The Texas Teaching Fellows is searching for the state’s most outstanding professionals and recent graduates to become teachers in Texas’ public schools. The Texas Teaching Fellows is a selective program designed for individuals who are committed to teaching in our public schools’ most critical shortage areas, such as math, science, bilingual education, and special education. Limited positions are also available in English as a second language (ESL), Spanish, music, and elementary. Teaching Fellows can take advantage of a streamlined application process, an intensive summer training institute, and ongoing professional development that leads to a professional teaching certificate. Fellows will be eligible to begin teaching in San Antonio this fall as they begin to work to raise student achievement. Neither previous coursework in education nor prior teaching experience is required.
