| Somewhere in this country a drive-by was avoided, a robbery was reconsidered, or a suicide attempt was abandoned because a teacher was willing to show up and make a difference in the classroom, administrative office, after school activity, or at the home of a child. |

These > are crazy times! > Sue You teach Sue, because you are AWESOME at it.....I laughed when I read your post because my son was in your first Kindergarten class....and I was taken RIGHT BACK there when I read your post....those early days of a new school and the "tricks" that the auto lighting can do to a 5 year old in the bathroom LOL (you know the story).....you can't make it up. I know I was part of that apple decor you speak of....a lovely Xmas tree ornament I remember....and what YOU learned from me???? Don't send glitter home in backpacks. That hurdle was faced when you gave me the group doing "Giant, Green, Gold, Glittered" letter G's, while helping in the classroom....ah yes, still pulling glitter from all orafices (sp?)...LOL. Seriously, Sue Gruber is one of "those" teachers who truly LOVES their job, loves life and is someone I think of often when I look at my soon to be a Sr. in HS son with a 4.5 GPA....and thank my lucky stars for those teachers, like Sue, who were there at the launching pad. Thank you Sue! And God bless you and those like you that will continue to teach, even when it isn't the "easy" path and you have to jump the CA hurdles.
