Despite the efforts of dedicated and talented teachers
many children today are still left behind. Children who
have failed again and again often give up, thinking they
are incapable of doing well in school. Poor cognitive
skills are often the reason. Fortunately, cognitive skills
can be developed and enhanced through cognitive training;
students can advance 2 years or more in only few weeks of
intense training. Processing speed, concentration,
visualization, visual memory, long and short-term memory,
and attention span are only some of the areas of cognitive
development that can be improved and developed by
cognitive training. These fast paced intense sessions,
coupled with one-on-one interaction from a dedicated and
concerned teacher or parent, can change the direction of a
child's life forever.
This program is not a quick fix. It requires work and
dedication from the teacher or parent and from the
student, but the results are remarkable! As a Cognitive
therapist I have done administered this program in our
home with scores of students of all ages, with remarkable
results! Parents and teachers have told us their
children’s attitude toward school had dramatically
changed. The children’s confidence level and grades had
gone from despair and failing, to confidence with A’s and
B’s on their report cards. We welcome testing at the
school level; because the improvement is so remarkable
after only a few weeks of training!
The Left-Behind kit is a one-on-one experience and
requires preparation from the teacher or parent. The
Getting Started Manual is user friendly and easy to
understand. Any child who knows the numbers 1-10 and most
of the alaphabet can participate.
The program also works well with children who have
Dyslexia, ADD, ADHD and other learning disabilities.
Cognitive therapists charge as much as $70.00 a session
and are hard to locate in most areas. Because of time and
schedule we were not able to see all the children that
