#1336. Apple Paper Plate Parts

Materials Required: paper plates, const. paper (red, green, white, brown), black crayon, glue
Activity Time: 45 minutes
Concepts Taught: Apples

Obj. identify the parts of an apple

Proc.
1. Read a book about apples. Then discuss the different parts of the apple.
2. Give children half of a paper plate, 1/4 red const, paper, 1/4 white const. paper, a green leaf, a brown stem
3. Make the mosaic apple- start by drawing the core with a black crayon then a few seeds inside the core, then tear the red paper and cover the ridged part of the paper plate, fill in the rest of the plate with the white paper torn for the mosaic look.
4. Then label the stem, leaf, skin, meat, core, and seeds with small labels.

Asses. The students will be assessed on the correct labeling of the inside of the apple.

The children love this art activity. They are learning and they don't even know it.
