Diana - You are a special person, ladybird!
Barb/2/NE - ladybird, as part of your job, do you travel to Private or Parochial school's to provide services?
ladybird - I hate it when people say that, I just work with special kids
Barb/2/NE - psych, that's true, we use the tried and true and a whole lot of learning is going on!
psych - In Kansas the kids must travel to the public school for services generally.
Diana - I mean that you have a special talent. I couldn't do it.
Barb/2/NE - Diana, how big is your school? We are 575, K to 8
Diana - We are about the same size
Diana - We have 2 of every grade - average 35 per class
Barb/2/NE - Diana, do you subscribe to the REAP newsletter?
Diana - Never heard of it
Barb/2/NE - I get tons of practical ideas for our classroom

Diana - with the newsletter, that is
Barb/2/NE - psych, that is small, lots of dedication to keep those school's open
Barb/2/NE - Diana, let me check, I have the email, somewhere!
Diana - psych, my son attends a small school-it is like a family
psych - Yes one Principal is 72 yrs. old! I LOVE talking to her about education and the way it should be and the way it has become!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Barb/2/NE - Diana, it's organized by a teacher in Florida, everyone submits ideas, once a month, and she compiles it and sends it on
Diana - I would love to get it
Barb/2/NE - The REAP newsletter lead to a wonderful experience this fall, our school made a Jubilee Pilgrimage on our campus!
psych - Yes Diana I feel very accepted at these 2 schools. I feel accepted at many others but the closeness to a devine being is unique when I deal with the school as a whole.
Diana - I like your addition, barb
Diana - do you teach, Dave?
Barb/2/NE - Diana, both Dave and Psych are regular chatters in the general room, very nice fellows!
Dave MontrealCan - Do any of you have sight impaired children mainstreamed into your class?
psych - I can vouch for Dave but not sure about ME !!
Barb/2/NE - Diana, here is the email for the REAP newsletter, I will send it in a private message, so check above your typing box in a moment
Diana - I had one that was losing hie sight but still functioned well. He was learning braille through the public school system
Dave MontrealCan - Diana was it a positive experience for you?
Diana - It worked out well. I had to make only minimal adjustments
Dave MontrealCan - Diana I am sight impaired myself and was mainstreamed into the regular classroom setting from K through University
RO - I am a 2nd gr teacher in a small parochial school
Diana - hello Ann and RO
Barb/2/NE - RO, me too! Our first Communion is NEXT Sunday!
Diana - Dave that is so interesting. What accomodations were made for you?
psych - So you know all about using paper on both sides!!!!
RO - We ust had penance and Communion is in May
Barb/2/NE - psych, how true that is!!!!!!!
RO - My class is very excited about it
Diana - What a special time, RO
psych - See Barb! I am one
Barb/2/NE - RO, last year was the first year for moving it up, it was conflicting with the comfirmation kids, the Religious Ed director asked us to move it up
Dave MontrealCan - Diana I used adaptive aids in the classroom such as a small telescope to read the blackboard and take notes, I used special reading glasses with double magnification and also a closed circuit television as well
Barb/2/NE - RO, today, Father had a special Mass just for our kiddos, to go over the parts of the mass and answer questions! It was so dear!
Diana - I am fascinated, Dave. I'm glad they were able to so that for you.
RO - It is nice to have it in the spring when the weather is nicer here. Right now it is snowy and cold. So this is a good time to logged on
Barb/2/NE - RO, aren't you in New York State?
Dave MontrealCan - Diana where are you located?
Diana - I will brag about our 80 degree weather here in Tampa
Barb/2/NE - RO, exactly, crossing my fingers that the weather gets better! We have about 3 inches of snow on the ground today
RO - BArb, I love the idea of the special Mass. I wonder if our priest would do that for us? I thinkI will ask.
psych - St. Cicilia is the Patron Staint of-------------?
Barb/2/NE - RO, it was so simple and sweet!
RO - Yes I am in NYS
Barb/2/NE - psych, music!
Diana - psych, ???
RO - Is Cecelia patron of Music??
psych - No DIANA you may NOT! It is 6 below here right now with the wind chill
Barb/2/NE - RO, didn't we email about stewardship?
Diana - Dave, I'm in sunny Florida. You are in Canada I assume.
RO - Yes Barb, and our priest never did naything about it!!
Dave MontrealCan - Diana MontrealCanada
Diana - psych, I feel for you!!!
psych - Good for you guys  Daughter chose her and then later she became a music teacher :)
RO - WE never see him at school anyway!
Barb/2/NE - Now, psych, it's spelled Cecilia!
Barb/2/NE - RO, that's too bad, but I guess the stewardship thing being dropped it for the better
Diana - RO, I found that if you look to other churches in the area you might find another priest to help you out
psych - Barb when are they gonna get spell check in here?? I never could spell very well!
Barb/2/NE - Diana, really? won't that cause hard feelings? we are a parish school
RO - At least I don't have to monitor weather they go or not. We talk a lot about how they could be deciples for their parents, though
Dave MontrealCan - well just thought i would drop in and say hi hope to see all of you again soon take care
Diana - psych, I can tell that you have a great sense of humor!! Happy "pay-a-complement Day"
Barb/2/NE - Thanks Dave for checking in!
Barb/2/NE - *Barb holding the door for our friend, Dave*
psych - Thank you Diana! I have actually been called "God" like!
Diana - barb, I have had to go outside our parish. Our priests are "too busy"
RO - On another subject... We are choosing new Social Studies book and are sending for samples now. Do anyof you ahve any feelings about any particular company?
Dave MontrealCan lol thanks Barb:) take care all
Diana - bye dave. Nice sharing with you
Barb/2/NE - wow, Diana, that's too bad that you had to go outside the parish, but the main thing is getting the kiddos some quality time with our Religious
Barb/2/NE - RO, sorry, I can't think of the company we use!
Diana - I figure it is the quality not the quantity, barb
psych - Actually I have been called "many" things!
Diana - RO, I don't teach SS so I'm not sure
Barb/2/NE - Diana, LOL, I was going to write that! I love that we have one Sister in our school
Diana - lol, psych
psych - Oh once I was called "Moses" at a middle school!
Barb/2/NE - psych, and tonight, you are being called, 'friend to Private and Parochial teachers!'
Diana - barb, it is sad that we have no sisters at our school. We used to but they got too old and retires to the mother house
Barb/2/NE - Did anyone read my post on holding hands during the Our Father?
Diana - barb, do share
Barb/2/NE - Diana, yes, we are very lucky to have her!
psych - Always something! The Kid who called me Moses I had brought to the office and we had a little chat! Of course at that time I sort of looked like moses LOL!!
Barb/2/NE - I think I was the minority on that
psych - The older Principal I spoke about is a Nun!
Barb/2/NE - The orginal questioner wanted the new kid to hold hands, like the other kids, during the Our Father
Diana - I was educated by nuns
Barb/2/NE - I don't care to force anyone to do anything that they are not comfortable with
RO - The gal who has subbed for me has a priest friend from a parish aabout 30 miles from us. he calls him when she is in my class and he has come to my class and my kids had a great itme with him. So now he comes to say hi and brings them cookies whenever she is in school. I got to meet him last week. I wish that more priests were more interested in the children. Ours is interested in the old parishoners.
psych - My wife was also up to 5th grade then they moved.
Barb/2/NE - RO, you are so lucky! Priests have to wear so many hats today. They have to be good at so many different jobs
Diana - RO, many people don't realize that children are not the future church--They ARE THE CHURCH right now!
Barb/2/NE - Diana, wow, that's quite a statement, I never thought of it that way! So true!
psych - Doing out marriage whatever we had on the college campus a really cool priest I always appreciated his kind approach.
RO - So true. Even if we can encourage our7 & 8 yr olds to become priests we won't see them on the altar for 20 years!
Diana - barb, I remind myself of that everytime I want to string one up to the lights in the classroom!
psych - The part of Mass I like is the Peace be with you part!
RO - There are not too many older men signing up..
Barb/2/NE - LOL, Diana!
Barb/2/NE - *Barb extending her hand to psych!* Peace be to you!
Barb/2/NE - and to Diana and RO!
Diana - psych, I became a Eucharistic Minister. So, my favorite part is distributing Jesus.
psych - There is going to be a shortage of Priests and Educators is the future!!
Diana - Peace be with all of you!
RO - and to Barb ...And also with you!
psych - Cool Diana! Peace be with you !  And to you also Barb !
Diana - RO With today's society and cultural ideas, priesthood is not very attractive.
psych - I need PEACE LOL!!!!!!!!!!
Barb/2/NE - Diana, today, at the special Mass for my kiddos, that had tons of questions about 'where does Jesus sleep after the Mass"
Diana - ha ha ha
RO - My best quesstion from my class is does God love the devil?
Diana - Aren't kids great!
psych - When I was little I wondered if he watcher you go to the bathroom!!!!!!!!
Barb/2/NE - Diana, being a Catholic or Christian is not very attractive to our consumer society. We have our work cut out for us in our schools!
Diana - We have God on our side. How can we lose?
psych - Aside from the Religion Barb, I see a society with very very poor values! This affect all of us and takes away from the progress students should be making in schools, ALL schools.
Barb/2/NE - Looks like the next group is ready to roll! Thanks guys for coming by!
