Dear parents,
My name is Todd Blechner. I would like to offer my in-home
tutoring services to you and your children. I live in West
Newton, making me centrally located within the Metro West
area of Boston. I have been a teacher for the last decade,
and my experiences have been quite varied. I specialize in
both Elementary and Middle school students, in the subjects
of Math, Language Arts, Science, and the Humanities. I'm a
firm believer in integrating Life Skills into each session
as well.
The first exposure to education that I had was when I
helped pioneer and found the middle school branch of a new
charter school in Lake Tahoe, CA. Overall, this was a most
rewarding initiation into the field of education. I have
also had the pleasurable challenge of living on a minute
Pacific island for three years teaching the local student
population. The wide range of Asian and Pacific Islander
cultures in the community, as well as the low
socio-economic backgrounds of the locals, added to the
existing inherent challenges that come along with teaching.
Currently, I am working for the Cambridge Public School
System.
Over the years, I have realized the gigantic positive
difference in results when teaching is performed one-to-one
with a student. Feedback is instant, making the job of the
teacher easier when having to respond to each student's
needs, in turn making each session more successful and
gratifying. In-home tutoring gives each students the
security of being in a safe haven, while minimizing the
distractions that exist outside the home.
I offer tutoring services year round. Time slots for the
summer are still available. Help your child get a jump on
