Teachers Can Obtain their Master of Education Degree Without Leaving Home

Marion, IN - Indiana Wesleyan University is pleased to announce that they are offering their nationally recognized Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in an online format. The Online M.Ed. program is designed for practicing teachers who want to obtain an advanced degree and further develop their teaching skills.

The focus of the Online M.Ed. program is on effective teaching strategies. The emphasis in the virtual classroom is placed on a "Theory to Practice" model. All of the courses are designed to provide teachers with methods and materials they can use in their classroom.

A small group of students will complete the online program as a "learning team" by taking one course at a time together. Throughout the week, each student will interact online with fellow classmates and professors, allowing for group learning.

"We have offered a traditional classroom-based M.Ed. program in the state of Indiana since 1993," says Bryan Burgett, Online M.Ed. Program Representative, "Now with the Internet, we can offer this outstanding program to teachers throughout the United States and world".

Indiana Wesleyan University is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), 2010 Massachusetts Ave., NW, Suite 500, Washington, DC 20036; phone (202) 466-7496. This accreditation covers initial teacher preparation programs and advanced educator preparation programs. IWU is also accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (30 N.
