Hi Tammy!
I've ordered several times from Amazon.com. I was impressed
with the speed with which I received my purchase as well as
the prices. I have had no difficulty with my credit card.
To me it's as safe as giving your card to a total stranger in
a restaurant who disappears with it for a while...

I am apprehensive too, and took another option. I put in just
the last four digits of my credit card no., which is just the
bank no. Then, I called them. I did this twice, and now, I
don't have to call them anymore. I can automatically order
books. I've done it several times It is a great service...the
books come quickly, and there is only a slight shipping charge
considering that I don't have to pay tax and the books are
discounted to start with. It does pay to order more than one
book, though. I love it! Corinne

I agree with Nelda----I love the prices and how quickly I
receive my amazon.com orders. Although I had the same fears
about shopping over the internet, I've had no problems with my
credit card, and now don't even give it a second
thought....(which IS a problem, since I have to pay the bill!!

Hi Tammy,
It is safe, I think, and it is easy and convenient. One thing
it is not is cheap. I can find hard cover best sellers for a
much lower price at the large chain stores in my area. For
example, I paid $24 at Amazon for A Pirate Looks at Fifty the
best seller by Jimmy Buffett. A week later, I saw the book at
Price Club and Best Buy for $12.96 and $14.00. So keep that
in mind. The selection is awesome and I have purchased books
that are hard to find there. And they come in three days!!

Yes, I have, too. I've ordered from Amazon & from several
other places. I have had no problems whatsoever. I've only
ordered from places that have "secured" ordering sites.

called them on the phone to give my credit card number. The
books arrived so fast too. Go ahead ,it's safe but I'm glad

I have purchased from them and they are GREAT! My latest
purchase was "The First Days of School," which I purchased for
less than I could have in Atlanta, even including the shipping
charges. I received the book 42 hours after I ordered it.
You cannot beat that, anywhere. My recommendation is "go for
it!"

I have bought several books from Amazon.com. The site where you
will enter your credit card is encrypted. Which means it is a
secure area. I get the books within 2 days and I don't have to
wonder around looking for what I want. It is an awesome way to
shop!

joan/1/NY - The mailman brought Month by Month while I was leaving for the beach and I brought it and read SEPTEMBER at the beach!!
Georgia - Hey, for books you can't get locally, go to amazon.com and order on line--they deliver books right to your home! I got Phonics They Use that way.
Tena/1/ar - Georgia, I was a little scared of using my credit card over the internet.
Kathleen - I'll see if I can get some links up to Amazon for those books..that way Teachers.Net makes a little bit (at no extra cost to you) :-)
joan/1/NY - Oh TENA, I ordered from Amazon.com with a credit card and it was great to have them delivered right to my door.
Tena/1/ar - I have been so close to ordering but then I think of how many computer guru's could steal my credit card number...
joan/1/NY - Tena, I have heard that ordering on line was safer than ordering over the phone

Georgia - Tena, anything is possible, but you just have to take some risks. Remember, you are only responsible for $50 over what you order if some yutzberger swipes your number. To know is better than not know--knowledge is power, and all of that.

Tena/1/ar - I have gone as far as putting them in my shopping cart, but couldn't go any farther, I'm going to go for it, tho:)
Kathleen - TEna, I used to be afraid of internet ordering, but think about it...it can't be worse than phone ordering, or letting a waiter take your card. Now that's the way I get all of my books...it's very convenient and I'm convinced it's safe enough for me.
Tena/1/ar - Okay, ya'll have talked me into it. I'm going to order them right now.....how long did it take for them to be delivered?
LW - Tena, I order over the internet now and haven't had any trouble either.
Kathleen - Hey!! I just realized..the Cunningham books are at the beginning of the transcript of her session...You click on "Archive" over in the left frame, then on "Pat Cunningham", then you will see her books listed..each is a link for ordering. You can order before or after the meeting..the transcript is there to stay. And it will help Teachers.net a bit..as I said, at no extra cost to you.
