Posted Thu Aug 24 17:54:05 PDT 2000 by Kristi Preslar Shelton (mkshelton@vnet.net).
South Stanly High School, Norwood, NC USA
Materials Required: A handout like the one listed here
Activity Time: Approx. 20 minutes
Concepts Taught: breaking the ice and getting to know your students

On the first day of school partner students up with another student. You can get a partner as well if there is not enough for everyone to have a partner. After the students are finished and have put the correct answers you can take it up and learn more about your students. Kids think it's fun to see what others think about them.

HOW WELL DO YOU KNOW ME???????

The assignment is to choose a partner and see how much you know about that person. You are going to answer the following questions as though your partner were asking them of you. So for instance where it says my name you write your partners name and where is says take a stab at my middle name you will write what you think the middle name of your partner is. This is just to see how well you know this person and also to find out more about someone else in this class. If you have no idea, take a guess it will be funny to see how right or wrong you are. After you have both answered all the questions go over them with your partner. Correct the ones that you got wrong—but don’t erase what you initially guessed. I will take these up and learn more about all of you.
