I love, love, love Todd R. Nelson's take on educating students!!! I have taught for 28 years for seven different principals (all except one in Florida). Every principal I have ever worked "under" has been obsessed with test scores (probably because the superintendents, school boards, governors, etc. of the states in which I taught were obsessed with the same). I hope Mr. Nelsons does speaking engagements with principals as audiences. Is it possible they could be inspired? I have my doubts. The ones I have worked for are too far gone to think this kind of creative nonsense has any "real" value! Besides, the activities he describes in the article are not listed in the Sunshine State Standards! Tsk! Tsk! Tsk!
