Post: One of the single most frustrating things a principal did
Posted by Donna music/TN on 3/25/08
Was to put my lunch at 1:00, after everyone else had already had theirs. Since specialists were the ones who provided planning, no one had planning then, either. So, while music, art, PE, and library could eat and collaborate together, that was it. What it meant was that, for the last two years I taught in that school, I never had any downtime with grade level teachers. It was either that we taught in our separate rooms, seeing each other only when they dropped off or picked up their kids, or we were at a meeting or workshop. The schedule I liked the best, even though it was a little annoying, was one where my lunch period moved, so I had 1-2 days a week with each grade level cluster, because then I DID feel like I knew everyone, and could talk to them more easily.
