Professor Sneeze Stories, Activities Teach Environmental Science
By Teachers.Net News DeskEngaging stories and cute critters, clever crafts and games teach about ecology, climate change, environmental awareness, respect for wildlife , etc. A site we had fun exploring and we urge you to take a look, too!

Explaining climate changes to children (5-12 years old) and making them aware of actions to take to save energy, that is the mission of Professor Sneeze. These materials are developed in the framework of a project of the International Polar Foundation.
For children from 8 to 12 years old, Professor Sneeze proposes 2 stories followed by a pedagogical note and craftwork to symbolically recreate sea ice:

“Balbuzard and the keys of knowledge” (children will find out how Professor Claude Lorius discovered the first air bubbles trapped in ice while just drinking whisky!), http://www.contespedagogiques.be/mystere_choix_nouvelle_version_angl.html
“Detectives Puisi and Tiphok”, http://www.contespedagogiques.be/choix_2_recits_angl.html as well as a tale about renewable energies followed by a scientific experience “Avalak and the Electrick Prince” http://www.contespedagogiques.be/choix_2_recits_angl.html
For children 5-8 years old, Professor Sneeze has planned 5 tales about 5 different themes. http://www.contespedagogiques.be/choix_5_contes_angl.html
He hopes to receive many pictures showing drawings of actions that children promise to undertake themselves to protect the planet by e-mail (professor.sneeze@contespedagogiques.be). He’ll answer them, be sure.
And for everyone, there are polar crafts… http://www.contespedagogiques.be/choix_bricolages_angl.html
These materials are developed in the framework of a project of the International Polar Foundation. All tales and stories are validated by scientists.
www.contespedagogiques.be and www.educapoles.org will thus be references for all teachers looking for reliable educational material.
Myriam Dielemans is a Belgian teacher fascinated by Polar Regions.
She leads this project with the Belgian explorer Alain Hubert www.alainhubert.com and the team of the International Polar Foundation. Marie, her oldest daughter, also a teacher, helps her to write the stories. Muriel, her youngest daughter, teacher of fine art, illustrates the stories www.murielorange.com
