The Nashville areas newest film school, the Nashville Film
Institute, is hosting an open house at their
state-of-the-art facility in the Factory in Franklin from
11-4 PM on June 6. Prospective students, friends and family
will be able to meet and talk to NFI faculty about the
curriculum, explore the unique learning space, and connect
with a variety of local filmmakers. There will also be a
live performance and video demonstration by local singer
songwriter Danielle Peck at 2 PM. Refreshments will be served.

The coursework at the Nashville Film Institute covers the
following areas:
* Video production
* Screenwriting
* Visual communications digital imaging
* Sound production
* Film history
* Budgeting business planning
* Editing
* Independent filmmaking
The tuition is $18K and includes a MacBook Pro laptop with
Final Cut Pro and Avid Media Composer installed. The tuition
also comes with a pass to the annual Sundance Film Festival
in Park City, Utah.
The school is actually located in Franklin, Tennessee, just
outside of Nashville. It is housed in The Factory at
Franklin, a renovated factory that houses art galleries,
restaurants, and many other creative businesses. The first
classes begin on July 6th.
