Post: What Writing Isn't
Posted by RWM on 3/09/08
I enjoyed this article and Ms.Sigmon expresses my philosophy of writing much better than I ever could. I have always felt that "voice" in my student's writing is the most difficult to teach. But it can be frustrating to explain to parents of students how valuable it is when their children express their voices in writing when parents are so concerned about spelling and conventions. Reading the writing of students who are creative like Ms.Sigmon's daughter is such a pleasure and it would be wonderful for more teachers to agree. I think I'll keep this article to share.
