This thirty-page resource for teaching Dicken's classic
tale of redemption begins with a series of objective tests
(chapter-by-chapter and whole book)for checking FACTUAL
comprehension. Tese quizzes DO NOT REQUIRE STORY
INTERPRETATION. Rather, they motivate students to practice
thoughtful reading and build a solid foundation for
progression to the higher-level thinking skills. These
versatile pages are useful for individual, small group, or
whole class instruction and as homework. They provide an
excellent MANAGEMENT TOOL for teachers wishing to use
multiple novel titles in one classroom.
The second component of this teaching pack is thirty-seven
open-ended Writing and Thinking Prompts, based on Bloom's
Taxonomy, that target interpretive skills, application,
speculation, elements of literature, etc. More detailed
rationale and teaching suggestions are available with the
unit.
