Post: The Disrespecting of Social Studies
Posted by Kmt on 4/29/08
I agree 100%. I find that more and more this perspective on Social Studies classes is true. I also believe that this thought will undermine the goal of the founding fathers of this great nation. There is no longer a push for pride in the nation's history or governmental process. George Bush did mention in a speech that civics is important for the benefit of our nation. This is where the help stopped. Many times I look at the way our nation is headed and I wonder if more emphasis on civics, government and history would not have kept us out of some of the problems we are facing as a nation.
