wizzlewolf - Judy, I am hesitating with an immediate answer for two reasons. One is that since this is a pilot, the directions may not be the same for those in the process right now. Two: Since this is a NEW certification, it may take on a different shape as well. You have to be careful before you give candidates or in your case, pilot people a pat answer.

judy3ca - Randi, it probably is like yours. Actually I'm going to write about TWO students, but separately. I haven't even selected the second student yet.
Randi - Judy--think Dragnet. "Just the facts, ma'am" and all that!
wizzlewolf - OK Judy, here goes....Writing entries 101....Start the passage with the beginning of the question. For example, the characteristics of this student include blah, blah, blah. Then as you identify different characteristics, use their labels for each passage and cover as many as you can to satisify their desire for detail.

wizzlewolf - It is like when you write a grant. Think of your audience. Also, use their language. In this case, it is the NB standards. Talk their talk so they will understand you.

wizzlewolf - OH GEESH!!! Judy, one thing that NB does often is organize things so it is impossible not to seem like you are repeating yourself and being redundant. Just get rid of that fear and be redundant. That is just the NB way. Get over it now.

Stephanie - by the time I cut out all of the "extra" stuff it didn't FEEL so redundant - just in the first 12 drafts.

Randi - well, when you have questions like "how do these goals address the students needs? How does your instructional approach address the students needs? How does your collaboration help you understand the students needs?" You HAVE to repeat yourself!!

wizzlewolf - I kind of thing that things for the new certificate will be very similar because the new generation certs are still so new. However, you just never know. Therefore, you should always read the portfolio directions of that certification before you answer specific quesitions. You won't want to steer someone the wrong way.
