Post: Hans Brinker
Posted by Conny Jensen on 4/19/08
Hans Brinker is not a Dutch Children's story at all, let alone famous! As a native from The Netherlands it wasn't until I met some Americans that I learned about the story of Hans Brinker from the book by American writer Mary Mapes Dodge. However, at some point a statue of Hans Bribkers was put in the small town of Spaarndam near Haarlem and 10 years ago I did go see it for the first time. See: http://www.thehollandring.com/hans-brinker-story.shtml and for a more modern representation: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hans_Brinker
