Post: test prep article by Alan Haskvitz

Yes, I know just what this teacher is talking about. I
got into the teaching profession when my youngest was
entering 8th grade. I had always wanted to be a teacher.
Then NCLB hit. There is no joy left in teaching. There
are too many strangers walking down the hallways peering
into classrooms, grade level meetings, deadlines ("this
was due yesterday, we just found out about it, so drop
whatever it is you are doing...") benchmark tests, etc,
etc, etc...-- Gee, Toto, a land where teachers can
actually teach..do you suppose there is such a place??????
