Post: Thanks for a timely article
Posted by Addie/mo on 6/01/08
Hi Leah, I wanted to say thanks for a timely article. The area where I previously lived, Seneca, MO, was hit hard with a tornado last month. Several people I know lost everything: their houses demolished like shredded wheat and their possessions scattered for miles. We went to graduation there for a friend's son and drove through the devastation. All I can say is that seeing a disaster on TV does not truly do the situation justice. I had never experienced anything like it before. It was disorienting to be in a place that should have been very familiar, but with all landmarks demolished. How much more intense and confusing this would be if it was your house and your stuff. Anyway, so many communities have been devastated this spring with tornadoes. A lot of children, families and schools are having to find ways to deal with the loss.
