#1685. Feelings Alphabet

other, level: all
Posted Sat Apr 22 18:48:01 PDT 2000 by Mary Jane (mlaughl@sidney.heartland.net).
Sidney Elementary, Sidney, USA
Materials Required: Book with one letter on each page, Spanish dictionary
Activity Time: 1 hour
Concepts Taught: English/Spanish words for feelings

To help students identify feeling words, I gave each student an alphabet book. We then brainstormed a list of feeling words. Each word was written on the correct alphabet page for the English word with the Spanish word following. Example: happy-feliz

I did this with 2nd graders, but it could be expanded for older students. We have a Spanish para at our school and she helped me with some of the unfamiliar words. Our students learn Spanish from Preschool on and this is a great extension for a Guidance lesson.
