continued from Activity Time. One session would be for the inroduction of the assignment and rough draft. The second session would be for revise, editing, and good copy.

One of the stories in our Reading Anthology is "Where Was Patrick Henry on the 29th of May?" After reading and discussing the story as well as connecting to our Social Studies curriculum (American Revolution), the students are to write a persuasive essay convincing fellow colonists to go to war with Britain. In this essay, the students are required to use two forms of figurative language (simile, metaphor, alliteration, etc). The students may want to share their essays with their classmates.
