Materials Required: Mr. Potato Head ,large white construction paper,markers,crayons,squiggly eyes,rulers,
Activity Time: 30 minutes to create and 2 classes to share
Concepts Taught: Identification and application of body parts

Topic:The parts of the body
Objective:SWBAT design,illustrate,and label their own Mr. Patato and use vocabulary to introduce their finished work.
Procedure:Teacher asks S. Que falta? S. supply body parts by responding "Los ojos faltan." S. put eyes in place. This is done for all parts. Next the T. draws a large oval on the black board and labels all the parts. S. design their own Potato Head and use a "theme" like potato on a skate board or potato gaucho or potato mexicano.
Next S. share their creations and talk about it.
For example: Este es Paco el vaquero de argentina. El tiene ojos cafe, pelo negro.
The students will discover many themes and enjoy coloring their masterpieces.
Idea: DESIGN A RUBIC WITH THE CLASS FOR THE GRADE THEY WANT.
ej. La cara = 1 point (WITH EACH FEATURE LABELED)
Los brazos= 1
Las piernas= 1
Los pies = 1
clothing labeled for higher levels = 2pts.
If the students include other parts in the framework such as past themes (houses, pastimes, weather etc. have them use oral skills to explain them)
