Teachers! I Accuse You of Cowardice!

By Robert Rose • Sep 1st, 2010

The following will get some of you angry, defensive, but most will at least silently admit that I’m right. However, you will continue to believe that you’re helpless against the politicians of both parties who are equally cowardly. This belief is self-fulfilling – and crippling!

MERIT PAY PROPOSAL – A Practical, Achievable Solution

By Robert Rose • Jun 1st, 2010

Most teachers would be glad to see the schools get rid of the few who
make a mockery of teaching. Few teachers would object to yearly
evaluations like I’ll suggest because they are clear, verifiable, have
a built in opportunity to improve or change, and are not based just on

Totally impossible to do hour after hour, day after day.

Children in Pain!

By Robert Rose • Feb 1st, 2010

“Don’t touch me you white M…F…!”

I wouldn’t be normal if his anger didn’t hurt me. I had the legal power (1965) to paddle or suspend him, but I didn’t. I didn’t even have this concept clearly in my mind, …

Hail to the Chief! Let Them Learn to Lead!

By Robert Rose • Nov 1st, 2009

Patsy was one of the smallest girls in my class. Her parents came from Cambodia and they taught her to be quiet, courteous, and thoughtful of others. She was calmly, confidently pointing to her teammates exactly where each was to play.

Standarized Testing Alternative

By Robert Rose • Aug 4th, 2009

Would you hire a person to educate the students in your town if he told you 20% would fail or be below average and another 60% would be average?
