USMLE Step 3 is a mandatory exam that needs to be passed in
order to get a license to practice as a physician in the
United States. Yearly, thousands of medical graduates and
students take these exams world-wide. USMLE Step 3 tests on
general concepts that are required to understand and
practice concepts of general medicine and family medicine.
Usually, most examinees are comfortable preparing for this
exam on their own.
However, some may need additional help especially because
they may be training in medical specialties that do not
deal with family medicine. Such examinees often take review
courses to help them prepare for this exam. Several courses
are available in the market for USMLE step3 but most of
these reviews require a student to attend their live
courses in person there by, increasing the cost involved
and decreasing the time-efficiency.
In the year 2008, USMLE Galaxy introduced unique web-based
live reviews in the form of online live webinars. The
introduction of these courses made it possible for the
students to access a live review from anywhere in the world
at a very minimum price. USMLE Galaxy introduced Dr.Red CCS
Workshop in June 2008 and in the past one year, has trained
at least 3000 students. Now, Dr.Red CCS Workshop ( Archer
CCS Workshop) is considered as a must do for USMLE Step 3
test takers to pass this exam with ease. In December 2008,
USMLEGalaxy introduced Archer Rapid Review for USMLE Step 3
which is now attended by at least 80 students every month.
This is considered by students as another unique milestone
in the delivery of live reviews. Students could access
these 3 day live reviews and could interact with
experienced board-certified teaching physicians right from
their home for a bare minimum price. Since this is a
webcast, no travel costs are involved. With an intention to
meet the growing demand and to make the step 3 courses more
accessible and affordable to students, USMLE Galaxy
launched a new blog based teaching by launching their own
blogs ( www.usmle3.com and www.usmlegalaxy.wordpress.com)
However, USMLE Galaxy was not able to meet the growing
demand for these lectures since it is very hard to find
excellent teaching physicians who taught these concepts
with great expertise and ease.
In order to address this limitation, USMLE Galaxy is now
introducing streaming video lectures from the same teaching
physicians who teach the popular Archer Rapid Review. These
streaming lectures are available via. Pay-Per-View option
and come at a cheaper price than the live online review.
Archer review offers USMLE Step 3 review, Step 3 CCS
Workshop ( Dr.Red CCS Workshop), Live Lectures, USMLE Step
2 review and USMLE Step 1 courses that are done online in a
live webinar format making education interactive,
inexpensive and effortless. Over the past one year, Archer
Review has trained about 3000 Step 3 students through these
unique online live lectures and CCS workshop. Out of the
600 people who wrote back to us, only 12 people failed.
This translates in to 98% success rate and is much higher
than the national average. Our student population includes
55% International medical graduates and 45% American
medical graduates.
The national average statistics for USMLE Step 3 pass rates
have traditionally been 94% for US Medical graduates and
71% for International Medical graduates. We take pride in
narrowing this difference and also further increasing the
pass rates among our students to 98%. As our reviews
increased the success rates, there has been a sudden
upsurge in the demand for the lectures which can not be met
with the live lectures alone. So, we are now introducing
Pay-Per-View option for those who missed out on the live
reviews, for those who find live reviews exhausting, for
the residents with busy schedules and for those who have
exam prior to the live review dates.
Pay-Per-View enables students to watch the streaming video
lectures for USMLE step 3 at their own convenience. These
recordings are exactly similar to the live webinar review
in that a student can see the powerpoint presentation
running on their desktop screen while they also listen to
the instructor's audio. Through this Pay-Per-View system,
we hope to increase the availability of USMLE Step 3 video
lectures and to reduce the costs involved even further.
