I've been retired for a year. I do not miss grading
compositions, the new and boring test-oriented curriculum,
the lack of air conditioning in my classroom, and getting
up at 5:30 am.
I do miss my teacher friends, the challenge of something
new every day, and the amazing middle school kids.
