#1040. Conjugation Races

Language, level: Middle
Posted Sun Apr 25 11:52:05 PDT 1999 by Ellizabeth A. Ashley (dreaton@odyssey.net).
CCA, Cincinnatus, NY USA
Materials Required: chalk, chalkboard space (or mini-boards)
Activity Time: varies
Concepts Taught: Reinforcing the conjugations of verbs in Spanish -- any tense

Assign at least two students to the chalkboard. Have each draw a T. (On the left side will go the forms for 1,2,3 person singular; on the right will go the forms for 1,2,3 person singular.) Announce the verb, which they write on the horizontal line the T makes. Tell them which tense you want. Tell them to go. The first one to finish AND finish correctly, wins. A new challenger may come forward. At the end of the activity, the student with the most points wins. (With the mini-boards, all of the group can be involved at the same time. In this instance, points would be taken to keep track of the final winner.)
