district is really pushing it and we don't have to pay to go thru the process as long as we pass, the state will pay for it
wizzlewolf - Algebra, the entries are "weighted" differently. You need to get a total average of 2.75. However, all the entries are not worth the same.
jennifer - in my state we have a one time $2000.00 bonus and an additional $7500.00 year increase for the life of the certification. It is also something that is that to strive for yourself. I always need a challenge to keep me fresh. If national boards isn't a challenge enough for somebody then nothing is.
michelle - Algebra - I think points vary according to your certificate area. In mine entires 5 and 6 were "worth" 4; assessment worth 8; and portfolio worth 15.
wizzlewolf - What states are you all from???
sweetcheeks - Still trying to find a benefit as I pick my ego up off the floor and retry. Guess we can say we did something that most people wouldn't even have attempted as it is too much work. We are a rare breed.
jennifer - I am from sc also.
susan - Susan-Florida
michelle - From Florida
wizzlewolf - <--------Florida
sweetcheeks - Iowa. Out of the 8 of us in EC that attempted last year (in the entire state) , only 1 of us passed. Not me.
wizzlewolf - WOW, go Florida!!
sandy - I wish I got a $6000 raise - in Oregon they give a raise only to teachers who do not have a masters and who do not have hours beyond a masters. They get to go to the last column in the pay scale. I have my masters and 60 credits beyond so i won't get one penny. Sandy - I have been told it will improve my teaching and make me look at my teaching - is this true
michelle - Sweetcheeks - How much snow is up there?
sweetcheeks - No kidding!! What does Florida give out as a benefit?
jennifer - I have had a tough time trying to get started. I have started gathering the info for the literacy question and taped the video for the science and gathered info for that. I have to stop reading the "junk" that I missed for so long last year and buckle down to get to work.
michelle - Florida gives a 10% raise, my county adds $2,000 to that. I can get an additional 10% for mentoring.
sweetcheeks - Too much!! About a foot and a half on the ground. Like everything about Iowa except the winter weather. YUCK!
wizzlewolf - $3600 for NB status and another $3600 for mentoring ($2400 each time after taxes )
susan - Michelle-which county? We only get the 10% & 10% of the average FL teacher's salary. Martin District.
jennifer - Our pay scale goes to 17 years. After that, you get only what the state mandates from the legislature. However, our county does not always do that. I don't understand why or how they get by with it. but...
sweetcheeks - Iowa gives $2500 per year for 10 years... staarted out as $10,000 for 5 years. Not enough $, so they lowered it.
jennifer - We do have a scale for bachelors, BS plus 18, masters, masters plus 30 and doctrate
michelle - From Broward.
wizzlewolf - Has anyone started videotaping yet?
sweetcheeks - I really bombed the AC exercises. And I'm usually good at writing "off the cuff". Actually left there feeling good about what I did (except there is no spell checker.)
wizzlewolf - They don't count spelling.
jennifer - about the amount of EC that passed in your state. We had three that tried for EC. none of us made it. There were 3 from the highschool and all three made it. I didn't understand that at all. Is it because they have only one topic and we have to address all areas of the curriculum.
wizzlewolf - At the National Board Convention that was one of the topic of discussion....spelling and grammar The assessors are told not to consider that....hmmmmmmm
michelle - Sandy, finally to get to your question. Becoming a NBCT really means a great deal. I enjoyed the challenge - I always have to be pushing myself in some way. I also enjoy the sense of achievement and the few extra buck in the paycheck help. I've also noticed some of my colleagues treating me with a little more respect - means a lot because sometimes I'm the rogue teacher in my department.
sweetcheeks - I know, but it still left me feeling like someone might be judging my knowledge or ability to write by my typing skills. I type fast, but rely on spellcheck to catch the mistakes.
wizzlewolf - Time goes fast in there, doesn't it?
susan - sweetcheeks-absolutely there is only a SMALL % of people who try this endeavor. It is an experience. Think about all of the outstanding things that you do do. Perhaps it was the writing that threw you off. I think the writing is quite different. I have gathered some great phrases for reflective writing; I think that is very hard for us. Prepare the assessment center responses ahead of time; you have a general-broad idea of the question.
Susan - IL - Time goes so quickly at the AC that I can harndly imagine 6 30 minute entries. Glad I don't have to give that a try.
jennifer - talk about fast! When they reduce the amount of time to 30 for the 6 entries it will fly!!! I used the entire 90 minutes on each entry and had about 2 minutes left to proof. before time was up
sweetcheeks - I was told "that always happens during the first year of any assessment area. (not too many people passing.) Was that supposed to make us flunkies feel better or worse?
sweetcheeks - What are you guys talking about--- are they reducing the time and increasing the # of questions?
susan - yes, the assessment center was extremely intense. I can't imagine a shorter time period. i used every second; I type fast and my wrists ached!
sandy - I will start my videotaping when I get back to school this week. I never did get an answer - does anyone work on the national certification for something other than money?
Susan - IL - the new generation of testing will be 6 tests that are 30 minutes long.
jennifer - self satisfaction
wizzlewolf - Susan, I know. That seems a bit strange.
michelle - Sandy - Yes! The challenge and the sense of personal achievement! I really became much more aware of myself as a teacher.
sandy - I realize that the reason I am doing this is to improve my teaching and to reflect
D - I am not doing it for money... the amount of work hardly makes $2,000 a year worth it. I am learning about myself as a teacher...
sweetcheeks - Will the new testing be for ALL areas? I plan on retaking 3 of my 4 AC exercies.
D - The new testing doesn't affect this summer.
Susan - IL - When I completed certification in IL I had my fees paid but that was all the support financially. I entered the challenge for lots of other reasons.
kathy - May sound dmb, but is the AC anything like comps. for a mastersdegree?
Beck - Your retakes should be just like you originally signed on for...at least that's what I've heard.
susan - Sandy-I worked on it for personal proof of self worth-not exactly that way; I had never received my master's degree. I moved to FL for sun and fun with only a short time remaining to work on my masters. WEll, too much sun and fun, so I never finished it. I worked with a lot of people that had all the credentials and I did not, so I went after this and it served that self satisfaction, personal growth thing. The $ are nice.
Susan - IL - New testing only effects the 3 new areas -- the 2 pe and EC/Mc art
D - My fees were paid, but I considered doing it and paying it myself.
lizzy - hi I need some advice on a recent observation I had help.
wizzlewolf - The assessment entries are a bit unique. However, the testing environment is just like when you take your GRE exam. The computer set up is the same. The test is different though.
Beck - Kathy, the AC is very much like comps for your masters except you know generally what the questions will relate to so in a way, it's easier.
sweetcheeks - The AC gave me 4 computer prompts (of which I had advance notice to prepare for). Had to write and write for 90 minutes each to address how I should best answer each problem situation. In looking at the questions ahead of time, I thought they looked like something you couldn't study for as they were all "what would you do if..." questions. Some people havvetold me they prepared for a LONG time for them... some have told me they didn't prepare at all. I know what I did didn't work as I got low scores on 3 of them.
Susan - IL - I didn't focus on the AC until I had finished the portfolio. Had planned to take some time off in between but didn't
D - When do we know about the testing schedule? I am so focused on the portfolio that I haven't thought about it.
wizzlewolf - Also, it depends on your subject area as to any advanced prompts. Some subject areas get more advanced notice of prompts.
wizzlewolf - You don't have to think about that now.
michelle - D - don't think about the testing until you mail your box.
penny - Lizzy-what happened?
sweetcheeks - You can schedule your own time to test. I went to my old college in June of last year . It was at a Sylvan Learning center.
jennifer - I only started focusing on the AC after spring break. Pulled national standards for science, math, reviewed the play theory by all the well knowns, wrote about what I already did in the classroom for the language arts questons.
Beck - You can schedule a test time from May until late June. The info will come after the portfolios are due.
wizzlewolf - They will send you an assessment center guide in the spring. It will give you all the info on the assessment center exercises.
Susan - IL - If I remember correctly, prompots, etc. are included in the boxes now.
sandy - I will not sart working on the AC until I finish the portfolio. I studied for hours for my Master's comps - I took orals and written and had to present a thesis.
D - I think that we just have a idea of the general areas.
lizzy - I received a U rating on a cooperative learning activity
wizzlewolf - Sandy, that is what you should do. Don't even think assessment center until then.
D - The specifics are given to us at the AC.
penny - do you know why?
jennifer - The exact prompts were not given last year.. I think they change from year to year. In EC the math prompt was constructing curriculum on statistic and probability. They totally threw me until I looked at the standards. Graphing...piece of cake blew the math completely out of the water. Bombed on science.
susan - Kathy-no questions are dumb; it's stuff one needs to know. Well, I have never completed my masters so I wouldn't know, but I treated the four areas to be tested at the AC as major research projects and tried to become an expert in the four areas. I searced all over the web, read everything available and wrote possible responses. Other than the intensity of the situation my scores were great at the AC. But, the area that I felt I had the most experience in, I scored the lowest-ESOL. My area is EA/ELA. I still really feel some great advice is to outline the standards until everything you do you know you do because it is ......., a particular phrase from a standard. Absolutely don't worry about the assessment center now. You will have time to prepare for it.
D - What does U mean?
Susan - IL - I think the advice to not worry about AC now and just focus on the portfolio is a good idea.
penny - unsatisfactory
lizzy - Just because she said I took to long explaining to the groups their weakness and strenghts U means unsatisfactory
lizzy - yeah
penny - Had you given each person in group a specific job?
wizzlewolf - After your portfolio is due, you will have time to prep for AC then.
D - That's pretty harsh for taking too long toexplain something.
wizzlewolf - Hi Sinetag
D - sinetag, do you have the sleeping bags ready for the slumber party?
sinetag - hello
penny - Did you preteach the entire class how each job should be handled through modeling behaviors?
sweetcheeks - Any other EC bankers online?
Strick - i thought AC scores were 1 to 4 like everything else???
sinetag - absolutely!
D - I am on my way!!
lizzy - I wanted to know if you ever so the same things when you working with cooperative learning groups.pare ta
Strick - i am atempting aya science this yr
penny - what did you see or experience?
wizzlewolf - Strick, they are scored the same as your portfolio (numbers)
sandy - O think one of the most difficult things to do is teach 31 kids everyday and serve on several committees and teach classes in the district and do national certification - how do we do it?
Strick - wizzle-that's what i thought so where did the U come in????
wizzlewolf - Sandy, I guess that is why getting through NB is so special.
sweetcheeks - Or have 4 kids at home , ages 2 - 12, and a husband who doesn't do much to help! Supermom!
Strick - sandy-B/c we are super heroes in disguise!!!!!
michelle - I think the U is about something other than NB.
lizzy - l she said discussing at length the inappropriate behavior students exhibited during the groups activity interfered with the flow of the instructional plan.s
wizzlewolf - Strick, I have no clue what they are talking about (U?)
Strick - okay...thought i had missed something!!!
D - Sometimes the focus of the lesson needs to be working together... did you have the students self evaluate?
Susan - IL - Mangaging to complete certification is a major juggling act.
wizzlewolf - No, you are ALERT!!
lizzy - Well one of the students in one of the groups stated to argue over a marker.u
penny - were the students involved in assessing their own behaviors?
D - U is what Lizzy got on a recent observation.
Strick - any suggestions??? for 5 and 6????
wizzlewolf - An observation for teacher evaluation?
penny - I really use coop learning very selectively now and feel it has been overused and overrated.
sinetag - what is your question about 5 and 6 strick
lizzy - yes
Strick - the admin. at our school is usually understanding and realizes that they only see a small part of what really goes on
michelle - Strick - what have you listed so far?
D - I would guide the students towards self-evaluation...
wizzlewolf - Strick, write and show EVERYTHING you can think of that you have done for students, families, prof. development. However, make sure you show it ties into STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT!!
sweetcheeks - Whatever you do for #5, make sure you show how it relates to improved student learning.. I didn't do a good job of showing how my things relate, and therefore didn't get too high of a score. Had a lot of "stuff" that looked good, but had to stretch to get them to relate to increased student learning.
kathy - penny, I agree with you on coop. learning. I use it selectively, too.
Strick - sinetag---just looking for any pointers.....am trying to write them now.......did you use bullets to separate each accomplishment?
lizzy - However I approached the group and asked them to come up with ways to solve their problems
Beck - I went through the process alone so I didn't really understand the significance of tying everything to student achievement, but now I know!
sweetcheeks - I was told you could be an advisor to God, but if it didn't improve student learning, the assessors don't care.
michelle - Format isn't that important as long as it's clear. I labeled each Description # and then had subheadings.
wizzlewolf - You can use bullets, lists, narrative paragraphs. Whatever floats your boat.
sinetag - be clear on what your role was in each accomplishment, i have seen many (unsuccessful) entries where the candidates wrote about wonderful programs and achievements at their schools and as you read it the candidate was *nowhere* in the accomplishment
penny - Lizzy, how will this one eval affect your carreer?
lizzy - and they did but their resposes weren't to appropiate one of them suggested wrestling
wizzlewolf - The content is far more important than format.
lizzy - can you imagine
Strick - for 5 (so far) i helped/am helping a special ed teacher prepare to teach my subject to her kids....have carried my kids to elem to have them teach to smaller ones, i am chair of safety committee and have presented workshops and set up first aid classes, i am a first responder for the school
penny - sounds like this is not a group of individuals who can handle alot of creative lessons and freedom.
sweetcheeks - sinetag- sounds like you might be an assessor- what things did people do that were successful entries.
Beck - Lizzy, I would talk to the evaluator...ask for some guidance and maybe a chance to do the evaluation again. I think she will admire you for your willingness to learn from a mistake (or what she perceives as a mistake).
sandy - When I wrote my accomplisments i had to go back and look at font and size and one inch margins which the book states - is it a big factor?
lizzy - I feel alot because this is my first year teaching third grade however I've been teaching math for three years
michelle - Strick - always connect what you've done to impact on student learning.
sinetag - i'm not an assessor but I have worked with close to 500 candidates over the last couple of years and so I have seen it *all*
lizzy - and Math is my area
Strick - thought about discussing some workshops i have attended and how they affected my students
penny - Do you have a generally good relationship with this evaluator?
jennifer - sinetag what did you certify in?
sinetag - i think for 5 and 6 successful entries are well-organized and make it clear what the accomplishment was, what the candidate's role was in the accomplishment, why it was significant, and what its impact was
sinetag - MCGEN
sweetcheeks - Sinetag- can you give us specifics? I have a Golden Apple award, a state fire prevention award, helped coauthor a manual on progress monitoring, taught inservices about the topic, etc., etc.,... scored a 1.625 on it. Thought going into it, it would be my strongest entry... WRONG!!!!
Beck - I'm also certified in MC/Gen!
sinetag - remember that an accomplishment can impact student learning, and/or your own practice, and/or the practice of others
sweetcheeks - What things can I show that show the impacts?
sinetag - take one of those accomplishments as an example... maybe the fire prevention award..
lizzy - However when the student came up with that respose I told him that was inappropiate . I asked the other groups to help them and they did and the students resolved the problem
sinetag - for that award: what was the accomplishment?
lizzy - Well she doesn't really talk to me
Susan - IL - I also think it's important to provide strong evidence on how the accomplishment impacted the student's learning.
Strick - for 6 i plan to talk about lessons i use to involve parents, i send notes home for students performance (like a congratulation note) i serve on a volunteer rescue squad that serves part of the school district so kids see me there too, i teach CPR in the community (at business where some parents work)
lizzy - Only with my principle
wizzlewolf - Sweetcheeks, don't worry. You aren't alone. There are a lot of people with great accomplishments and they score low too. They don't care what you have done or won or achieved. They want to know how it has effected your students learning.
sweetcheeks - I really thought I related all to student learning... except maybe the golden apple award---- had to really stretch to show how that impacted learning, but wanted to include it as I thought it looked good.
Beck - Maybe the 3 of you could sit down together... Ask for an appointment.
penny - That sounds very difficult, because you need to know what she expects her teachers to be doing. For example, our district is really pushing direct instruction as a main thrust. This has been made crystal clear to all of us.
Susan - IL - Don'
kathy - I've done close to 60 sp.ed. evals during the past five yrs. I plan to use this in 5. As I visited the other classes for the eval. i always tried to bring something back to my class to use. Will this fly?
lizzy - really? not small group
wizzlewolf - I would love to go to assessor training for 5 and 6. I really don't understand what they are looking for either on those two entries. I have heard candidates brag about getting a 4.0, but I then they don't offer it up for the reading....LOL
Susan - IL - Don't mean to gloss over the DA's but do remember that they carry the least weight of all the entries.
penny - So someone other than your principal evaluates you formally?
sinetag - i think a lot of candidates forget that impacting your own practice or the practice of others is as important as impacting student learning
penny - We also use flexible groups to follow up after instruction.
sinetag - wizzle i got a 4 on entry 5 and you are welcome to read it
Strick - anybody aya certified????
wizzlewolf - Send it to me via email!! wizzlewolf@aol.com
sweetcheeks - Actually, I've had offers to read some of those good entries... we'll see if I really get them through email or not.
lizzy - Yes the principle and two asistant principals
sinetag - what word processor do you use?
michelle - Yes! AYA/ELA
jennifer - I don't understand how they scored those two entries. I tied everything to student learning or what the impact was for the family or community. Still scored less than 2.75 on each but over 2.25 on each.
sinetag - what is your email address?
sandy - sinetag - I would love to read your entry 5, I ahve no idea if what I wrote is going to be passable
Strick - i guess i'm just having a hard time getting motivated....thought i would get a lot done over christmas....just too much other stuff to do and the last couple of days i have been lazy
wizzlewolf - I would love to read it. I mentor candidates in all areas. I have never seen a four on entry 5
wizzlewolf - wizzlewolf@aol.com
sinetag - do you have word?
penny - Lizzy, will you have a post-observation conference?
Strick - michelle---did you have to do an entry on assessing student work???
sandy - Sinetag - my email address is sduty@teleport.com
wizzlewolf - yes, I am "bilingual". I have a MAC and a PC...I do webpages....LOL
sweetcheeks - Have to put 2 ittle ones to bed. May be back on later. Good luck to all!
michelle - Strick - I had to submit one entry on writing and one on student response to text.
sandy - wizzlewolf - what are you bilingual in?
wizzlewolf - Bye Sweetcheeks!! Good Luck!!
penny - Do you other teachning friends feel that this evaluator is fair and respected?
wizzlewolf - COMPUTERS!! LOL
michelle - Wizzle - I also have a MAC and a PC. Sometimes find it hard to "cross over." LOL
Strick - michelle--i have to do one on just plan student assessment....was going to ask for pointers
Beck - Hey Sinetag, I didn't think that mentors were supposed to share their completed entries with candidates. Has this changed? I thought our job was to guide them using their work.
lizzy - I did that's where she gave me my U rating and asked if I understood and I told her I did However I would not accepted and I went over her head and spoke to my principalpand
wizzlewolf - I speak "Mac" and "PC"!!!
wizzlewolf - Michelle, which do you like best?
lizzy - They told me to fight it
Strick - beck--i thought it was up to the individual about sharing their work
michelle - MAC for design and processing - except PCs have cooler games.
Beck - I don't know - I'm asking.
sandy - I need help with entry 6 - what do you suggest for ideas - I have lots of documentation
wizzlewolf - Beck, I am not a candidate. I am a mentor. I am already a NBCT. Sinetag, you can send it to me.
penny - I have been teaching 25 years in PA.I know that a bad eval is very upsetting.
sinetag - beck: you are correct about sharing entries. I offered to share it with Wizzlewolf because I know she has certified already.
lizzy - The principle tood me to write everything down and she would sit down with both of us and discuss what happened.dsbw
lizzy - yes especially if it's in an area your most comfortable in.
wizzlewolf - This is for my own infomation to help me mentor others and give guidence to them. I am not going to give them sinetags accomplishments!! LOL
Strick - okay---goodnight all
Susan - IL - Sandy what do you have for documentation?
sandy - please answer about entry 6 - I have to sign off - Go Oregon State Beavers
wizzlewolf - Well gee, I am so glad you all came tonight!! This has been great!!
sinetag - done!
penny - perhaps you need to arm yourself with reading some current journal articles on cooperative reading before that sit-down pow-wow.
wizzlewolf - Don't forget, you are all welcome to use my National Board Links Website......
lizzy - okay thanks
wizzlewolf - http://www.wizzlewolf.com/nbc.html
lizzy - I hope I can get a job when I move out of stat I worl in NY
Maggie - Hey, everybody! Glad to see this room up and runnin'!
penny - Lancaster county in PA is a great place to live and teach.
lizzy - OOPS State work
Maggie - I really can talk without using exclamation marks...
wizzlewolf - sinetag, downloading now!! Thanks so much!! I will DESTROY it after I read it....!! Security purposes you know!!! LOL
michelle - G'night all and Happy New Year!
sandy - Susan - I have weekly newsletters, E-Mails to parents, classroom web site, parent phone calls, messages home with kids, parent conferences other than normal ones, I have 10 parents a week that work in my classroom with different kids on different projects for different needs, helpers from the business community. What else should I have? Please help
wizzlewolf - Seriously, this is great. I have a stack of entries to read. Hopefully, this will help me get a better handle on entry 5. Thanks so much!!
sandy - Wizzlwwolf - please help me with entry 5 or I could mail it to you to read and you could send it back to me?
wizzlewolf - I need to take the REAL wizzlewolf out for a walk. He has been so patient watching me type. I hope I see you all next week!!
