Bluette - hello fellow sub
Glenna - Hi! I guess I'm early for the meeting!
Glenna - So, do you chat much?
MREgg - I guess that we'll be the ones to get it going tonight.
Bluette - too much, but can't chat at school because we are blocked
Glenna - Sounds good. Are you a full-time sub?
MREgg - This is my second time. I don't usually have the time.
Bluette - I think I am, but actually I am on call and one school likes to keep me busy
MREgg - I sub pretty much full time. I'm in the middle of a long term assignment right now.
Glenna - Oh... I am an ex-administrator who wants to stay home with the family at this time! I sub at my daughter's school, that's about the only one that I go to. I really think that I was born to substitute!
Bluette - I am sometimes at my other job Mon. nights
Bluette - I enjoy this meeting
MREgg - Ssssshhh. I lot of people don't know how good a gig subbing really is.
Glenna - What grades do the two of you usually teach? I'm wondering if we are at the same level. I am K-6.
MREgg - I'll take 1-8, but prefer 6-8.
Bluette - I do all classes but am now in HS most of the time, I go to Elem for R&R
Glenna - Ditto, MREgg.
patsy - substitute teachers
Glenna - I enjoy the older ages, Kindergarten really slows me down... What do you teach, patsy?
Bluette - I enjoy the little ones although they wear me out
patsy - hi can I ask a question/
Glenna - Ha! Ha!
MREgg - Grade 6 is my favorite, although a day or two in third grade can really be fun.
Glenna - Go ahead, patsy.
MREgg - Ask away Patsy.
patsy - I just found out that the regular teacher calls out test grades to the whole class, is that ok?
Bluette - MS and HS is hard but you only have the classes for a short time
Bluette - then you repeat the lesson, have lots of planning periods
Glenna - I do not call out grades... Unless each student has a secret code, I would hate to embarrass the under average student.
Bluette - no, it is not okay, others should not know if one student does badly
patsy - that's what I thought I think it is just awful the teacher is new should I tell her when she comes back?
MREgg - I think that it's inappropriate to call out test grades like that. It's information that is personal to the student. There's a lawsuit about to be heard on this very issue before the US Supreme Court right now.
Bluette - a teacher today told who got a perfect grade, and that everyone passed
patsy - what is the name of the suit?
Glenna - It would be easy to tell this teacher if you had the case name to cite as an example!
MREgg - I don't remember, I'd have to look it up. It came out of Texas so it'll be in their Federal Appelate District.
Glenna - MREgg- tell us some of the details if you remember.
potionsmaster3 - Everyone in here subs?
Bluette - hello all
MREgg - Looks that way, Potionmaster.
Glenna - Yes, potionsmaster 3, I am a sub.
1-I'd Bubba - Soon to become my true "Stanley" once again!
Fiona - Hi, I've just started subbing about 8 weeks ago
Bluette - I luv 2 sub and I live 2 sub
1-I'd Bubba - I'm in my 6th yr of subbing. How about you, potion?
MREgg - I'd be a career sub if they'd pay me a real salary with benefits.
potionsmaster3 - I am too
MREgg - I'm in my fourth year.
potionsmaster3 - This is my first year subbing
Glenna - Me too. The hours are much better than my previous position!!!
Fiona - How often can you work as a sub, it seems to be very sporadic
potionsmaster3 - Did anyone get a job today?
1-I'd Bubba - Egg, I'm like you: But the $$ DO carry a big stick, don't they??
Bluette - Stanley: you will be so proud to hear that I am an unofficial building sub in a local MS HS
Glenna - Hi Fiona. My phone rings every morning.
patsy - does anyone know where I could get more info on the case about the test grades?
Fiona - Yes, I'm working today and tomorrow
MREgg - After a while you can work nearly every day. You just have to get known by the teachers as being dependable and competent.
Glenna - If the case appeared in the Texas Appellate Court, you could probably begin online with that info, patsy.
Fiona - Do you work at different schools or just one
potionsmaster3 - I am subbing on Wednesday, Thursday and FRIDAY!!!!!!!
Bluette - a friend I met subbing got a full time job as an Asst so I am getting her old jobs
patsy - thanks I'm off then!!
1-I'd Bubba - Way to go, Blue!Fiona, potion: Depending on where you are, it is certainly possible to work daily. I've averaged >200 days/yr for 6 yrs, with a high of 237!
patsy - logged off. --- (209.86.144.219 - Mon Dec 17 6:16pm)
MREgg - Money is definitely the issue, Bubba. I'm thinking of starting the push to organize in my district.
Glenna - I had to take tomorrow and Wednesday off because I am in an online computer course, and I have to complete the work!!!
Bluette - this is my second year subbing, and now I have to schedule a day off for myself
Glenna - Way to go, Bluette! What position will you have?
potionsmaster3 - Does anyone in here know any good sub websites?
1-I'd Bubba - Glenna, I actually took off a day last wk for much the same reason! Tomorrow I have cataract surgery, so I'll miss a few more...
Bluette - I am always asked to sub in one school but not hired on, just day to day
MREgg - This is my favorite sub website. What in particular are you looking for?
Glenna - No, potion, I have just started this online stuff. I would like to know that too!
Fiona - Are you all teachers
Glenna - Bubba, good luck with the surgery. How long will you be out?
potionsmaster3 - I know only 1
1-I'd Bubba - potion, I agree with Egg re Teachers.Net!!![]()
Glenna - Fiona, I am a 20 year teacher/administrator.
MREgg - We've got a youn'un sick at home so I'll probably be looking for a sub for the sub tomorrow.
Glenna - That happened to me last Friday! Our daughter had to go to the hospital!!!
potionsmaster3 - http://expage.com/just4teachers
Bluette - but it is a good -paying school, challenging kids
MREgg - Nothing serious I hope?
1-I'd Bubba - Blue, there's an OUTSIDE chance I could go back on Fri, though the jobs should be VERY scarce then. [Last day before Xmas break...]
potionsmaster3 - This site has a lot sites for subs
Bluette - there is a pop of 25% Native Amer.
Glenna - I left the room in a shambles. Thank goodness I know the teacher very well. What's wrong w/ your munchkin?
Glenna - No, MREgg, high fever, infection, lots of IVs and antibiotic.
MREgg - I found myself contemplating my own advice on assembling a good sub plan this afternoon. It's not easy.
Glenna - What kind of a plan are you considering?
MREgg - Sounds like my little one minus the IV.
Bluette - I don't want to be in school on Friday, the kids will be wild
potionsmaster3 - Who likes teachers editions?
Bluette - and the teachers are having cookie exchange, a luncheon, parties etc, and I am of course not included
Fiona - What are teachers editions
Glenna - Depends on the publisher, potion.
potionsmaster3 - Teachers Editions are answer keys and some resources and stuff
potionsmaster3 - they help me out
Glenna - With the older students, its interesting to go out on my own with the lesson and computers.
Fiona - OK I'm dumb I'm dumb, it makes sense to me now
Bluette - feel like I am the outsider even if I am there almost every day
MREgg - Tomorrows' a big test day. I'm teaching 6th grade math & science. The test should take pretty much both periods. I'll make sure that there's homework and mandatory SSR for those who finish early.
hedieann - Hi all!
Glenna - This will probably be a big test week!
1-I'd Bubba - Potion, *I* like TE's!Blue, I had some wired G-3s today, so I agree about Fri! However, a gig is a gig! :-*
Glenna - I would love to be working!
mabber - Glenna, what do you want to do?
potionsmaster3 - I HAVE A QUESTIONS TO THE SUBS WHO TEACH PERIIOD TO PEROD
Glenna - I live for the party days!!!
Glenna - Hey Bubba, teach me how to make the smiley face, please.
hedieann - I hear you Glenna, just got done student teaching and am broke
MREgg - It is for me Glenna, I want to finish Chapters in both subjects before Thursday. Friday will be a lost day.
Glenna - I do teach period to period, potion.
1-I'd Bubba - Glenna, you've been contracted but now sub?
potionsmaster3 - Is there a sub folder that they have Glenna?
hedieann - Do any of you sub for more than one school district?
Bluette - I will work the night before at the dept store til very late
Glenna - Not contracted in this state. We moved a year ago.
1-I'd Bubba - potion, period to period? You mean as in MS/HS?
mabber - You're right, mregg, Friday will be totally lost.
potionsmaster3 - yeah
mabber - hedieann, I do.
Glenna - Yes, potion, a thorough folder is available for the subs.
mabber - Sub more than one, I mean.
hedieann - how many days do you get mabber?
mabber - It depends, hed'n. I'm just starting out. No pattern yet.
mabber - It's starting to heat up now.
MREgg - hedieann, I used to, but only one for the past three years.
mabber - Have a SPED aide interview tomorrow.
hedieann - I will be starting in January and was wondering how do you work with two school districts
1-I'd Bubba - Glenna, I understand changing states can be dicey. Right now I'm seriously considering moving 100 mi north to Los Angeles.
Bluette - I sub in 4 districts but haven't been to all this year
Glenna - I am only one county.
mabber - Bluette, do you get called by all 4?
MREgg - First come first served. Early bird district gets the sub. Unless I knew that I'd hate the assignment.
mabber - hedieann, so far I like one district over another, but I might change my mind.
Bluette - mabber: have you ever done that before? I was there for 8th graders, push in today
Fiona - So far it seems like I'm only in one school!!!
Glenna - I am in WV, Bubba. My husband moves a lot. I left an administrative position, K-8, 720 students, in SC.
mabber - Done what, Bluette?
potionsmaster3 - Do we have to use the material in the sub folder ALL the time?
1-I'd Bubba - I'm like Blue, hedieann. With computerized gatekeepers it's no big deal whatsoever!
Bluette - they all call but 2 districts pay about 40% more than the others
mabber - I wish I had computerized.
Bluette - SPED aide, mabber
Glenna - No, potion, our sub folders do not contain activities, only pertinent info for the day/week: who goes to special classes, etc.
mabber - Bluette, I think school quality is more important than $$$ imho.
hedieann - I know the one district uses a computer, but the other pays like $105 a day!
Glenna - I agree, mabber.
potionsmaster3 - Mine (in the middle school) have sheets and stuff.
mabber - Bluette, I want to be a SPED teacher. I have been around sped students a little bit; also around regular kids that I thought should be classified as SPED.
potionsmaster3 - And the students get bored of it
1-I'd Bubba - [[[ Loops -- didn't want thesymbol!]]] {Mac's don't use the same emoticons as PC's!}
Fiona - Heidieann, where are you located. Our district only pays $65
Bluette - once a school gets to know you, it eliminates your availability to the others
mabber - Some principals are running really horrid schools.
Glenna - Oh. I can't type and read fast enough to keep up.
hedieann - Kent, Ohio. They pay $86 at the one district, and so far the cheapest is $65.
Glenna - Yes, Bluette, I am on a priority list at my daughter's school, and can pretty much work every day!
hedieann - that's for rural schools
MREgg - From what I've gathered teachers pretty much hate if don't at least try to teach what they left for you. Of course if it's just another Disney movie. I doubt that it matters.
1-I'd Bubba - Heidieann, $105/day vs. what?? And, does the other district use a human gatekeeper??
mabber - mregg, that's supposed to be the chief complaint of the regular teacher. Not following the plan.
Glenna - MREgg, I follow their requests. My goal is to always complete the plans, then do my own thing if there is time.
hedieann - I don't know the details yet. Going to sub in Akron and they use a computer, they pay $86
Fiona - At our district, each school principal has to call the sub.
mabber - Sometimes, though, you have to go off-plan if that's what makes sense to you at the time.
Bluette - hedieann, mine range from $50--72/ day
MREgg - I know that I'd be pretty ticked if my sub tomorrow doesn't give the test that I've left.
Glenna - Right, mabber. Have you ever been in a classroom where you couldn't find the plans???
hedieann - All I gotta say is I hope I can get a decent amount of days. What does anyone do on the side of subbing?
Glenna - I can just imagine, MREgg! I like to grade the work, too.
MREgg - Glenna that's my approach as well. I think that's all anyone expects.
mabber - Glenna, yes, my first day as a sub, there were NO plans.
1-I'd Bubba - Mabber, I agree with having to go off plan occasionally. However, I find that I often just can't fit it all in!
Bluette - the schools are very different, 3 dists are rural, one has 25% Native Amer. students, one is urban
Glenna - Yikes, mabber!!! Comments on what you did???
hedieann - Where are you from Bluette?
MREgg - Rat's Glenna, I didn't think to leave the answer key.
mabber - Bubba, recently an art teacher didn't leave enough work for them to do in K, so I had to do some shifting of assignments to keep those little hands busy!
Glenna - Ha.. Ha... I'll complete the key, too.
Bluette - I live in N Y State, near Syracuse and my p/t job is at a dept store
potionsmaster3 - Anyone in here new at subbing?
mabber - Glenna, I went to the reg teacher next door. He pulled an exercise from a workbook to get us through the first period. So, I just did workbook review for the other periods as well.
MREgg - Glenna, what's your number? No one's picked up the assignment yet.
Fiona - Yes, only 8 weeks
1-I'd Bubba - A secret to having plans: Get as many days as possible BOOKED AHEAD! [I've had less than 1% of my jobs without plans!!]
Glenna - I live for this job... I only wish that I wasn't so low on the seniority list to get a full-time job!
Glenna - mabber, at least that gave you time to regain your sanity, and develop a plan of action for the day.
mabber - potion, I'm pretty new.
hedieann - That's an interesting population of kids you work with. Going to work in a urban area as well. Do you like it Bluette?
MREgg - Bubba, I think you're right. Advanced bookings definitely help.
Bluette - I like them all, so different
mabber - Bubba, I have a handbook that has exercises in it. Trouble is, the school I frequent doesn't let you run off a lot of copies at one time.
Glenna - In the school that I am in, we need a code to use the copier. They count the number of copies each teacher makes!!!
hedieann - I did a field experience at an urban school and loved it
mabber - Glenna, I use free periods and lunch to figure out lesson plans as much as I possibly can.
mabber - Same here, Glenna.
1-I'd Bubba - Egg, I at least feel that's it. When there are no plans I'd say it is virtually **ALWAYS** because the absence was unexpected.
Bluette - we Teachers learn a lot from the students, different cultures
hedieann - I work at a dept. store now for the Holidays and I love it too.
Glenna - mabber, I do too. I check out the planning times, then organize from block to block, I know if I can make it through to lunch, I can get the remainder of the day planned!
mabber - You have to keep the students busy. Once they get bored, you start running into big time discipline problems.
Bluette - where do you live hedieann
1-I'd Bubba - mabber, You just hit upon what I feel to be a problem with "Sub Bags:" How do you resupply them???
hedieann - Kent, Ohio
mabber - Yes, Glenna, the mornings are the hardest, although my final period recently with a K group wasn't exactly a piece of cake.
MREgg - There was a new sub on the board today. Mentioned that he just accepted his first assignment. Three days starting Wednesday and they told him no plans. I feel sorry for him. No way to start your first day of work.
Glenna - I have to laugh, mabber. I had K last Wednesday. What a challenge!!! I had only been in 4-6 up until then. They kept me going! I did have an aid, a wonderful person, who was great.
hedieann - It would be really cool if I could land a permanent subbing position, but I know not to expect that for a couple of months
Bluette - I work at Kaufmann's, a May Co store
mabber - Bubba, I just have 20 copies of one exercise that I carry around, suitable for 2-6. When I have to use those, I'll have them, then will copy more that same day. For emergency use only.
mabber - Glenna, I find the worst grades are k and 5.
hedieann - So do I Bluette!! Folding and fluffing, stock replenishment
Glenna - That's a good idea, mabber. Always good to be prepared.
mabber - Although I was para at K today and they were wonderful.
Fiona - I'll let you know I have 5 tomorrow
1-I'd Bubba - Mabber, I once had a site chew me out because a made ONE copy! [Needless to say, that was a lousy site, & I filed their "anal" attitude away for future reference!]
mabber - A lot depends on the discipline from the regular teacher.
potionsmaster3 - I'm a new sub
mabber - Bubba, I'd stay away from there if I could possibly do so.
Glenna - Good going, Bubba!
Bluette - great discount, my whole wardrobe is from K's, been there 4 Christmases now, hope this is the last season, had enough of midnight hours
Glenna - How cheap can a school be???
Fiona - Potionmaster how long have you been subbing
mabber - I'm going to get a little fussier in what I accept. Of course, if I get this aide job, I won't be subbing anymore.
potionsmaster3 - I've been subbing only for 2 weeks
MREgg - I'm fortunate, all of my sites let me make a reasonable number of copies.
Fiona - potionmaster have you had a lot of jobs
hedieann - Been putting in a lot of evenings myself. Wished I wasn't so broke I know I would have a new wardrobe!
mabber - Glenna, they say they are low on toner. I think the truth is that they want to discourage using the copier for personal use.
Glenna - Me, too, I have the office code for the copier, plus there are children of teachers in almost every class at the school where I work, they know their mom's codes!
mabber - potion, same here, I started the day after George Harrison died.
1-I'd Bubba - Mabber, but how far will that 1 exercise get you? I prefer packing read alouds which can lead to writing prompts, a nature video, & my trusty math/logics game. [No materials needed for the last one.]
Bluette - I put some things on the delayed payment for Feb, that's how I got my fall clothes
MREgg - Mabber making materials for the benefit of their students isn't personal use.
Glenna - I take the tinker toys. I have a great activity with tinker toys that older students enjoy.
hedieann - What types of materials do you all bring with you to sub?
mabber - bubba, this is just enough to get me thru one period; then I can copy more stuff later.
hedieann - Is that like layaway Bluette?
mabber - hedieann, I use a handbook from Utah State University.
Glenna - It's really a directions-giving game. Two students sit back to back. Give the students the same pieces of tinker toys. Have one build, and then explain to the other what they built.
1-I'd Bubba - Glenna, that was a VERY messed up site. I stayed away from there for several yrs, & when I returned it was totally different. [New administrators, etc.]
MREgg - I've often found that the codes aren't too hard to break anyway. They're usually something like 1234 or 1111.
Fiona - Is there a website that can give me work ideas for k-5
hedieann - what does your handbook have in it mabber?
potionsmaster3 - I'm turning in 4 the night
Glenna - I'll try that... I think that they are the last four digits of teachers' social security numbers.
potionsmaster3 - Goodnight
Bluette - not layaway, you get the goods now with no interest to pay and don't get the bill til Jan
potionsmaster3 - bye
Glenna - I need to close, too.
hedieann - that sounds like a good deal
MREgg - The teachers may have their own codes, but there is usually some sort of all purpose code that works.
mabber - hedieann, it has short exercises to kill just a few minutes. It also has more involved things to kill a whole period. Different subjects, different grades. The book also discusses what to do re: classroom management, etc.
Glenna - It has been nice chatting with you all.
1-I'd Bubba - mabber, I have BOTH books from Utah State, & they're GREAT values. [I learned of them @ our County's voluntary sub training where Geoff Smith, of Utah State, spoke.]
potionsmaster3 - I got my clothes ready, just incase
Bluette - I have a big bag, joke book, word search book to make copies, stickers, pencils, erasers to give away
potionsmaster3 - bye
mabber - bye Glenna.
Glenna - Bye.
mabber - Those are the ones, Bubba.
hedieann - can anyone get the book mabber?
mabber - Bubba, I have both secondary and elementary.
Fiona - mabber, can I order the books from Utah State and if so what are the titles
Bluette - gotta get some rest now. I gave blood today at school. feeling tired. so g'night all
mabber - One idea for names: make headbands and have them wear them on their heads at all times. Works better than a seating plan for the lower grades.
mabber - bye bluette
hedieann - bye Blue
MREgg - I feel like I give blood everyday
Bluette - Stanley--good lick and keep posting, I now read the posts at school!!!
mabber - fiona, I got this from amazon.com. do a search there. you'll find them. Called Substitute Teacher handbook.
1-I'd Bubba - Fiona & hedieann, I'll try to post something about the books on the board! I can at least give you the ISBN #'s, & I'll see about a URL for the program.
Bluette - I mean good luck--am I getting punchy?
hedieann - thanks Bubba
mabber - Call Utah State at 800/922-4693 if you want to.
1-I'd Bubba - Blue... you DID have me guessin' with THAT typo!
Fiona - Mabber & Bubba, thanks for all your help
hedieann - thanks mabber
1-I'd Bubba - Mabber, now THAT'S a way to go! [I forgot about their 1-800 #!]
mabber - Bubba, I just read it off the handbook in front of me.
mabber - bye, fiaona.
mabber - fiona!
hedieann - I've gotta finish cleaning, night all! Have a Happy Holiday!!
1-I'd Bubba - mabber, I THINK mine are out in my car. [As good as they are, I find I never really use them...]
MREgg - Time for dinner. Catch y'all later.
1-I'd Bubba - Take care, hedieann! BEST of luck on the jobs!!
1-I'd Bubba - Don't eat a tort for dinner, Egg!
1-I'd Bubba - [For the rest of you, I believe MREgg is also an attorney...]
Fiona - Sorry about that but had to log off quickly
1-I'd Bubba - OMG! Did you switch time zones, Magoo?!?
Magoo - I wish I could remember that there is a 3-hour time diff between where I am and when this chat starts!
Magoo - No, it's just that the chat starts at 9, which is 6 out here, and I keep forgetting that..........."If I only had a brain...."
1-I'd Bubba - That reminds me... is it awful or what when the clocks in rooms are off?!?
Magoo - so, one-eye, tomorrow is The Day???
Fiona - How often does this chat room meet
Magoo - oh, I just HATE it when room clocks are off!! The other day, the room I was in, BOTH clocks were off by 3-4 minutes, and they didn't match each other, either. Late for recess, early for lunch, blah, blah, blah.
1-I'd Bubba - Magoo, an old roommate used to say, "If I had a brain I'd take it out & play with it!"
Magoo - Fiona, once a month.....the 3rd Monday evening.....at 9 pm EASTERN, which I can never remember translates into 6 PM PACIFIC, and I am usually quite late.
1-I'd Bubba - Fiona, it's one Mon/month. Magoo or I usually post a reminder on the SubBoard.
Magoo - hee hee hee, S, if I had a brain, I'd be dangerous!!
steph - Hi all!
Fiona - hi Steph
Magoo - Not working at all this week....told the sub caller to leave me alone, I have Things To Do around the house......feels GREAT to have time that I can count on, instead of waiting till 7 am to decide whether or not I have my day.
steph - Stanley, good luck with the surgery!
1-I'd Bubba - Greetings, steph! Didn't mean to ignore ya'! :-/
Magoo - Fiona, Steph, where do you sub?? I'm in SE Washington.
steph - I'm in Phoenix, AZ
steph - Magoo, I'm from Seattle, though!
1-I'd Bubba - Thanks, steph! I can't eat for OVER 13 hrs before, so THAT should be a trip!
Fiona - I'm in Virginia, near Pettersburg
Magoo - My Darling Daughter and Her Hubby live in Auburn; we're flying there for Christmas.
steph - Well, the weather is MUCH better here right now!
Magoo - Oh, Stanley, how mean of them!! Can you at least have water or juice or 7-Up or something?? (...a little elderberry wine, my dear?...")
Magoo - Stanley, if your tummy rumbles loudly, remind them that it's THEIR fault.
1-I'd Bubba - steph, has it been on the cold side there also? [San Diego has been QUITE brisk.. erm, for US!
steph - Yes, it has been cold and we even had rain the other day. Today was still cold, but at least sunny!
1-I'd Bubba - Clear liquids are OK... :-[
Magoo - well, there goes the phone, and it's Darling Daughter, so I must leave..............will try to remember to get here on time next month!! Stanley, (((HUGS))) and good wishes for you tomorrow!!
Fiona - I guess I'd better log off now as I am working tomorrow. Bye and I will definitely log in next time
steph - Can you believe we even had to have rainy day recess last week?!!
1-I'd Bubba - Actually, I think that's are the liquids!!
steph - Stanley, have you been working a lot?
1-I'd Bubba - Thanks for dropping by, Fiona! TAKE CARE!
steph - bye, Fiona
steph - How do you make the little smiley faces?
1-I'd Bubba - I've been fine, steph. Had to work on a course last Thurs, & I got too picky the Tues & Wed before T-Day, but otherwise it's been GREAT! How about YOU??
steph - I've been doing a long term 3rd grade assignment since Oct. 23. This is my last week and I'm sure going to miss those kids!
1-I'd Bubba - steph, 1st, are you on a Mac or PC?
steph - All Mac all the time!
1-I'd Bubba - KUDOS on the G-3 job![When I talk with Los Angeles, I intend to tell them it's G-3 or "nada!" 8-)
1-I'd Bubba - Too the left of this moving grid there are some logos. Let me check to see which 1 it is to tell you how!
1-I'd Bubba - OK, it's the ? button, if you can see that.
1-I'd Bubba - The problem, steph, is that MANY of them don't work for Mac's. [I've an EARYL Power PC which I've upgraded with a G-3 card, additional drives, & maxed memory.]
1-I'd Bubba - steph... are you still there???
steph - Okay, let me try it....
steph - Sorry got sidetracked for a minute!
1-I'd Bubba - There you go... |-o is a doozer, don't ya' think?
1-I'd Bubba - See, the |-o doesn't produce ANYTHING on a Mac!
steph - logged on. --- (216.190.249.135 - Mon Dec 17 7:23pm)
1-I'd Bubba - :-$ , I'll bet, is probably dead too...
steph - Obviously I did something wrong and ended up somewhere else!
steph - So I thought I'd change my font color while I was at it....
1-I'd Bubba - What you're looking for says "Emoticons" & is @ the bottom of a page.
steph - No, I found it and then pushed the back button instead of return to chat....and ended up in the twilight zone.
1-I'd Bubba - Oooop, didn't mean that LAST emoticon.
steph - So, any luck with the job search for a permanent position?
1-I'd Bubba - Several Sats ago there was a TNet get together here in San Diego. I didn't go due to a cold. However, had I gone, I was going to ask Bob
steph - Well, good talking to you and good luck! I'll be sending positive vibes your way for the surgery! Have to go let the dog out!
1-I'd Bubba - ...Reap for a Mac version of the Emoticon codes. As for the job... I need to see if I can get my materials off to L.A. this wk. Also, I'm going to teach 2 wks of intercession in early Jan, & that's @ contracted rates!
1-I'd Bubba - Once again, my KUDOS on the longterm!
steph - Thanks, it's definitely been a learning experience! It sure confirms that teaching is what I want to do!
1-I'd Bubba - SUPER! BTW, how much extra are you earning for the extra work??
steph - After 21 days, I get an extra $20 a day, so it goes up to $100.00 a day. However, it is a lot of extra work!!
steph - Talk to you soon!
1-I'd Bubba - Yup, long terms are a BONANZA -- for the DISTRICTS! That's why I'm so happy about the 10 days of intercession: Should be @ about $190/day, vis-a-vis $114 for day to day subbing!
1-I'd Bubba - Enjoy the vacation, ya' hear?
steph - Hey, you too....and take care of yourself!! Goodnight!
1-I'd Bubba - Going, going...
