Crane Elementary, Rochester, NY
Materials Required: Poster board with songs written on them
Activity Time: 15 minutes
Concepts Taught: Learning the names of our continents and oceans

Most children at the elementary level love to sing. Getting them to remember the names of the continents and oceans is tougher. For my introduction to that unit, I teach them 2 songs. The first one is sung to the tune of "Row,row, row your boat."
Song #1 - Row, row, row your boat
Gently through the oceans
Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, Arctic
Oceans are so deep!
(Repeat)
The second song is a little more difficult and is sung to the tune of "We're off to see the wizard" from the Wizard of Oz.
Song #2 - We're off to see the continents
the continents of the world.
There's Africa, Antarctica, North and
South America.
There's Europe, Australia, and don't
forget about Asia.
We're off to see the continents,
the continents of the world.
