Materials Required: 1 bird's nest per group
Activity Time: about 30 minutes
Concepts Taught: The sudents will tell what they observe from a bird's nest.

Observing a Bird's Nest

Give each group a bird's nest and a handout. Explain to the students that
will be looking at the nest and making some decisions. After each group has
completed the activity, discuss their findings.

Handout: Some questions your handout might include: What size is the bird's
nest. (small, large) Measure the diameter. Name atleast 6 different things
found in your nest. How do you think the bird built the nest? According to
your observations, what type ofbird probably lived in this nest?
