Materials Required: mud, fluff or dried grall, twigs, scraps of paper, dirt, water

Go for a nature walk. After studying birds, try making a bird's nest with your child or class. Collect the kinds of things birds might find-dried grasses, twigs, scrapes of paper, fluff, etc. Have the children try to weave these material together using a little mud if necessary (or glue if you must). Kids really learn to appreciate a bird's skills with this activity. You can use this activity to start or end a series of lessons on birds.
