Post: Great Common Sense
Posted by Bettye Davies on 11/15/08
Bill's remarkable "common sense" is too uncommon in our school. I am using his four step suggestion both in my classroom and at home. Already I have noticed a big difference when I think to myself ("describe") how the behavior I see relates TO ME. I am getting better at changing what I do, before giving in to the urge to say, "It's because the kid is (fill in your favorite label here)." I still look for new ideas FOR ME, rather than for the kids.
