Materials Required: Computer, scanner, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Word Art and paper and pencil for designing the
Activity Time: 4 hours
Concepts Taught: Integration of Software Programs

Name of Lesson Plan: Company Stockholders Newsletter

Directions: After class discussion, demonstration and individual student practice, student will be divided into groups of three or four. Each group will do the following:

a. Create an imaginary business. They will use WordArt and/or a scanner to create letterhead stationery for their business. Students will use this stationery for their newsletter.

b. Develop text for their newsletter using Microsoft word.

c. Develop sales figures for their business either by geographic region (north, south, east, etc.) or by category of sales (fresh flowers, potted flowers, flower arrangements, etc)

d. Develop a spreadsheet using Microsoft Excel and cut and paste the spreadsheet into the newsletter.

e. Develop a graph using Microsoft Excel to graph their sales data and cut and paste this graph into the newsletter.

The student groups will show their Newsletter to other members of the class and will be evaluated by their classmates.
