The Online Microprogram in French Foreign Language: language and cultures consists of 4 courses worth 3 credits each, for a total of 12 credits. It is designed for Francophiles who want to master the basics of the French language and learn about French Culture in North America. The learning objectives of the microprogram are to gain an understanding of the basic fundamentals of French and to discover and learn about the various French communities and cultures in North America. The 4 courses are: • FLE-1700 Introduction to French • FLE-2700 French as a foreign language 2 • FLE-3700French as a foreign language 3 • FLE-3218 French Cultures in North America A connection to the Internet is required to take these online courses. Students will first take an online placement test to determine whether they should register for the beginner, intermediate or advanced courses. It is recommended that students desiring to take the French Cultures in North America Class have an intermediate to advanced knowledge of French. Each course last 15 weeks and is offered in both the Autumn and Winter Semesters. The courses and learning evaluation activities are completely online, except for the final exam which takes place at a physical location near you. All credits earned through this program are transferable to other French Learning programs offered by L'ELUL.
