A Pocket Chart Activity – Hello Song
By Teachers.Net CommunityKindergarten teacher Sarah shared this photo of one of her classroom pocket charts. She tells us the activity is based upon a song she has posted on chart paper, with a blank space and a paper clip for securing the name of the day’s helper, and sung as a group during Circle Time.
For the activity, word cards are stored in sets below the pocket chart. During Center Time kids put the word and punctuation cards in order, then point to each word while singing and tracking – inserting different names, including their own…having fun and reinforcing lots of literacy concepts, concepts of print, and did we say: FUN!
