That's only part of it. The kicker is you have to work in
SS-covered employment and make SUBSTANTIAL earnings to not
be affected by the offsets. I live in Oregon now, and just
five years in Nevada PERS means I am affected by the WEP.
I have some 32 years in working, but I only have 19 years
in "substantial earnings."
Earning SS and getting a pension are not "double dipping."
