Re: You don't know which ones will make it
Posted by Debbie Ann on 6/10/09
IN my opinion, we need to encourage students to reach for the stars. IN my classroom, we write about personal goals and part of the assignment includes 1) what is you goal, 2) what steps do you need to take to reach this goal, 3) what traits or talents do you possess that will help you reach this goal and finally 4) who do you think can help you along the way to reaching you goal. Students are usually pretty realistic and even those goals that may seem too lofty give students a purpose and motivation to work towards its achievement. Certainly goals can and do change so why not encourage students to reach for the stars now.
