Good luck to him, Sunset/D. I think this must be one of the most painful and debilitating injuries, poor guy! My Dad broke (the doctor described them as "smashed") both heels when he fell from a work platform. He had a long and painful recovery period. A lot of people - us included - had never heard of broken heels before, as many probably haven't heard of broken elbows. Keep us posted about his progress.
